Palladium complex catalyzed reaction of diphenylketene with terminal acetylenes giving disubstituted acetylenes

The reaction of diphenylketene with terminal acetylenes catalyzed by tetrakis-(triphenylphosphine)palladium gave disubstituted acetylenes in high yields.     

Structural Characteristics of Er Doped LiNbO3 Thin Films Grown by the Liquid Phase Epitaxy Method

Erbium (Er³⁺) doped LiNbO₃ single crystal thin films have been grown LiNbO₃ (001) substrate by the liquid phase epitaxy method. The crystallinity was determined by high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction. The lattice mismatch between Er³⁺ doped LiNbO₃ films and LiNbO₃ (001) substrate was investigated by X‐ray rocking curve analysis. Also we studied the structural characteristics of Er³⁺ doped LiNbO₃ films and surface morphology dependent on the film thickness.     

Syntheses of cyanoselenoamides and diselenoamides: Conversion into selenazoles and selenazines

Reactions of dicyano compounds with a potassium selenocarboxylate afforded the corresponding cyanoselenoamides and diselenoamides in good yields of experimentally determined ratios. The obtained cyanoselenoamides were allowed to react with potassium selenocarboxylate, again to afford the corresponding diselenoamides in higher yields. The cyanoselenoamides and diselenoamides were investigated as substrates for preparations of selenazoles and selenazines. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Synthesis and crystal structure study of Y2O3 high-pressure polymorph

Single crystal high pressure polymorph of yttria was synthesized for the first time using a link–type cubic anvil apparatus. Crystal structure was refined from single crystal data. High pressure polymorph was confirmed as a monoclinic phase. Lattice parameters of the high pressure polymorph at room temperature and ambient pressure were determined as follows: a = 13.8714 Å, b = 3.4487 Å, c = 8.5862 Å, β = 100.12°.     

Syntheses of 2‐alkylthio‐1,3‐thiazine derivatives from S‐alkyldithiocarbamates and α,β‐unsaturated ketones

Various 2‐alkylthio‐1,3‐thiazine derivatives were synthesized by the reactions of S‐alkylthiocarbamates with α,β‐unsaturated ketones in the presence of BF₃ · Et₂O. The thiazine was converted into two isomeric dehydrated products in the presence of a Lewis acid. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
