A new AB type of monomer 4′-fluoro-3,5-dimethyl-3′-trifluoromethyl-biphenyl-4-ol has been synthesized that leads to a new poly(arylene ether) by self polycondensation reaction. The monomer and the polymer have been well characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. Both FT-IR and NMR spectra of the polymers did not show any terminal phenoxy group indicating high conversion. The polymer showed glass transition at 278°C and very good thermal stability in synthetic air. GPC results indicate high molar mass development; Mw = 53200 and MWD = 2.29.  相似文献

Lanthanum trifluoromethanesulfonate‐catalyzed solvent‐free per‐O‐acetylation with stoichiometric acetic anhydride proceeds in high yield (95%–99%) to afford exclusively pyranose products as anomeric mixtures. Subsequent anomeric substitution employing borontrifluoride etherate and thiols or alcohols furnished the corresponding 1,2‐trans‐linked thioglycosides and O‐glycosides, respectively, in good to excellent overall yield (75%–85%). Alternatively, reaction of free sugars in neat alcohol employing the same catalyst at elevated temperature gives the corresponding 1,2‐cis‐linked O‐glycosides (along with 1,2‐trans‐linked glycosides as minor product) in good yield (73%–80%). Anomeric mixtures of compounds thus produced were characterized as their per‐O‐acetylated derivatives.   相似文献

A fluorescence based method has been developed for the determination of trace amounts of uranium in thorium matrix using a mixture of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4), as fluorescence enhancing reagent for uranyl (UO2 2+) ion fluorescence. Synthetic samples mimicking the composition of ThO2 fuel were prepared and the concentration of U(VI) was estimated. Satisfactory results are obtained when uranium is present at a concentration of 10 ppm in solid thorium samples with good precision.  相似文献

Phase transitions in molecular crystals are often determined by intermolecular interactions. The cage complex of [Co(C12H30N8)]3+ ⋅ 3 NO3 is reported to undergo a disorder-order phase transition at Tc1 ≈133 K upon cooling. Temperature-dependent neutron and synchrotron diffraction experiments revealed satellite reflections in addition to main reflections in the diffraction patterns below Tc1. The modulation wave vector varies as function of temperature and locks in at Tc3≈98 K. Here, we demonstrate that the crystal symmetry lowers from hexagonal to monoclinic in the incommensurately modulated phases in Tc1<T<Tc3. Distinctive levels of competitions: trade-off between longer N−H⋅⋅⋅O and shorter C−H⋅⋅⋅O hydrogen bonds; steric constraints to dense C−H⋅⋅⋅O bonds give rise to pronounced modulation of the basic structure. Severely frustrated crystal packing in the incommensurate phase is precursor to optimal balance of intermolecular interactions in the lock-in phase.  相似文献

The voluminous utilization and application of plate and frame heat exchangers (PFHE) in many industries has accelerated the consumer and designer both to optimize exchanger total cost. Over the last few years, several old and new generation algorithms were employed and exploited to optimize PFHE cost. This study explores the application and performance of three new-generation algorithms Big Bang-Big Crunch (BBBC), Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), and Water Evaporation Optimization (WEO) in designing optimally PFHE. Besides, this study also compares the performance of three well-established old generations algorithms namely genetic algorithm (genetics and natural selection), particle swarm optimization (animals behaviour), and differential evolution (population-based) with the above three new algorithms in the optimization of PFHE.Seven design factors are chosen for PFHE optimization: exchanger length on hot and cold sides, height and thickness of fin, length of the fin-strip, fin frequency, and the number of hot side layers. The applicability of the suggested algorithms is assessed using a case study based on published research. Though DE performs the best in this study of design optimization concerning total cost and computational time, the three new-generation meta-heuristic algorithms BBBC, GWO, and WEO also provide the novel scope of application in heat exchanger design optimization and successfully finding the cost of the heat exchanger. According to this study, capital costs increase by 19.5% for BBBC, 24% for GWO, and 7.6% for GWO, but operational costs fall by 9.5% for BBBC and GWO when compared to the best performing algorithm (DE). On the other hand, WEO shows an increase of 32.6% in operational costs. Aside from that, a full analysis of the computing time for each algorithm is also provided. The DE has the quickest run time of 0.09 ?s, while the PSO takes the longest at 33.97 ?s. The rest of the algorithms have nearly identical values. As a result, a good comparison is established in this study, offering an excellent platform for designers and customers to make selections. Additionally, the three new generations algorithms mentioned here were not used earlier for optimization of PFHE and the comparative study illustrates that each of them possesses eat potential for cost optimization and also solving other complex problems.  相似文献

Electrokinetic transport of an uncharged nonconducting microsized liquid droplet in a charged hydrogel medium is studied. Dielectric polarization of the liquid drop under the action of an externally imposed electric field induces a non-homogeneous charge density at the droplet surface. The interactions of the induced surface charge of the droplet with the immobile charges of the hydrogel medium generates an electric force to the droplet, which actuates the drop through the charged hydrogel medium. A numerical study based on the first principle of electrokinetics is adopted. Dependence of the droplet velocity on its dielectric permittivity, bulk ionic concentration, and immobile charge density of the gel is analyzed. The surface conduction is significant in presence of charged gel, which creates a concentration polarization. The impact of the counterion saturation in the Debye layer due to the dielectric decrement of the medium is addressed. The modified Nernst–Planck equation for ion transport and the Poisson equation for the electric field is considered to take into account the dielectric polarization. A quadrupolar vortex around the uncharged droplet is observed when the gel medium is considered to be uncharged, which is similar to the induced charge electroosmosis around an uncharged dielectric colloid in free-solution. We find that the induced charge electrokinetic mechanism creates a strong recirculation of liquid within the droplet and the translational velocity of the droplet strongly depends on its size for the dielectric droplet embedded in a charged gel medium.  相似文献

Catalytic fluorolactonisations of aromatic carboxylic acids have been developed. The reactions proceed under mild conditions using the commercially available reagent Selectfluor. A weak phase transfer of the reagent mediated by Na2CO3 allows the reaction to be conducted in non‐polar solvents. Furthermore, by the use of a catalytic amount of (DHQ)2PHAL (hydroquinine 1,4‐phthalazinediyl diether), the first asymmetric fluorolactonisation has been achieved. The corresponding isobenzofuran core can be found in many biologically active molecules.  相似文献
