Main products and nature of the decomposition of π-allyl-carbonyl complexes of iron

Conclusions The decomposition of C₃H₅Fe(CO)₃X, where X=I, NO₃, under various conditions has been studied. Its decomposition has given products of the doubling of the allyl radical and iron carbonyl and, in polar media, propylene as well. Synthesis of Bis(2-benzofuranyl) Diselenides from 4-(2-Hydroxyaryl)-1,2,3-selenadiazoles

4-(2-Hydroxyaryl)-1,2,3-selenadiazoles obtained by the action of selenium(IV) oxide on o-hydroxyacetophenone semicarbazones are readily converted into the corresponding potassium benzofuran- 2-selenolates via reaction with potassium carbonate. Oxidation of potassium benzofuran-2-selenolates with iodine gives bis(2-benzofuranyl) diselenides in good yields.     

Synthesis and reactivity of 5-and 6-hydroxy-benzo[b]furan-2-selenolates

Treatment of 2,4-and 2,5-diacetoxyacetophenone semicarbazones with selenium dioxide gave 4-(2,4-and 2,5-diacetoxyphenyl)-1,2,3-selenadiazoles which were readily deacylated by the action of hydrochloric acid. 4-(2,4-and 2,5-Dihydroxyphenyl)-1,2,3-selenadiazoles thus obtained underwent decomposition in the presence of potassium carbonate in acetonitrile with formation of 5-and 6-hydroxybenzo[b]furan-2-selenolates which were subjected to alkylation.     

Nonlinear-optical and structural properties of nanocrystalline silicon carbide films

The aim of this study is to investigate the nonlinearity of refraction in nanostructured silicon carbide films depending on their structural features (synthesis conditions for such films, substrate temperature during their deposition, concentration of the crystalline phase in the film, Si/C ratio of atomic concentrations in the film, and size of SiC nanocrystals formed in the film). The corresponding dependences are obtained, as well as the values of nonlinear-optical third-order susceptibility χ⁽³⁾(ω; ω, −ω, ω) for various silicon polytypes (3C, 21R, and 27R) which exceed the value of χ⁽³⁾ in bulk silicon carbide single crystals by four orders of magnitude.     

Synthesis of branched deuterohydrocarbons,containing deuterium at a tertiary carbon atom

Conclusions A method for the synthesis of branched deuterohydrocarbons, containing duterium attached to a tertiary carbon atom, was proposed on the basis of the ionic hydrogenation reaction.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 7, pp. 1562–1563, July, 1971.
