Using the field emission retarding potential method true work functions have been measured for the following monocrystalline substrates: W(110), W(111), W(100), Nb(100), Ni(100), Cu(100), Ir(110) and Ir(111). The electron elastic and inelastic reflection coefficients from several of these surfaces have also been examined near zero primary beam energy.  相似文献

Cation vacancies on both sublattices (V(Ti), V(Sr)) have been identified in homoepitaxial pulsed laser deposited SrTiO3 films using high intensity variable energy positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) measurements. Film nonstoichiometry was varied by varying laser fluence. PALS showed that on increasing the fluence above the Ti/Sr~1 value, the concentration ratio [V(Sr)]/[V(Ti)] systematically increased. Reducing the fluence into the Ti-poor region below resulted in additional vacancy cluster defect formation. Vacancy concentrations greater than ~50 ppm were observed in all films.  相似文献

We model combined photoassociation and Feshbach resonances in a Bose-Einstein condensate. When the magnetic field is far-off resonance, cross coupling between the two target molecules--enabled by the shared dissociation continuum--leads to an anomalous dispersive shift in the position of laser resonance, as well as unprecedented elimination and enhancement of resonant photoassociation via quantum interference. For off-resonant lasers, a dispersive shift and quantum interference appear similarly in resonant three-body Feshbach losses, except that the Feshbach node is tunable with intensity.  相似文献

In this work, we present a novel methodology for incorporating the effect of fibre surface morphology on liquid water transport in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell gas diffusion layers (GDLs). Roughness features presented on the surface of the fibre are analysed using atomic force microscopy and are found to significantly impact the capillary pressure of liquid water pathways propagating through the GDL. A threshold capillary pressure was defined as the largest capillary pressure exhibited by the liquid water phase during the invasion of the throat. The threshold capillary pressures observed in the presence of roughness features are significantly greater than those in the absence of roughness features. Two-dimensional circumferential roughness models in cylindrical and converging-diverging throats are established, and an interfacial meniscus advancing algorithm is presented to determine the resulting threshold capillary pressures required for liquid water penetration. Revised Young–Laplace equations, which are particularly useful for pore network modeling, are suggested for calculating threshold capillary pressures that account for the effect of the roughness of throats with intrinsic contact angles greater than \(90^{\circ }\).  相似文献

The interaction of s-trinitrobenzene with certain aliphatic amines has been studied spectrophotometrically. It is suggested in solutions in ethanol or chloroform, an adduct is initially formed by a dative bond between the nitrogen of the amine molecule and the 2-position in s-trinitrobenzene. We present a simple two-channel mean-field theory for a zero-temperature two-component Fermi gas in the neighborhood of a Feshbach resonance. Our results agree with recent experiments on the bare-molecule fraction as a function of magnetic field [Partridge, Phys. Rev. Lett. 95, 020404 (2005)]. Even in this strongly coupled gas of 6Li, the experimental results depend on the structure of the molecules formed in the Feshbach resonance and, therefore, are not universal.  相似文献

The behaviour of dispersed systems is often controlled by the composition of the interface between the different phases. Because of the inherent differences between proteins and surfactants, when both are present at the interface complex pseudo two-dimensional structures can be formed. This review brings together work that allows these structures to be explained in terms of the interactions involved. The significance of both the interactions and the structures is discussed in terms of the effect on bulk properties in colloidal systems.  相似文献
