A series of highly sulfonated, ether‐containing polybenzimidazoles (SOPBI) with controlled sulfonation degrees were synthesized from various stoichiometric ratio mixtures of sodium 6,6'‐oxybis(3‐carboxybenzenesulfonate) (SODBA), 4,4'‐oxydibenzoic acid (ODBA), and 3,3'‐diaminobenzidine (DAB) by solution copolycondensation in poly(phosphoric acid). The resulting sulfonated polymers were further sulfonated by grafting of pendant sulfonic acid chains via a reaction of 1,3‐propane sultone with lithiated‐N of the imidazole rings in the polymer backbone, yielding materials with high, absolute IEC values (3.42–4.15 meq g?1). Due to self‐neutralization, the solid state polymers possessed “free” acid content of 1.40 to 2.15 meq g?1, were soluble in organic solvents yet insoluble in aqueous solution, while displaying proton conductivites (11–47 mS cm?1) at elevated temperatures (80 °C, 95% RH). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Increased throughput in medicinal chemistry has substantially increased the production of new chiral chemical entities with diverse structural features, requiring fast chiral screening strategies. In an effort to explore screening methods we have developed and evaluated gradients in polar organic and normal phase modes on three popular chiral stationary phases using a sample set of 19 racemic compounds. When compared, gradients performed on par with the isocratic methods besides proving to be advantageous in terms of speed of analysis and elution capacity. MS detection was successfully applied to the analysis of a pooled sample consisting 19 compounds to speed-up the screening process.  相似文献

Poly(3‐hexylthiophene)‐b‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) diblock copolymer was synthesized by RAFT polymerization of 4‐vinyl pyridine using a trithiocarbonate‐terminated poly(3‐hexylthiophene) macro‐RAFT agent. The optoelectronic properties and the morphology of the block copolymer blends with CdSe quantum dots were investigated. UV‐vis and fluorescence experiments were performed to prove the charge transfer between CdSe and poly(3‐hexylthiophene)‐b‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) diblock copolymer. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly{4,8‐bis(4‐decylphenylethynyl)benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene} ( P1 ) homopolymer and poly{4,8‐bis(4‐decylphenylethynyl)benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene ‐alt‐thiophene} ( P2 ) alternating copolymer have been synthesized by Stille coupling polymerization. The field‐effect mobilities of both polymers were measured on both untreated and silane‐treated OFET devices. Various silanes were selected to allow an incremental increase in the hydrophobicity of the silicon dioxide dielectric. A direct correlation was observed between the hydrophobicity of the silicon dioxide dielectric surface and the enhancement of the field‐effect mobilities. The highest mobilities for both polymers were measured on the OFET devices treated with heptadecafluoro‐1,1,2,2‐tetrahydro‐decyl‐1‐trimethoxysilane (FS) which generated the most hydrophobic surface. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A highly efficient strategy to 2,3-substituted chromen-4H-ones has been developed. The methodology involves unexpected intramolecular heteroannulation of readily accessible substituted 2-hydroxy-ω-nitroacetophenone with carbon disulfide in the presence K2CO3 followed by methylation with methyl iodide. These chromenones were further reacted with various nucleophiles such as amines, thiols, and alkoxide resulting in the facile C-N, C-S, and C-O bond formation. The oxidative coupling of phenols with 4-aminoantipyrine (AmNH2) has been studied by UV–visible spectroscopy using platinum nanoparticles as catalyst. The rate of antipyrilquinoneimine dye formation depends on the nature of substrates, temperature, pH, and the use of microheterogeneous media such as sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS), cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and Triton X-100 (TX-100). The reactivity trend observed for differently substituted phenols follows the order: 3,5-dimethylphenol > phenol > o-chlorophenol > o-nitrophenol. The rate of dye formation is greater at acid pH than at basic pH and the optimum pH is 5.4. A reaction pathway is proposed, involving the activation of o-chlorophenol with AmNH2 by metal nanoparticles and concomitant reactions of free radicals. Transmission electron microscopy results show that the particle size is 20 nm for the platinum nanoparticles involved in catalysis. 4S-Aminoproline polypeptide 2 forms unusual β-structure in trifluoroethanol that switches to the polyproline II (PPII) form in aqueous medium, while 4R-aminoproline peptide 1 retains PPII form in both solvents. This first instance of a polyproline derivative showing a β-structure is attributed to competitive pH-dependent (4-NH(3)(+)/NH(2)) stereoelectronic effect (4R vs 4S) and the overriding importance of stereospecific intra/intermolecular H-bonding in (2,4)-cis-4S-aminoproline in contrast to (2,4)-trans-4R-aminoproline oligomers.  相似文献
