Tribological efficiency of industrial applications involving boundary lubrication regime can be improved to an appreciable extent by the deposition of hard coatings on interacting surfaces. Among such coatings, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings are considered to be one of the most suitable ones for the said role. DLC coatings possess a unique combination of physical, chemical, and material properties due to which they can help in minimizing friction-induced energy and material losses even under starved lubrication conditions. Since commercial lubricants are optimized for steel surfaces, therefore, a lot of experimental investigations were carried out to analyze the tribological compatibility of these lubricants with various DLC coatings. However, there is still a lack of understanding about how DLC coatings interact with conventional lubricant additives. Some researchers reported tribologically beneficial interactions between DLC coatings and formulated lubricants while others observed no such behavior. To address these inconsistencies, there is a need to rearrange the published data in a more apprehensible and organized manner with a special emphasis on the mechanisms responsible for a particular tribological behavior. In this way, it can be determined whether synergistic or antagonistic correlation exists between a particular DLC-lubricant combination and research on DLC coatings can be continued in a logical way. In this article, most widely investigated non-doped DLC coatings (ta-C, a-C:H, a-C, and ta-C:H) are tribologically analyzed. Average values of friction and wear coefficients are calculated for various DLC-lubricant combinations using already published data and compared to quantify the effectiveness of a particular lubricant additive in enhancing tribological characteristics of symmetrical non-doped DLC contacts. Moreover, tribological performance parameters of non-doped DLC coatings are compared with those of doped-DLC coatings to understand differences in their tribological behavior in combination with additives.  相似文献

The composite hydrogel of a nanoscale metal–organic framework (NMOF) and nanoclay has emerged as a new soft-material with advanced properties and applications. Herein, we report a facile synthesis of a hydrogel nanocomposite by charge-assisted self-assembly of Pd@ZIF-8 nanoparticles with Laponite® nanoclay which coat the surface of Pd@ZIF-8 nanoparticles. Such surface coating significantly enhanced the thermal stability of the ZIF-8 compared to the pristine framework. Further, the Pd@ZIF-8+LP hydrogel nanocomposite shows better size-selective catalytic hydrogenation of olefins than Pd@ZIF-8 nanoparticles based on selective diffusion of the substrate.  相似文献

The phosphor was prepared by the solid state reaction and characterized using XRD, PL and TL techniques. In this paper, we discuss the two-layered Jeffrey-fluid model with mild stenosis in narrow tubes. The blood flow in narrow arteries is treated as a two-fluid model with the suspension of erythrocytes, leukocytes, etc., as a Jeffrey fluid, which is a non-Newtonian fluid, in the core region and plasma, a Newtonian fluid, in the peripheral region. An analytical solution has been obtained for the velocity in the core and peripheral region, volume flow rate, resistance to flow, and wall-shear stress. The effect of Jeffrey-fluid parameters, like the height of stenosis, viscosity, etc., on volume flow rate, resistance to flow (impedance), and wall-shear stress has been discussed graphically. Through the present study, it is found that the wall-shear stress and resistance to flow increases with the increase in height of stenosis and decreases with the increase in the ratio of relaxation time. It is also found that the velocity decreases with an increase in stenosis height in both the core and the peripheral region. A previous result has been also verified.  相似文献

The isolation of stable carbenes of the Arduengo and Wanzlick type has prompted us to look for stable nitrenium ions of the related structural type 1-Hydroxy-3-methyl benzotriazolium trifluromethane sulfonate. Nitrenium ions are azocations with structure and survive long enough under in vitro conditions to bind with biological nucleophiles, i.e. DNA bases, and play an important role in carcinogenic processes involving the metabolism of aromatic amines. The title compound (C15H16F3N6O5S) was isolated and crystallized in the monoclinic space group Cc with cell parameters a = 19.866(1) Å, b = 13.128(9) Å, c = 7.673(5) Å, and Z = 4. The structure has both intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds.  相似文献
