A series of linear oligo (p-phenylene)s containing three, five and seven phenylene groups, modified with short lateral and long terminal alkoxy chains, were synthesized via Palladium complex-catalysed cross-coupling reactions. The thermotropic liquid crystalline and UV absorption/emission properties of these compounds were studied. It was observed that tri (p -phenylene)s develop a rich mesomorphism including tilted smectic type mesophases (SmC and SmF/SmI) and the nematic phase, whereas penta- and hepta-(p-phenylene)s substituted with short lateral chains develop only the nematic phase. From these observations it is clear that the short lateral chains hinder the layered molecular packing typical of smectic phases and promote the formation of the less ordered liquid-like nematic phase. Mesophases appeared at lower temperatures when longer end chains were used. The optical properties studied by UV-Vis and emission spectroscopy indicate that these systems are promising candidates for blue-emitting layers in electroluminescent devices.  相似文献

This work reports the use of matrices containing Cratylia mollis lectins (Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose) for isolation of glycoproteins from fetal bovine serum, human colostrum, hen egg white, and human blood plasma. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was able to bind a glycoprotein from fetal bovine serum which showed the same fetuin electrophoretic profile. The data indicate that this protein adsorbed to the matrix by interaction with Cramoll 3. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was not efficient to retain glycoproteins from human colostrum or commercial ovalbumin. Cramoll 3-Sepharose bound ovalbumin, and the support retained protein from hen egg white. Protein peaks eluted from the column with 1.0 M NaCl or 0.3 M galactose showed apparent molecular mass of ovalbumin. Two main proteins from blood plasma with apparent molecular mass 67 (similar to albumin) and 50 kDa (similar to fetuin) adsorbed on Cramoll 3-Sepharose and were eluted with 1.0 M NaCl as a single peak. Elution of adsorbed plasma proteins with 0.3 M galactose was less selective than with 1.0 M NaCl as revealed by SDS-PAGE. In conclusion, the Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose matrices were useful to separate glycoproteins from complex protein mixtures, and the adsorption phenomena was a carbohydrate-dependent event.  相似文献

Lectins are a structurally heterogeneous group of proteins or glycoproteins with at least one noncatalytic domain binding reversibly to a specific mono- or oligosaccharide. Monocot mannose-binding lectins are an extended superfamily of structurally and evolutionarily related proteins. In this study, we evaluated anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive effects of monocot lectin from the Canna limbata seeds (CLL). To accomplish this, CLL was purified and subjected to pharmacological assays: abdominal writhing induced by acetic acid, formalin, hot plate and Zymosan A-induced peritonitis tests. The CLL was purified by chromatographic chitin column, and the relative mass of 21 kDa observed in electrophoresis was confirmed by electrospray mass spectrometry, which also revealed that purified CLL consists of a dimer having a weight of 49,676 Da. The CLL showed nociceptive activity in the acetic acid test as well as peripheral antinociceptive response. The CLL also showed anti-inflammatory effect with the reduction of inflammation in the formalin test and neutrophil migration into the peritoneal cavity. This is the first report of anti-inflammatory activity for a monocot lectin, and it suggests a new pharmacological tool to understand inflammatory and antinociceptive processes mediated through lectins.  相似文献

Large-scale amine-based CO2 capture will generate waste containing large amounts of ammonia, in addition to contaminants such as the actual amine as well as degradation products thereof. Monoethanolamine (MEA) has been a dominant amine applied so far in this context. This study reveals how biological N removal can be achieved even in systems heavily contaminated by MEA in post- as well as pre-denitrification treatment systems, elucidating the rate-limiting factors of nitrification as well as aerobic and denitrifying biodegradation of MEA. The hydrolysis of MEA to ammonia readily occurred both in post- and pre-denitrification treatment systems with a hydraulic retention time of 7 h. MEA removal was ≥99?±?1 % and total nitrogen removal 77?±?10 % in both treatment systems. This study clearly demonstrates the advantage of pre-denitrification over post-denitrification for achieving biological nitrogen removal from MEA-contaminated effluents. Besides the removal of MEA, the removal efficiency of total nitrogen as well as organic matter was high without additional carbon source supplied.  相似文献

Considering the importance of alkaloids in tobacco smoke, their presence was evaluated in real work environments. Sampling was carried out with fixed pumps and eventual degradation of the alkaloids during collection and storage until analysis was tested. A quantification method with an alternative internal standard (quinaldine) was evaluated and proposed. Offices and leisure rooms with high smoking intensity were chosen in order to detect minor alkaloids. The correlation between the environmental tobacco smoke markers - nicotine, 3-ethenylpyridine and myosmine - and the minor compounds was evaluated and all R2 were higher than 0.538. Nicotine levels quantified in the office rooms ranged from 0.02 to 64.67pg/m3 and a maximum of 129.33pg/m3 was found in one leisure room with very high smoking intensity. Myosnline and nicotyrine were the most abundant minor alkaloids and very high contents were. quantified in the leisure room mentioned previously.  相似文献

A clean-up procedure based on a solid-phase extraction column was optimized for determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in lichen extracts to remove co-extracted compounds from the matrix in the final extract. Several kinds of solid phases were evaluated: normal phase (-NH2 and alumina), strong anion exchange and reversed phase. The -NH2 columns were the most effective by using a packed solid bed of 500?mg. The lichen raw extract was loaded on the column previously conditioned with dichloromethane and hexane. Hexane (0.5?mL) was used as rinsing solvent, and PAHs were quantitatively eluted (80–97%) using 2?mL of hexane–dichloromethane (65–35) as eluting solvent. In these conditions, even the heaviest PAHs were quantitatively eluted. The optimized SPE method provides a short time and low-solvent-consumption sample clean-up compared with other conventional methods based on column chromatography. The analytical procedure, dynamic sonication-assisted extraction, followed by the optimized solid-phase extraction clean-up, was used to determine the 16 EPA priority PAHs from native lichens collected from the Aragon valley in central Pyrenees. The PAH concentrations in lichen samples ranged from 352 to 1654?ng?g?1, and the minimum concentration value was established as the regional reference PAH levels in the area.  相似文献

In this work, an all the way green analytical procedure based on a silicon oxide film-solid phase extraction system is proposed for lead traces determination. From the synthesis of a solid phase extraction (SPE) system and throughout the metal preconcentration and determination only aqueous media were employed. Characterisation of the film was carried out by Scanning Electron Microscopy and Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. Preconcentration conditions, prior to Pb(II) Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (ETAAS) determination, such as adsorption and desorption time, pH and temperature, were optimised. Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm models were analysed along with the evaluation of adsorption energy and standard free energy (ΔG 0). The greatest adsorption was obtained with incubation at pH 7 and 37°C. By using a small volume of 0.5?mol?L?1 HNO3 (0.5?mL) lead was desorbed from the silicon oxide film after 2?h incubation, generating low amount of waste. The films showed better adjustment for the Langmuir model (R2 ?=?0.989). The detection limit (3.29σ) for Pb(II) was 0.228?µg?L?1. The developed procedure is 10-fold more sensitive in comparison to direct ETAAS determination. Recovery values from soft tap-water and soft well-water were above 95%. When hard water was analysed, Pb(II) adsorption was found to be interfered by Mg2+ and Ca2+. After five preconcentration cycles relative recovery was found not to decay below 90%, indicating that the silicon oxide film could be used for multiple lead determinations.  相似文献

2-(2-Aminoethylamino)ethanol (L) reacts with cupric bromide in dimethylformamide to give a mononuclear complex of Cu(II) [L2Cu]Br2, with six-coordinate distorted octahedral geometry, in which two molecules of tridentate (N,N,O) ligand are involved. The structure was confirmed by spectroscopic methods, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses, and magnetic measurements. Optimization of possible configurations indicated the formation of the trans structure of the complex. Experimental results indicate that the investigated complex, bis[2-(2-aminoethylamino)ethanol] copper(II) bromide, behaves as a semiconductor in the studied temperature range of 298–388 K. Gas sensing properties of the film for the volatile organic compounds (VOCs): acetone, tetra-chloromethane, chloroform, ethanol, and methanol, were also investigated as a function of vapor concentration and temperature in dark. The film showed maximum sensitivity to tetrachloromethane and ethanol vapors at room temperature. Responses of the film to the tested gases are reversible.  相似文献

A copper‐catalyzed reaction of propargyl 4,6‐di‐O‐acetyl‐2,3‐dideoxy‐α‐Derythro‐hex‐2‐enopyranoside with 3(4‐azidophenyl)‐1,2,4‐oxadiazoles gave the corresponding hexenopyranosides bearing an 1,2,4‐oxadiazole subunit in the aglyconic part of the molecule. The same reaction between ethyl 4‐azido‐2,3,4‐trideoxy‐α‐Derythro‐hex‐2‐enopyranoside and acetylenic 1,2,4‐oxadiazoles afforded the corresponding hexenopyranosides carrying a triazole and a 1,2,4‐oxadiazole ring at C‐4 of the carbohydrate. Combination of the two sequences gave hexenopyranosides displaying two 1,2,4‐oxadiazole subunits, each one being embedded in the C‐1 and C‐4 frameworks, of the carbohydrate moiety. A simple dihydroxylation reaction of these unsaturated carbohydrates yielded a series of mannopyranosides bearing one or two 1,2,4‐oxadiazole subunits at C‐1 or C‐4. These new compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against two cell strains: NCI‐H292 (lung carcinoma) and Hep‐2 (larynx carcinoma), some of them presenting impressive cell growth inhibitions.  相似文献
