Tuning the Charge Transport in Nickel Salicylaldimine Polymers by the Ligand Structure

The conductivity of the polymeric energy storage materials is the key factor limiting their performance. Conductivity of polymeric NiSalen materials, a prospective class of energy storage materials, was found to depend strongly on the length of the bridge between the nitrogen atoms of the ligand. Polymers obtained from the complexes containing C₃ alkyl and hydroxyalkyl bridges showed an electrical conductivity one order of magnitude lower than those derived from more common complexes with C₂ alkyl bridges. The observed difference was studied by means of cyclic voltammetry on interdigitated electrodes and operando spectroelectrochemistry, combined with density functional theory (DFT) calculations.     

Elastic scattering of 86 MeV9Li and 55 MeV6He on208Pb

The cross sections of elastically scattered⁹Li and⁶He on²⁰⁸Pb were measured. The scattered particles were detected by an annular CR-39 solid state nuclear track detector and the monitoring was done with a triple telescope of silicon detectors. The classical and optical model analyses of the measured elastic cross sections have been carried out. It was shown that the peripheral⁹Li interaction region has a rather high transparency. Strong dynamical polarization of⁹Li ions in the process of scattering is suggested.     

Spiropyrans: Synthesis,Properties, and Application. (Review)

Published data on the synthesis and structural modification of spiropyrans and bisspiropyrans and production of the heteroanalogs of spiropyrans are classified and analyzed. The chemical characteristics of spiropyrans, including complexation of the open-chain isomers and cyclic forms are examined. Special attention is paid to the photochromic characteristics of spiropyrans at interfaces between phases.Dedicated to our tutor Academician V. I. Fusion-fission reactions induced by 6He-ions

The experimentally measured excitation functions for the fission and 4n evaporation channels are presented for the ⁶He + ²⁰⁹Bi reaction. The secondary ⁶He beam was produced using the special beam line (Q4DQ-spectrometer) of the U400M accelerator at FLNR, JINR. The comparison of the obtained experimental data with similar results for the ⁴He + ²⁰⁹Bi reaction shows that in the case of the ⁶He + ²⁰⁹Bi reaction a significant enhancement of the cross-section is observed for energies above the barrier. In order to get an agreement between the experimental data and the theoretical calculations it is necessary to reduce the Coulomb barrier by 15-20% , which corresponds to an increase of the parameter r₀ of the nuclear potential up to 1.5-1.6 fm.
