Two qualitatively different types of resonant destabilization of phonon stimulated emission (SE) are discovered in experiments where a 9-GHz multimode ruby laser is periodically modulated (the electromagnetic pump frequency is 23 GHz). In the case of deep pump modulation at low modulation frequencies (ω=70–200 Hz, where ωm is the modulation frequency), a fast random alternation of microwave phonon SE modes is observed. This destabilization range corresponds to relaxation resonance in optical lasers. Outside the relaxation resonance range (at ωm≈10 Hz), the other type of resonant destabilization of stationary phonon SE is observed. This destabilization shows up as very slow regular self-detunings of the microwave SE spectra. The period of such self-organized motions depends significantly on ωm and changes by several orders of magnitude when ωm varies within several percent. The second type of SE resonant destabilization is explained in terms of antiphase energy exchange between modes in a modulated phaser.  相似文献

Intensities of principal diffraction maxima for a phase reflection diffraction grating with a rectangular groove profile were calculated by the Fresnel method, using a special algorithm. A binaural unmasking of a tone component that is present in an amplitude-time noise envelope of a high-frequency signal is studied. The signal has the form of a sinusoidal carrier of frequency 2000–5000 Hz amplitude modulated by a low-frequency signal. The modulating function is a mixture of a 300-Hz tone (interaurally inphase or antiphase) and a dichotic masking noise within 0–400 Hz, this mixture being subjected to a half-wave linear rectification. The listener has to detect the rhythmic component in the modulating noise function. It is shown that, under the aforementioned conditions, the binaural difference in masking levels grows up to 25 dB with increasing carrier frequency but drastically decreases in the case of a masking of the low-frequency part of the basilar membrane in the vicinity of 300 Hz. The lateralization based on the interaural phase of a 100% amplitude modulation by a 300-Hz tone at a carrier frequency within 2000 to 5000 Hz also drastically decreases (in our experiments) when the low-frequency part of the basilar membrane is masked.  相似文献

Coherent interference effects of the following three types are experimentally discovered in disordered (randomized) systems: (i) Josephson behavior of the HTSC polycrystal BaKBiO in the phase-separated state; (ii) oscillations of bismuth film resistance, which are periodic in “direct” magnetic field; and (iii) mesoscopic oscillations of the resistance in the course of film growth. In the first case, the method for detecting the “latent” nonstationary Josephson effect is substantiated by the frequency modulation method for microwave radiation, while in the other two cases, simple models are proposed to explain the nature of coherent oscillations of the resistance. The analogy between the observed oscillations and the Josephson effect in randomized systems is discussed.  相似文献

This paper reports on the results of investigations into the influence of variations in the chemical composition of the aromatic core of cyano-containing molecules of liquid crystals on their dielectric properties in the frequency range 1–2000 MHz. It is shown that the dispersion of the longitudinal permittivity is adequately described by the sum of two Debye processes with different weighting factors and relaxation times. The frequency dependence of the transverse permittivity is well approximated by the Debye process with a continuous distribution of relaxation times in a specified range. It is established that the replacement of one benzene ring in the biphenyl core of the 5CB liquid-crystal molecule by a cyclohexane (or bicyclooctane) fragment leads to a considerable decrease in both relaxation times for the longitudinal permittivity, a change in the low-frequency limit of the relaxation time range for the transverse permittivity, and the evolution of the frequency dependence of the dielectric anisotropy.  相似文献

The spectral-luminescent properties of silica gel glasses coactivated by Ce4+ and Eu3+ ions are investigated. The structure of the glasses is studied using x-ray powder diffraction and small-angle neutron scattering. The inference is drawn that Ce4+-Eu3+ centers with high-symmetry Eu(III) oxo complexes, which are formed in the glasses, have nanocrystalline nature. These centers are characterized by a weak vibronic interaction of Eu3+ ions with the matrix. The size of nanocrystallites formed under the synthesis conditions and at coactivator concentrations used is approximately equal to 10 nm.  相似文献

A REMMA 102 scanning electron microscope equipped with semiconductor and wave spectrometers is applied to measure the copper and zinc concentrations in the surface layers of an M161 brass sample and the same sample subjected to a focused laser radiation. The results are compared with the results obtained with an MS3101 laser mass spectrometer having a laser-plasma ion source. The laser-assisted erosion of the surface layer in the brass is shown to significantly change the copper and zinc concentrations. It is found that, when the craters produced by laser pulses on the initial surface do not overlap, the copper and zinc contents in the laser-induced plasma correspond to their contents in the sample.  相似文献
