The present contribution describes the synthesis and structural characterization of structurally diverse organoaluminum species supported by variously substituted aminophenolate-type ligands: these Al complexes are all derived from the reaction of AlMe3 with aminophenols 2-CH2NH(R)-C6H3OH (1a, R = mesityl (Mes); 1b, R = 2,6-di-isopropylphenyl (Diip)) and 2-CH2NH(R)-4,6-tBu2-C6H2OH (1c, R = Mes; 1d, R = Diip). The low temperature reaction of AlMe3 with 1a–b readily affords the corresponding Al dimeric species [μ-η1,η1-N,O-{2-CH2NH(R)-C6H4O}]2Al2Me4 (2a–b), consisting of twelve-membered ring aluminacycles with two μ-η1,η1-N,O-aminophenolate units, as determined by X-ray crystallographic studies. Heating a toluene solution of 2a (80 °C, 3 h) affords the quantitative and direct formation of the dinuclear aluminium complex Al[η2-N; μ,η2-O-{2-CH2N(Mes)-C6H4O}](AlMe2) (4a) while species 2b, under the aforementioned conditions, affords the formation of the Al dimeric species [η2-N,O-{2-CH2N(Dipp)-C6H4O}AlMe]2 (3b), as deduced from X-ray crystallography for both 3b and 4a. In contrast, the reaction of bulky aminophenol pro-ligands 1c–d with AlMe3 afford the corresponding monomeric Al aminophenolate chelate complexes η2-N,O-{2-CH2NH(R)-4,6-tBu2-C6H2O}AlMe2 (5c–d; R = Mes, Diip; Scheme 3) as confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis in the case of 5d. Subsequent heating of species 5c–d yields, via a methane elimination route, the corresponding Al-THF amido species η2-N,O-{2-CH2N(R)-4,6-tBu2-C6H2O}Al(Me)(THF) (6c–d; R = Mes, Diip). Compounds 6c–6d, which are of the type {X2}Al(R)(L) (L labile), may well be useful as novel well-defined Lewis acid species of potential use for various chemical transformations. Overall, the sterics of the aminophenol backbone and, to a lesser extent, the reaction conditions that are used for a given ligand/AlMe3 set essentially govern the rather diverse “structural” outcome in these reactions, with a preference toward the formation of mononuclear Al species (i.e. species 5c–d and 6c–d) as the steric demand of the chelating N,O-ligand increases. 相似文献

An isomeric series of dehydro[m]pyrido[n]annulenes incorporating strained 1,4-buta-1,3-diyne units have been synthesized, where m = 2, n = 14 (1a-d); m = 2, n = 15 (2a,b); and m = 3, n = 15 (3). The number of pyridine rings and annulene ring π-electrons are denoted by m and n, respectively. The X-ray crystal structures of 1b and 1c confirmed their cyclic formulation. All macrocycles were found to be luminescent chromophores with differing isomer-dependent proton and metal ion-sensory emission responses, which appear collectively as analyte-specific color patterns. Within the series studied, 1a was singular in displaying the highest luminescence quantum yield and sharing the strongest emission energy and molar absorption changes upon protonation and Hg(II) binding. Spectroscopic and electrochemical results were supported by density functional theory calculations in showing 1a, 2a, and 3 to be low bandgap materials with lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals delocalized over the 1,4-di(pyridin-4-yl)buta-1,3-diyne bridges that provide a pathway for electronic communication between the nitrogens. Overall, the investigations suggest that 1a, 2a, and 3 would be excellent ligands for the construction of novel conjugated hybrid metallosupramolecular nanostructures, polymers, and ion-sensory systems. 相似文献

Rhodium-catalyzed reactions of 2-aryl-substituted 2H-chromenes with α-diazo esters prepared from dimethyl and tert-butyl methyl malonates were investigated, and the results were compared with reactions carried out with phenyliodonium ylides prepared from the same esters. The phenyliodonium ylide prepared from dimethyl malonate was found to give superior yields of cyclopropane products compared to the corresponding α-diazo equivalent. However, this result was reversed with tert-butyl methyl malonate when Rh2(S-TBSP)4 was used to decompose the diazo compound. We have theoretically studied the non‐identity SN2 reactions of MnOH(n?1)+CH3Cl (M+=Li+, Na+, K+, and MgCl+; n=0, 1) in the gas phase and in THF solution at the OLYP/6‐31++G(d,p) level using polarizable continuum model (PCM) implicit solvation. We want to explore and understand the effect of the metal counterion M+ and solvation on the reaction profile and the stereoselectivity of these processes. To this end, we have explored the potential energy surfaces of the backside (SN2‐b) and frontside (SN2‐f) pathways. The self-deactivation of polystyryl-barium and polystyryl-strontium in tetrahydrofuran (THF) results essentially from protonation by the solvent. The deactivation constant kd of this reaction is independent of carbanion concentration, length, and functionality of chains. Relations of kd with temperature are: polystyryl-barium: kd = 6.25 × 107 exp(-18,900/RT) sec?1; polystyryl-strontium: kd = 4.1 × 106 exp(?16,000/RT) sec?1. Abstract— The steady-state (254 nm) photolysis of 9–(β-d-erythropentofuranosyl)adenine (adenosine) in aqueous solution was studied. Photodestruction yields on the order of 1.3 × 10−3) were determined at room temperature by measuring the initial decrease in the absorption maximum as a function of irradiation time. The use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) permitted a more exact determination of the yield (2.5 × 103 ). The formation of photoproducts was also studied using HPLC. In the photolysis of 50 μ M aqueous solutions of adenosine under anaerobic conditions at least 11 stable photoproducts are formed that absorb at 260 nm, the wavelength of maximum absorption of adenosine. The major photoproduct was also isolated and characterized as adenine; its formation yield was determined to be 4.5 × 104 . This yield is affected by the presence of oxygen and by the initial concentration of adenosine employed. Fluorescence emission and excitation spectra were used to monitor the formation of highly fluorescent photoproducts that emit with maxima at 365, 398 , and 430 nm and absorb in the wavelength region of 240–380 nm.

We describe an exciting opportunity for affinity biosensing using a ratiometric approach to the angular-dependent light scattering from bioactivated and subsequently aggregated noble metal colloids. This new model sensing platform utilizes the changes in particle scattering from very small colloids, which scatter light according to traditional Rayleigh theory, as compared to the changes in scattering observed by much larger colloidal aggregates, formed due to a bioaffinity reaction. These larger aggregates no longer scatter incident light in a Cos(2) theta dependence, as is the case for Rayleigh scattering, but instead scatter light in an increased forward direction as compared to the incident geometry. By subsequently taking the ratio of the scattered intensity at two angles, namely 90 degrees and 140 degrees , relative to the incident light, we can follow the association of biotinylated bovine serum albumin-coated 20 nm gold colloids, cross-linked by additions of streptavidin. This new model system can be potentially applied to many other nanoparticle assays and has many advantages over traditional fluorescence sensing and indeed light-scattering approaches. For example, a single nanoparticle can have the equivalent scattered intensity as 10(5) fluorescing fluorescein molecules substantially increasing detection; the angular distribution of scattered light from noble metal colloids is substantially easier to predict as compared to fluorescence; the scattered light is not quenched by biospecies; the ratiometric measurements described here are not dependent on colloid concentration as are other scattering techniques; and finally, the noble metal colloids are not prone to photodestruction, as is the case with organic fluorophores. 相似文献

A systematic evaluation of various fractal analysis methods is essential for studying morphologies of finite and noisy experimental patterns such as domains of long chain alkanes at SiO(2)/air interfaces. The derivation of trustworthy fractal dimensions crucially relies on the definition of confidence intervals for the assumed scaling range. We demonstrate that the determination of the intervals can be improved largely by comparing the scaling behavior of different morphological measures (area, boundary, curvature). We show that the combination of area and boundary data from coarse-grained structures obtained with the box-counting method reveals clear confidence limits and thus credible morphological data. This also holds for the Minkowski density method. It also reveals the confidence range. Its main drawback, the larger swing-in period at the lower cutoff compared to the box-counting method, is compensated by more details on the scaling behavior of area, boundary, and curvature. The sandbox method is less recommendable. It essentially delivers the same data as box-counting, but it is more susceptible to finite size effects at the lower cutoff. It is found that the domain morphology depends on the surface coverage of alkanes. The individual domains at low surface coverage have a fractal dimension of approximately 1.7, whereas at coverages well above 50% the scaling dimension is 2 with a large margin of uncertainty at approximately 50% coverage. This change in morphology is attributed to a crossover from a growth regime dominated by diffusion-limited aggregation of individual domains to a regime where the growth is increasingly affected by annealing and the interaction of solid growth fronts which approach each other and thus compete for the alkane supply. 相似文献

With the rise in fluorinated pharmaceuticals, it is becoming increasingly important to develop new 19F NMR-based methods to assist in their analysis. Crucially, obtaining information regarding the conformational dynamics of a molecule in solution can aid the design of strongly binding therapeutics. Herein, we report the development of a 2D 1H–19F Heteronuclear Overhauser Spectroscopy (HOESY) experiment to measure 1H–19F internuclear distances, with accuracies of ~5% when compared with 1H–19F internuclear distances calculated by quantum chemical methods. We demonstrate that correcting for cross-relaxation of 1H, using the diagonal peaks from the 2D 1H–1H Nuclear Overhauser Enhancement Spectroscopy (NOESY), is critical in obtaining accurate values for 1H–19F internuclear distances. Finally, we show that by using the proposed method to measure 1H–19F internuclear distances, we are able to determine the relative stereochemistry of two fluorinated pharmaceuticals. 相似文献
