The simultaneous extraction of acidic and basic pollutants from water samples is an interesting and debatable work in sample preparation techniques. A novel and efficient method named ion pair based surfactant assisted microextraction (IP-SAME) was applied for extraction and preconcentration of five selected acidic and basic aromatic species as model compounds in water samples, followed by high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection. A mixture including 1 mL of ultra-pure water (containing ionic surfactant as emulsifier agent) and 60 μL 1-octanol (as extraction solvent) was rapidly injected using a syringe into a 10.0 mL water sample which formed an emulsified solution. IP-SAME mechanism can be interpreted by two types of molecular mass transfer into the organic solvent (partitioning and ion pairing for non-ionized and ionized compounds, respectively) during emulsification process. The effective parameters on the extraction efficiency such as the extraction solvent type and its volume, type of the surfactant and its concentration, sample pH and ionic strength of the sample were optimized. Under the optimum conditions (60 μL of 1-octanol; 1.5 mmol L(-1) cethyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as emulsifier agent and sample pH 10.0), the preconcentration factors (PFs), detection limits and linear dynamic ranges (LDRs) were obtained in the range of 87-348, 0.07-0.6 μg L(-1) and 0.1-200 μg L(-1) respectively. All of natural water samples were successfully analyzed by the proposed method. 相似文献

We report on a comparative micro-photoluminescence investigation of ZnO hexagonal nanopillars (HNPs) and the seeding layer grown on the off-axis 4H-SiC substrate. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) results establish that a thin seeding layer continuously covers the terraces of 4H-SiC prior to the growth of ZnO HNPs. Low temperature photoluminescence (LTPL) shows that ZnO HNPs are only dominated by strong donor bound exciton emissions without any deep level emissions. Micro-LTPL mapping demonstrates that this is specific also for the seeding layer. To further understand the recombination mechanisms, time-resolved micro-PL spectra (micro-TRPL) have been collected at 5 K and identical bi-exponential decays have been found on both the HNPs and seeding layer. Temperature-dependent TRPL indicates that the decay time of donor bound exciton is mainly determined by the contributions of non-radiative recombinations. This could be explained by the TEM observation of the non-radiative defects in both the seeding layer and HNPs, like domain boundaries and dislocations, generated at the ZnO/SiC interface due to biaxial strain. 相似文献

In this paper, we prove that there exists an infinite series of finite simple groups of Lie type with connected prime graphs which are uniquely determined by their prime graphs. More precisely, we show that every finite group G with the same prime graph as ${{}^2D_{n}(3)}$ , where n ≥ 5 is odd, is necessarily isomorphic to the group ${{}^2D_{n}(3)}$ . In fact, we give a positive answer to an open problem that arose in Zavarnitsine (Algebra Logic 45(4):220–231, 2006). As a consequence of our result, we obtain that the simple group ${{}^2D_n(3)}$ , where n is an odd number, is characterizable by its spectrum. 相似文献

The use of naturally occurring materials in biomedicine has been increasingly attracting the researchers’ interest and, in this regard, gum tragacanth (GT) is recently showing great promise as a therapeutic substance in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. As a polysaccharide, GT can be easily extracted from the stems and branches of various species of Astragalus. This anionic polymer is known to be a biodegradable, non-allergenic, non-toxic, and non-carcinogenic material. The stability against microbial, heat and acid degradation has made GT an attractive material not only in industrial settings (e.g., food packaging) but also in biomedical approaches (e.g., drug delivery). Over time, GT has been shown to be a useful reagent in the formation and stabilization of metal nanoparticles in the context of green chemistry. With the advent of tissue engineering, GT has also been utilized for the fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) scaffolds applied for both hard and soft tissue healing strategies. However, more research is needed for defining GT applicability in the future of biomedical engineering. On this object, the present review aims to provide a state-of-the-art overview of GT in biomedicine and tries to open new horizons in the field based on its inherent characteristics. 相似文献

Nano nitrogen‐doped titanium dioxide was rapidly prepared by hydrolysis of titanium isopropoxide at 75–80°C using in situ sonochemical synthesis by introducing ammonia. Various concentrations of titanium isopropoxide were examined to deposit nano nitrogen‐doped titanium dioxide through impregnation of the wool fabric in ultrasound bath followed by curing. The antibacterial/antifungal activities of wool samples were assessed against two common pathogenic bacteria including Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus and the diploid fungus Candida albicans. The sonotreated wool fabrics indicated no adverse effects on human dermal fibroblasts. The presence of nanoparticles on the sonotreated wool fabrics were confirmed by FE‐SEM images and EDS patterns and X‐ray mapping and the crystalline size of nanoparticles were estimated through XRD results. The role of both pH and precursor concentration on the various properties of the fabric was investigated and the optimized conditions introduced using response surface methodology. 相似文献

Gums are carbohydrate biomolecules that have the potential to bind water and form gels. Gums are regularly linked with proteins and minerals in their construction. Gums have several forms, such as mucilage gums, seed gums, exudate gums, etc. Plant gums are one of the most important gums because of their bioavailability. Plant-derived gums have been used by humans since ancient times for numerous applications. The main features that make them appropriate for use in different applications are high stabilization, viscosity, adhesive property, emulsification action, and surface-active activity. In many pharmaceutical formulations, plant-based gums and mucilages are the key ingredients due to their bioavailability, widespread accessibility, non-toxicity, and reasonable prices. These compete with many polymeric materials for use as different pharmaceuticals in today’s time and have created a significant achievement from being an excipient to innovative drug carriers. In particular, scientists and pharmacy industries around the world have been drawn to uncover the secret potential of plant-based gums and mucilages through a deeper understanding of their physicochemical characteristics and the development of safety profile information. This innovative unique class of drug products, useful in advanced drug delivery applications, gene therapy, and biosynthesis, has been developed by modification of plant-based gums and mucilages. In this review, both fundamental and novel medicinal aspects of plant-based gums and mucilages, along with their capacity for pharmacology and nanomedicine, were demonstrated. 相似文献

An air-assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method coupled with a multivariate calibration method, namely partial least squares (PLS), was developed for the extraction and simultaneous determination of benzoic acid (BA) and sorbic acid (SA) via a spectrophotometric approach. In this work, a two-step microextraction method was used. In the first step, analytes were extracted from acidic aqueous solution into octanol, as an organic solvent, and in the second step, the analytes were simultaneously back-extracted into an alkaline aqueous solution. The high absorption signal of octanol was the main reason to perform this back-extraction step. The effects of different parameters on the method efficiency were investigated; the parameters included extraction solvent volume, ionic strength of aqueous solution, pH, number of extraction cycles, and aqueous sample volume. Under optimum conditions, calibration graphs were seen to be linear over the range of 0.1–2.0 µg mL?1 for the both analytes. Other analytical parameters were obtained as follows: Enrichment factors (EFs) were found to be 14.98 and 13.03, and limits of detection were determined to be 0.03 and 0.04 µg mL?1 for BA and SA, respectively. As the last step, binary mixtures of the analytes were prepared and simultaneously extracted using the proposed method. Finally, PLS modeling was used for multivariate calibration of spectrophotometric data. It was successfully utilized for the analysis of the target analytes in real samples. 相似文献
