The I–V characteristic of amorphous As4Se4Te2 was studied at relatively low temperature ranging from – 158°C to –67°C. Three distinct regions of current-voltage range were observed and discussed on the basis of space-charge limited-current mechanism. A number of conduction parameters were calculated for fresh and γ-radiation samples. The effect of γ-radiation and thermal annealing process on the conduction behaviour of the test sample and on the conduction parameters were also discussed.  相似文献

The electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra of 4-hydroxycoumarin, 7-hydroxycoumarin, 7-methoxycoumarin, 7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin, 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin, and 7-diethylamino-4-methylcoumarin were measured at room temperature (298K) in several solvents and their first excited singlet-state dipole moments were determined by the solvatochromic shift method. The excited singlet-state dipole moments of the coumarins were compared with the ground-state values.

A novel coating formulation to impart ultraviolet (UV) protection property to cotton, Polyethylene trephethalate (PET) and cotton/PET fabrics was prepared and gamma rays as an ionizing radiation was utilized for surface curing. Natural occurring aluminum potassium sulfate (Alum) was used individually and in binary coat with Zinc Oxide (ZnO), to induce the UV-blocking properties. It was found that using Alum (0.3 g/ml) caused a prompt increase in ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) over the uncoated fabrics. Moreover, the incorporated ZnO in the binary coat increased the UPF for two to threefold than the stand-alone Alum coating, specially in case of PET coated fabric. Water absorbance and moisture regain of ZnO and Alum/ZnO coated fabrics showed a decrease over the blank samples, due to the usage of oligomer/monomer combination. On contrary, Alum showed a hydrophilic effect with the increase in its content in the formulation. Surface Electron Microscope showed the homogenous coating of fibers. X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and water vapor permeability were also tested for coated samples.  相似文献

A novel competition dialysis assay was used to investigate the structural selectivity of a series of substituted 2-(2-naphthyl)quinoline compounds designed to target triplex DNA. The interaction of 14 compounds with 13 different nucleic acid sequences and structures was studied. A striking selectivity for the triplex structure poly dA:[poly dT](2) was found for the majority of compounds studied. Quantitative analysis of the competition dialysis binding data using newly developed metrics revealed that these compounds are among the most selective triplex-binding agents synthesized to date. A quantitative structure-affinity relationship (QSAR) was derived using triplex binding data for all 14 compounds used in these studies. The QSAR revealed that the primary favorable determinant of triplex binding free energy is the solvent accessible surface area. Triplex binding affinity is negatively correlated with compound electron affinity and the number of hydrogen bond donors. The QSAR provides guidelines for the design of improved triplex-binding agents.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of combined (forced–free) convection in vertical eccentric annuli with simultaneously developing hydrodynamic and thermal boundary layers. A bipolar model has been developed and a numerical algorithm for solving this model is outlined. Results, not available in the literature, are presented for the developing velocity profiles, axial variation of pressure, full development length, and heat transfer parameters under thermal boundary conditions of having one of the annulus boundaries at a constant temperature while the other boundary is insulated. Both aiding and opposing free convection have been considered and possibilities of flow reversal occurrence have also been checked. After a distance from the channel entrance and provided that the value of Gr/Re is sufficiently large, aiding free convection can develop to overcome the fluid friction and the eccentric annular channel eventually works as a diffuser. The value of Gr/Re for which a vertical eccentric annular channel can work as a diffuser decreases as the eccentricity increases. The axial distance from the entrance at which the channel starts to work as a diffuser decreases as Gr/Re increases.  相似文献

Six novel asymmetrical monomethine cyanine dyes were synthesized via the condensation reaction of 1‐butyl‐2‐(methylthio)benzo[c,d]indol‐1‐ium iodide and various 1,5‐substituted indolenine salts under basic conditions. The dyes were characterized using UV–vis spectroscopy, fluorescence, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectrometry; furthermore, the purity of these compounds was observed using LC/ELSD/MS.  相似文献

Summary: Organophilized montmorillonite‐epoxy and ‐polyurethane nanocomposites, useful for packaging applications, were prepared and their oxygen permeability was measured. The composite morphology was mixed, exfoliated and intercalated, as shown by wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction (WAXRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The gas‐barrier performance of the polyurethane composites was better than that of the epoxy composites due to more exfoliation. The average aspect ratio of the montmorillonite platelets in the nanocomposites could be estimated from the reduction in permeability by a numerical finite element approach.

On our way to discovering and developing compounds that have an antioxidant impact compared to ascorbic acid and other biological activities, we designed, synthesized, and evaluated a new series of heterocyclic moieties drugs (1–11) as antioxidants and antimicrobial agents. As starting moieties, these new candidates were derived from two promising heterocyclic compounds, imidazoldin-4-one and thiazol-4-one. Firstly, diphenylimidazol 1 was obtained because of the cyclo condensation one-pot ternary reaction of urea, aniline, and chloroacetic acid under thermal conditions. Out of this starting compound, we could design and create new vital rings such as purine and triazine as in compounds 5 and 6, respectively. Secondly, the start thiazole derivative 7 was obtained from the intermolecular cyclization of thiourea, chloroacetic acid, p-nitobezaldehyde in the presence of sodium acetate. We synthesized various derivatives from this second starting compound 7 by being subjected to different reagents such as aniline, phenylenediamine, phenylhydrazine, and barbituric acid to yield 8, 9, 10, and 11, respectively. Using ascorbic acid as the standard compound, the pharmacological testing for antioxidant activity assessment of the produced derivatives was evaluated against ABTS (2,20-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid). Candidate 6 exhibited the best activity as an antioxidant agent compared to ascorbic acid as a reference compound. Moreover, all compounds were evaluated as antimicrobial agents against a series of bacteria and fungi. Among all synthesized compounds, compound 6 achieved high efficiency against two types of fungi and four kinds of bacteria, as Clotrimazole and Ampicillin were used as the reference agents, respectively. All chemical structures of the novel synthesized candidates were unequivocally elucidated and confirmed utilizing spectroscopical and elemental investigations.  相似文献

Viruses have been a long-term source of infectious diseases that can lead to large-scale infections and massive deaths. Especially with the recent highly contagious coronavirus (COVID-19), antiviral drugs were developed nonstop to deal with the emergence of new viruses and subject to drug resistance. Nitrogen-containing heterocycles have compatible structures and properties with exceptional biological activity for the drug design of antiviral agents. They provided a broad spectrum of interference against viral infection at various stages, from blocking early viral entry to disrupting the viral genome replication process by targeting different enzymes and proteins of viruses. This review focused on the synthesis and application of antiviral agents derived from various nitrogen-containing heterocycles, such as indole, pyrrole, pyrimidine, pyrazole, and quinoline, within the last ten years. The synthesized scaffolds target HIV, HCV/HBV, VZV/HSV, SARS-CoV, COVID-19, and influenza viruses.  相似文献

The synthesis of fluorine-containing small molecules has had numerous benefits of improving the quality and efficiency of many applications of these compounds. For example, fluorine adds promising functionalities in various areas of imaging (MRI, PET, and NIR); gives cell-targeting properties; and has demonstrated improvements in cell permeability, solubility, and other pharmacologic properties. For these and other numerous reasons, fluorination of molecules has grown in popularity in various fields of chemistry. Many reports show the effects observed from increasing the number of fluorine atoms on a fluorophore scaffold. This report will cover the most significant applications and improvements that fluorine has contributed to in various dye scaffolds such as BODIPY, rhodamine, phthalocyanine, and cyanine in the recent decade.  相似文献
