A new time integrated method for the study of resonant nuclear scattering of synchrotron radiation in the forward direction
or in Bragg directions is introduced. This method gives in principle similar information as the well known time differential
method. A brief comparison of both methods is presented. The idea is to excite coherently the nuclei incorporated in two absorbers,
one moving with respect to the other. The fields radiated by the nuclei from both absorbers interfere and each time the nuclear
energy in one absorber matches, by Doppler modulation, the nuclear energy of the other, an extremum in the time integrated
intensity is observed. The results of the first experiments at the Advanced Photon Source at the Argonne National Laboratory
will be presented.

Working in the Palatini formalism, we describe a procedure for constructing degenerate solutions of general relativity on
4-manifold M from certain solutions of 2-dimensional $BF$ theory on any framed surface Σ embedded in M. In these solutions the cotetrad field e (and thus the metric) vanishes outside a neighborhood of Σ, while inside this neighborhood the connection A and the field satisfy the equations of 4-dimensional BF theory. Our construction works in any signature and with any value of the cosmological constant. If for some 3-manifold S, at fixed time our solutions typically describe “flux tubes of area”: the 3-metric vanishes outside a collection of thickened
links embedded in S, while inside these thickened links it is nondegenerate only
in the two transverse directions. We comment on the quantization of the theory of solutions of this form and its relation
to the loop representation of quantum gravity.

Polarization dynamics are considered in the presence of an anisotropic Kerr non-linearity in the most common semiconductor waveguide geometry. The equations of motion are formulated in terms of Stokes polarization parameters and their Hamiltonian form is derived. Stationary solutions and their stability are found for plane-wave propagation. It is found that the non-integrable problem of mixed-polarization spatial soliton dynamics can be largely explained in terms of the equivalent plane-wave solutions. 相似文献

Results from a systematic experiment on isolated perfused rat heart and isolated myocytes of adult rat showed that the mechanism of calcium influx during myocardial ischemia-reperfusion is due to the development of intracellular sodium overload during ischemic period; on reperfusion, the high intracellular Na+ content activated the reverse direction of Na(+)-Ca2+ exchange over myocardial sarcolemma (SL), thus a large quantity of extracellular Ca2+ fluxed over the SL to the intracellular space, forming a condition of intracellular Ca2+ overload, which leads to irreversible damage of the myocardium. 相似文献
