Results from new experiments on the lubricated pipelining of emulsified waxy crude oil and No. 6 fuel oil are presented and compared with other sources of literature. A correlation formula which estimates the holdup fraction is introduced and evaluated for all available experimental data. A simple theory is given which is based on the concentric core-annular flow model and leads to a Reynolds number and friction factor which reduce a large body of experimental data onto one curve; with the best results in the high Reynolds number flow regime.  相似文献

Aminoacyl phosphates, biomimetic analogues of aminoacyl adenylates, react efficiently with amino acid esters to form dipeptides with retention of stereochemical integrity. The reactions are selective and occur readily in the presence of nucleophiles other than amino groups on their side chains. Aminoacyl phosphate esters that lack an amino-protecting group are also suitable for peptide bond formation, leading to a simplified overall process.  相似文献

We cloak a region from a known incident wave by surrounding the region with three or more devices that cancel out the field in the cloaked region without significantly radiating waves. Since very little waves reach scatterers within the cloaked region, the scattered field is small and the scatterers are for all practical purposes undetectable. The devices are multipolar point sources that can be determined from Green's formula and an addition theorem for Hankel functions. The cloaking devices are exterior to the cloaked region.  相似文献

pp annihilations, leading to the production of at least one neutral K meson in the final state, have been studied in the incident momentum region of 700–760 MeV/c. Topological cross sections and cross sections for the various exclusive final states are presented. Detailed analyses of the different final states have been carried out to study the importance of resonance production and of quasi two-body and quasi three-body processes. A detailed study of the KKπ system in the four-body final states shows that the F1 meson is a spurious effect due to systematic biases. In the momentum range investigated, the C = +1 final states are strongly suppressed.  相似文献

An enhanced hemoglobin–membrane association has been previously documented in sickle cell anemia. However, it is not known how this interaction is modified during the hemoglobin S polymerization process. In this work, we use a model of reconstituted erythrocytes from ghost membranes whose cytoskeleton proteins had been previously labeled with the 4-maleimido Tempo spin label, and that were subsequently resealed with hemoglobin S or A solutions. Using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, we studied the time dependence of the spectral W/S parameter, indicative of the conformational state of cytoskeleton proteins (mainly spectrin) under spontaneous deoxygenation, with the aim of detecting the eventual effects due to hemoglobin S polymerization. The differences observed in the temporal behavior of W/S in erythrocytes reconstituted with both hemoglobins were considered as experimental evidence of an increment in hemoglobin S–membrane interaction as a result of the polymerization process of hemoglobin S under spontaneous deoxygenation.  相似文献

In the exciton-polariton system, a linear dispersive photon field is coupled to a nonlinear exciton field. Short-time analysis of the lossless system shows that, when the photon field is excited, the time required for that field to exhibit nonlinear effects is longer than the time required for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, in which the photon field itself is nonlinear. When the initial condition is scaled by \(\epsilon ^\alpha \), it is found that the relative error committed by omitting the nonlinear term in the exciton-polariton system remains within \(\epsilon \) for all times up to \(t=C\epsilon ^\beta \), where \(\beta =(1-\alpha (p-1))/(p+2)\). This is in contrast to \(\beta =1-\alpha (p-1)\) for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The result is proved for solutions in \(H^s(\mathbb {R}^n)\) for \(s>n/2\). Numerical computations indicate that the results are sharp and also hold in \(L^2(\mathbb {R}^n)\).  相似文献

(Gd,Y)Ba2Cu3Ox tapes have been fabricated by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) with Zr-doping levels of 0–15 mol.% and Ce doping levels of 0–10 mol.% in 0.4 μm thick films. The critical current density (Jc) of Zr-doped samples at 77 K, 1 T applied in the orientation of H 6 c is found to increase with Zr content and shows a maximum at 7.5% Zr doping. The 7.5% Zr-doped sample exhibits a critical current density (Jc) of 0.95 MA/cm2 at H 6 c which is more than 70% higher than the Jc of the undoped sample. The peak in Jc at H 6 c is 83% of that at H 6 ab in the 7.5% Zr-doped sample which is more than twice as that in the undoped sample. Superconducting transition temperature (Tc) values as high as about 89 K have been achieved in samples even with 15% Zr and 10% Ce. Ce-doped samples with and without Ba compensation are found to exhibit substantially different Jc values as well as angular dependence characteristics.  相似文献
