We report on a study of the dynamics of decoherence of a matter-wave interferometer, consisting of a pair of low-dimensional cold atom condensates at finite temperature. We identify two distinct regimes in the time dependence of the coherence factor of the interferometer: quantum and classical. Explicit analytical results are obtained in both regimes. In particular, in the two-dimensional case in the classical (long time) regime, we find that the dynamics of decoherence is universal, exhibiting a power-law decay with an exponent, proportional to the ratio of the temperature to the Kosterlitz-Thouless temperature of a single 2D condensate. In the one-dimensional case in the classical regime we find a universal nonanalytic time dependence of decoherence, which is a consequence of the nonhydrodynamic nature of damping in 1D liquids. 相似文献

We have investigated the fluorescence properties of dendrimers (Gn is the dendrimer generation number) containing four different luminophores, namely terphenyl (T), dansyl (D), stilbenyl (S), and eosin (E). In the case of T, the dendrimers contain a single p-terphenyl fluorescent unit as a core with appended sulfonimide branches of different size and n-octyl chains. In the cases of D and S, multiple fluorescent units are appended in the periphery of poly(propylene amine) dendritic structures. In the case of E, the investigated luminophore is noncovalently linked to the dendritic scaffold, but is encapsulated in cavities of a low luminescent dendrimer. Depending on the photophysical properties of the fluorescent units and the structures of the dendrimers, different mechanisms of fluorescence depolarization have been observed: (i) global rotation for GnT dendrimers; (ii) global rotation and local motions of the dansyl units at the periphery of GnD dendrimers; (iii) energy migration among stylbenyl units in G2S; and (iv) restricted motion when E is encapsulated inside a dendrimer, coupled to energy migration if the dendrimer hosts more than one eosin molecule. 相似文献

We show that a quantum interference effect in optical absorption from two electronic spin states of a solid-state emitter can be used to prepare the surrounding environment of nuclear spins in well-defined states, thereby suppressing electronic spin dephasing. The coupled electron-nuclei system evolves into a coherent population trapping state by optical-excitation-induced nuclear-spin diffusion for a broad range of initial optical detunings. The spectroscopic signature of this evolution where the single-electron strongly modifies its environment is a drastic broadening of the dark resonance in optical absorption experiments. The large difference in electronic and nuclear time scales allows us to verify the preparation of nuclear spins in the desired state. 相似文献

We describe a technique that enables strong, coherent coupling between individual optical emitters and guided plasmon excitations in conducting nanostructures at optical frequencies. We show that under realistic conditions optical emission can be almost entirely directed into the plasmon modes. As an example, we describe an application of this technique involving efficient generation of single photons on demand, in which the plasmon is efficiently outcoupled to a dielectric waveguide. 相似文献

The synthesis of dendrimers and a chlorosulfo-dendron possessing a unique combination of 1?→?2 and 1?→?4 branching types is described. The procedure consists of a two-step preparation of 3,5-dinitrobenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride, which was used for the persulfonylation of p-toluidine and 4-(benzylthio)aniline. The obtained tetranitro compounds were reduced to the corresponding tetraamines. The latter were decorated with eight 4-toluene sulfonyl groups each to furnish the corresponding dendrimers. Oxidation of the dendrimer possessing a 4-(benzylthio)phenylene core with N-chlorosuccinimide resulted in the formation of a dendron with a sulfonyl chloride functionality at the focal point. 相似文献

Biomimetic materials (biocomposites) with an organic-mineral composition related to natural dental tissues (enamel and dentin) are obtained for the first time and their structural and optical characteristics are studied. It is demonstrated by a complex of structural and spectroscopic methods that in the formation of biocomposites, the introduced organic component, bearing a number of amino acids, does not affect the structure of the inorganic component (carbonate-substituted calcium hydroxyapatite) of the sample. The carbonate-substituted calcium hydroxyapatite synthesized using a biogenic source of calcium, which forms the basis of the biocomposite, has a luminescence spectrum similar to that of apatite tooth enamel. The spectrum of the intact dentin of a human tooth has a broader luminescence band than that for the enamel spectrum. It is determined that both organic and inorganic components contribute to the dentin luminescence band. The features found in the luminescence spectra of intact tissues and in simulating biocomposites can be used to develop a procedure for effective early diagnosis of the demineralization of hard dental tissues and general dental examination. 相似文献
