Networks of dynamical nodes serve as generic models for real-world systems in many branches of science ranging from mathematics to physics, technology, sociology and biology. Collective behavior of agents interacting over complex networks is important in many applications. The cooperation between selfish individuals is one of the most interesting collective phenomena. In this paper we address the interplay between the motifs’ cooperation properties and their abundance in a number of real-world networks including yeast protein-protein interaction, human brain, protein structure, email communication, dolphins’ social interaction, Zachary karate club and Net-science coauthorship networks. First, the amount of cooperativity for all possible undirected subgraphs with three to six nodes is calculated. To this end, the evolutionary dynamics of the Prisoner’s Dilemma game is considered and the cooperativity of each subgraph is calculated as the percentage of cooperating agents at the end of the simulation time. Then, the three- to six-node motifs are extracted for each network. The significance of the abundance of a motif, represented by a Z-value, is obtained by comparing them with some properly randomized versions of the original network. We found that there is always a group of motifs showing a significant inverse correlation between their cooperativity amount and Z-value, i.e. the more the Z-value the less the amount of cooperativity. This paper considers a new class of network flows, called dynamic generative network flows in which, the flow commodity is dynamically generated at a source node and dynamically consumed at a sink node and the arc-flow bounds are time dependent. Then the maximum dynamic flow problem in such networks for a pre-specified time horizon T is defined and mathematically formulated in both arc flow and path flow presentations. Experiments were conducted to investigate the main effects of salinity (NaCl) concentrations and pH factors and their interactions on the gelation time response of a polymer gel used in a water shutoff system in oil field reservoirs. Central composite design (CCD) was used to design experiments and a mathematical model building. The main advantage of CCD was to generate the quadratic mathematical model for the gelation time as functions of salinity and pH factors. Tests were limited and optimized by CCD points including low star (axial), low factorial, central, high factorial, and high star points. The evaluation of the data and the developed model were performed through the examination of graphical trend of residuals and a numerical approach. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to estimate the amount of data variations from the model predictions. It was found that the model was significant at the 99% confidence against test data. The results showed that the gelation time was dependent more on pH than salinity. For low pH, the gelation time increased with increasing of the salinity, while for a high pH (>4) the relationship was inversed. The research shows that CCD can effectively be applied for the modeling of gelation time and finding an optimum condition to achieve maximum or minimum gelation time for different salinity and pH factors. 相似文献

The graphene‐based nanocomposites are considered as great candidates for enhancing electrical and mechanical properties of nonconductive scaffolds in cardiac tissue engineering. In this study, reduced graphene oxide‐silver (rGO‐Ag) nanocomposites (1 and 2 wt%) were synthesized and incorporated into polyurethane (PU) nanofibers via electrospinning technique. Next, the human cardiac progenitor cells (hCPCs) were seed on these scaffolds for in vitro studies. The rGO‐Ag nanocomposites were studied by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscope (TEM). After incorporation of rGO‐Ag into PU nanofibers, the related characterizations were carried out including scanning electron microscope (SEM), TEM, water contact angle, and mechanical properties. Furthermore, PU and PU/nanocomposites scaffolds were used for in vitro studies, wherein hCPCs showed good cytocompatibility via 3‐(4, 5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl)‐2,5‐diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and considerable attachment on the scaffold using SEM studies. Real‐time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunostaining studies confirmed the upregulation of cardiac specific genes including GATA‐4, T‐box 18 (TBX 18), cardiac troponin T (cTnT), and alpha‐myosin heavy chain (α‐MHC) in the PU/rGO‐Ag scaffolds in comparison with neat PU ones. Living Micrococcus luteus (M. luteus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) are encapsulated in poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(vinylpyrrolidone), hydroxypropyl cellulose, and gelatin by high‐temperature spray drying. The challenge is the survival of the bacteria during the standard spray‐drying process at temperatures of 150 °C (M. luteus) and 120 °C (E. coli). Raman imaging and transmission electron microscopy indicate encapsulated bacteria in hollow composite microparticles. The versatility of the spray‐dried polymer bacteria microparticles is successfully proved by standard polymer solution–processing techniques such as electrospinning, even with harmful solvents, to water‐insoluble polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), and poly(vinyl butyrate) nanofiber nonwovens, which opens numerous new opportunities for novel applications. 相似文献

We have fabricated in-plane slanted gratings on azo-functionalized polymeric films using a fast, direct-writing method. By properly adjusting the resonance, these gratings can be used as 90 degrees integrated reflectors and add/drop filters in the plane of the film. We have produced an attenuation of 14.8 dB at 1560.2 nm with a FWHM of 6.47 nm. Also, a signal of 1548 nm wavelength was added to the output from a different direction. This paper develops a green method for in situ decorated of palladium nanoparticles over Fe3O4 nanoparticles, by utilizing Strawberry fruit extract and ultrasound irradiations, with no use of any toxic reducing agent. A good photocatalyst with high efficiency can be synthesized easily using eco-friendly materials and processes. Our synthesized samples exhibit all of the aforementioned features. In this work, manganese co-doped ZnO at different weight percentages (3, 6, 9, and 15 wt.%) with and without 1.5 wt.% aluminum was synthesized by hydrothermal method, and their photocatalytic activity in aqueous solutions of methyl orange (MO) was investigated under visible light. The structural and optical properties of the samples were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. In this work, Mn2+ ions in the 9%Mn/ZnO sample and Mn2+, Al3+ ions in the (9%Mn, 1.5%Al)/ZnO sample calcined at 800 °C were replaced instead with some Zn2+ ions in hexagonal wurtzite structures of ZnO. These structures were found next to each other in the form of a hexagonal shape that created 3D-hexagonal-like ZnO nanostructures. Finally, nanoparticles (NPs) and nano hexagonal-like ZnO nanostructures were, respectively, dispersed on the surface of 3D-hexagonal-like structure of 9%Mn/ZnO and (9%Mn, 1.5%Al)/ZnO. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis showed that the (9%Mn, 1.5%Al)/ZnO sample had more light absorption than 9%Mn/ZnO. However, contrary to our expectations, the 9%Mn/ZnO sample had better decolorization efficiency (94%) after 60 min under visible light, which could be attributed to a significant increase in the level of recombination by the aluminum ions. 相似文献
