Organic-Inorganic Insulating Coatings Based on Sol-Gel Technology

The approach for improving bending strength of temperature-resistant flexible ceramic electric insulating coatings prepared by sol-gel processing is considered. Starting suspensions, based on both tetraethoxysilane (TEOS)-derived modified sols and highly dispersed fillers such as Cr₂O₃, are used to deposit the coatings on metals and alloys. Some polymers and organic substances are tested as additives for improving flexibility of the ceramic coatings. The results of study of both bending strength and electrical strength of flexible hybrid organic-inorganic insulation formed on a nichrome wire are discussed. The data obtained on the chemical and phase structure of the coatings, which have been heat treated at temperatures from 95 to 1100°C, using DSC as well as X-ray scattering techniques are presented.     

Specific features of the solubilization of multinuclear aromatic hydrocarbons in triton X-100 micelles

Via the spectral shift method, it is shown that the molecules of phenanthrene, fluorene, and naphthalene solubilized by Triton X-100 micelles are localized at the boundary between hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions of a micelle. Changes in the volumes of the cavities in the micelles containing the aforementioned aromatic hydrocarbons are estimated in comparison with the volumes of corresponding cavities in benzene and n-paraffins.     

Discrete $$RP$$ Groups with a Parabolic Generator

We deal with the two-generator subgroups of PSL(2, ?) with real traces of both generators and their commutator. We give discreteness criteria for these groups when at least one of the generators is parabolic. We also present a list of the corresponding orbifolds.     

Polyvinyloxyalkylammonium Chlorides and Their Use in Pressure Flotation of Lignin Sludge

Polyvinyloxyalkylammonium chlorides were synthesized in up to 82% yields by alkylation of monoethanolamine polyvinyl ether with higher alkyl chlorides. The suitability of the resulting polyvinyloxyalkylammonium chlorides for treatment of lignin-containing wastewater by pressure flotation was tested.
