Preparation of nanostructured tungsten oxide thin films using the reactive pulsed laser ablation technique is reported. The
structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of deposited films are systematically studied by changing the
ambient oxygen pressure (pO2). Structural dependence of tungsten oxide films on ambient oxygen pressure is discussed using grazing incidence X-ray diffraction
(GIXRD) and micro-Raman spectra. The section analysis using atomic force microscopy exposed the smooth surface features of
the deposited films. The blue shift in optical bandgap with an increase in ambient oxygen pressure is expounded in terms of
electronic band structure of tungsten oxide. The influence of oxygen pressure on optical constants like extinction coefficient,
band edge sharpness, refractive index and optical bandgap is also conveyed. The temperature variation of electrical resistance
for films deposited at 0.12 mbar furnishes evidence for its semiconducting nature.

We study the behavior of a naturally straight highly extensible elastic filament subjected to large extensional and twisting strains. We find that two different phases can coexist for a range of parameter values: the plectoneme and the solenoid. A simple theory based on a neo-Hookean model for the material of the filament and accounting for the slender geometry suffices to explain these observations, and leads to a phase diagram that is consistent with observations. Extension and relaxation experiments on these phases show the presence of large hysteresis loops and sawtooth-like force-displacement curves which are different for the plectoneme and the solenoid. 相似文献

We present a unified framework for understanding the compaction of colloidal gels under their own weight. The dynamics of the collapse are determined by the value of the gravitational stress sigma(g), as compared to the yield stress sigma(Y) of the network. For sigma(g)sigma(Y), the network eventually yields, leading to rapid settling. In both cases, the rate of collapse is backflow limited, while its overall magnitude is determined by a balance between gravitational stress and network elastic stress. 相似文献

We have analyzed the unusual electronic structure of Sr2FeMoO6 combining ab initio and model Hamiltonian approaches. Our results indicate that there are strong enhancements of the intra-atomic exchange strength at the Mo site as well as the antiferromagnetic coupling strength between Fe and Mo sites.
