Background  

Although previous studies suggest that postural control requires attention and other cognitive resources, the central mechanisms responsible for this relationship remain unclear. To address this issue, we examined the effects of altered attention on cortical activity and postural responses following mechanical perturbations to upright stance. We hypothesized that cortical activity would be attenuated but not delayed when mechanical perturbations were applied during a concurrent performance of a cognitive task (i.e. when attention was directed away from the perturbation). We also hypothesized that these cortical changes would be accompanied by alterations in the postural response, as evidenced by increases in the magnitude of anteroposterior (AP) centre of pressure (COP) peak displacements and tibialis anterior (TA) muscle activity. Healthy young adults (n = 7) were instructed to continuously track (cognitive task) or not track (control task) a randomly moving visual target using a hand-held joystick. During each of these conditions, unpredictable translations of a moving floor evoked cortical and postural responses. The effect of temperature perturbation on a single-chain-collapse process was studied for poly(methyl methacrylate) with the molecular weight M(w)=1.05 x 10(7) in the mixed solvent of tert-butyl alcohol+water (2.5 vol %). In the chain-collapse process after a quench from the theta; temperature to a temperature T(1), the temperature was changed from T(1) to T(2) at the time t(1) after the quench and returned to T(1) at the time t(1)+t(2). In the three stages at T(1), T(2), and T(1), measurements of the mean-square radius of gyration of polymer chains were carried out by static light scattering and the chain-collapse process was represented by the expansion factor as a function of time. An effect of chain aggregation on the measurements was negligibly small because of the very slow phase separation. For the negative temperature perturbation (T(1)>T(2)), the chain-collapse processes observed in the first and third stages were connected smoothly and agreed with the collapse process due to a single-stage quench to T(1). A memory of the chain collapse in the first stage at T(1) was found to persist into the third stage at the same temperature T(1) without being affected by the temperature perturbation of T(2) during t(2). A spin-Peierls system (DMe-DCNQI)2Li is studied with W-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) ( approximately 94 GHz) to unveil a charge transport mechanism in the insulating 4k(F) charge density wave state above T(SP). The electron hopping between the neighbor DCNQI columns provides an additional broadening of the EPR linewidth, since the neighbor columns are generally nonequivalent to each other with respect to g shift. The obtained intercolumn hopping rates lead us to the conclusion that the electron hopping to a hole soliton carrying a fractional charge of e / 2 in the neighbor column dominates the intercolumn charge transport.  相似文献

The emission spectrum of HNC has been measured from 400 to 4100 cm(-1). The HNC was observed as an equilibrium mixture of HCN and HNC in a fused quartz cell heated to 1370 K. The three fundamental bands and many hot bands of HNC were measured with resolutions ranging from 0.006 cm(-1) for the lowest fundamental to 0.033 cm(-1) for the other two. High rotational levels up to J=62 were observed as well as vibrational levels up to v(2)=5. A facile method for the construction of an immunoconjugate which displays targeting ligands, such as antibody fragments, with a high density is reported. For this purpose, we synthesized a novel trifunctional crosslinking reagent. By the use of this reagent, ligands targeting the specific cell can be displayed on the surface of the drug carrier with a high density. In this study, we display HER2 (human epidermal growth‐factor receptor‐2) binding ligands on branched polyethylenimine (PEI), which can form polyplexes with plasmid DNA. Kinetic analysis of the binding to the extracellular domain of HER2 show the PEI displaying a high density of ligands binds to the target more strongly compared to the PEI displaying ligands at a low density. The increased density of HER2 ligands displayed on the gene carrier contributes to the improved transfection efficiency. This approach can be applied to other drug delivery systems, including liposome, micelle, and so on.  相似文献

The reaction between glass-like carbon (GC) and chlorine trifluoride (ClF3) gas was investigated with weight measurements, surface analysis, and gas desorption measurements, where the ClF3 gas is used for the in situ cleaning of tubes in silicon-related fabrication equipment. From Auger electron spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements, a carbon mono-fluoride, –(CF)n–, film near the surface of GC is considered to be grown onto the GC surface above 400 °C by the chemical reaction with ClF3, and this thickness of the fluoride film depends on the temperature. The grown fluoride film desorbs by annealing in a vacuum up to 600 °C. Although GC is apparently etched by ClF3 over 600 °C, the etch rate of GC is much lower than that of SiC and quartz.  相似文献

Metal-ion complexation of 7-benzylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3(7H)-one derivative (2) with Li+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Sc3+, and La3+ in acetonitrile resulted in successive modulations of its UV/vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic properties. This result indicates that 2 can be used as a colorimetric and fluorometric sensor of the Lewis acidity of a metal ion in aprotic solutions. The hypothesis that the metal-ion complex has a O10(imidazopyrazinone)-metal ion bond was supported by X-ray crystallographic analysis and quantum chemical calculations for a Li+ complex of 7-methylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-3(7H)-one derivative (1).  相似文献

The high-resolution spectrum of cyanogen (14N12C12C14N) has been measured from 500 to 4900 cm−1. For this isotopomer many combination levels with both degenerate fundamentals, ν4 and ν5, have been measured for the first time and the effects of vibrational l-type resonance are observed as well as rotational l-type resonance. The effects of the vibrational resonance coupling ν2 and 2ν4 have also been studied. The data have been combined with earlier measurements below 500 cm−1 to give a comprehensive catalog of the vibrational energy levels and the rovibrational constants for the normal isotopomer of cyanogen. A comparison of the term value constants for the three major symmetric isotopomers is given and they are compared with a recent ab initio calculation. The present data were combined with earlier work on the two symmetric isotopomers, 13C214N2 and 12C215N2, to obtain the equilibrium bond lengths, rCC = 138.109(60) pm and rCN = 115.976(40) pm.  相似文献

LC/MS/MS was developed to determine the residues of bithionol (BTN), bromofen (BMF), nitroxynil (NTX), oxyclozanide (OCZ), and tribromsalan (TBS) in milk. Samples were extracted with ethyl acetate and cleaned up by liquid-liquid separation with acetonitrile and n-hexane. The compounds were determined by RP-LC using a C18 column with 0.1% formic acid-methanol. Mass spectral acquisition was performed in the negative mode by applying selected-reaction monitoring. The method was validated in milk spiked with these compounds at 5-600 microg/kg; average recoveries were in the range 83.8-97.1%, with RSD values of 1.4-8.0%. The interassay RSDs were less than 11%. The LODs of these compounds in milk were 0.1 microg/kg. The method was applied to 24 raw milk samples. The concentration of these compounds in all samples was lower than the Japanese maximum residue limits. The method is rapid, sensitive, and specific for monitoring residues of BTN, BMF, NTX, OCZ, and TBS in milk.  相似文献
