The spin-orbit problem in celestial mechanics describes the motion of an oblate satellite moving on a Keplerian orbit around a primary body. We apply the conjugate points criterion for the nonexistence of rotational invariant tori. We treat both the conservative case and a case including a dissipative effect modeling a tidal torque generated by internal nonrigidity. As a by-product of the conjugate points criterion we obtain a global view of the dynamics, thanks to the introduction of a tangent orbit indicator, which allows us to discern the dynamical character of the motion.  相似文献

A review of conventional testing methods for applying external hydrostatic pressure to buckling-critical shells is presented. A new “volume-control” pressure testing method, aimed at preventing catastrophic specimen failures and improving control of specimen deformation near the critical load, is also introduced. The implementation of conventional and volume-control systems in an experimental program involving the destructive pressure testing of ring-stiffened cylinders is described. The volume control method was found to improve control of the specimen deformations, especially near the critical load, and catastrophic failures observed while using a conventional setup were avoided. The quasi-static tracking of post-collapse load-deformation relationships for snap-through buckling behaviour was possible while using a volume-control system, but precise control of dynamic shell deformations during buckling was not achieved for specimens failing with large buckling lobes. Expressions for estimating the available control over specimen deformations for pressure testing systems are presented.  相似文献

The alloy systems Mn2?xFexSb and Mn1.98?xCrxFe0.02Sb have been investigated by Mössbauer spectroscopy of 57Fe in the region x? 0.2.In Mn2?xFexSb the spinflop transition known to exist in pure Mn2Sb at Tt = 240 K is observed. At Tt the magnetic hyperfine field H changes from -50 to -80 kOe and the electric quadrupole interaction QS from positive to negative with increasing T. The value of ΔH at Tt can be understood in terms of dipolar contributions to H. Fe is deduced to occupy the MnI sites in the lattice.In Mn1.98?xCrxFe0.02Sb the transition from the ferrimagnetic to the antiferromagnetic state is observed. In the antiferromagneti c state we find | H| ≈ 15 kOe.  相似文献

The scaling properties of the free energy, specific heat, and mean spacing are calculated for classical Frenkel-Kontorova models at low temperature, in three regimes: near the integrable limit, the anti-integrable limit, and the sliding-pinned transition (transition by breaking of analyticity). In particular, the renormalization scheme given in previous work for ground states of Frenkel-Kontorova models is extended to nonzero-temperature Gibbs states, and the hierarchical melting phenomenon of Vallet, Schilling, and Aubry is put on a rigorous footing.  相似文献
