Zeise's anion in strongly basic hydroxylated solvents undergoes unprecedented nucleophilic addition of OR- (R = H, Me, Et) to the eta2-ethene giving trans-[PtCl2(eta1-C2H4OR)(OR)]2- which readily reacts with bidentate nitrogen donors N-N to give Cl- and OR- substitution and formation of [PtCl(CH2CH2OR)(N-N)]. Protonolysis of this stable organometallic species offers a versatile route to cationic [PtCl(eta2-C2H4)(N-N)]+ complexes.  相似文献

In this paper two mathematical models are proposed and analyzed to elucidate the influence on a generalist predator of its hidden and explicit resources. Boundedness of the system’s trajectories, feasibility, local and global stability of the equilibria for both models are established, as well as possible local bifurcations. The findings indicate that the relevant behaviour of the system, including switching of stability, extinction and persistence of the involved populations, depends mainly on the reproduction rate of the favorite prey. To achieve full ecosystem survival some balance between the respective grazing pressures exerted by the predator on the prey populations needs to be maintained, while higher grazing pressure just on one species always leads to its extinction.  相似文献

ZnO nanoparticles are synthesized using a new bio-friendly method. The experimental conditions are very mild: aqueous solution at near-neutral pH and 37 degrees C. The as-obtained nanoparticles show the stable wurtzite structure without the need of annealing. The two reagents used are aqueous solutions of zinc nitrate and buffer tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane. This is a standard nontoxic buffer and inert to a wide variety of chemicals and biomolecules, therefore extremely satisfactory for biochemical reactions. Furthermore, this is a polydentade ligand which adsorbs strongly on one or more surfaces of ZnO inhibiting its crystal growth and yielding nearly spherical ZnO nanoparticles. Our objective is to use the crystallization method described here for further incorporation of biomolecules as additives in the reaction solution, aiming at the formation of ZnO with new physical properties.  相似文献

One of the main goals in transportation planning is to achieve solutions for two classical problems, the traffic assignment and toll pricing problems. The traffic assignment problem aims to minimize total travel delay among all travelers. Based on data derived from the first problem, the toll pricing problem determines the set of tolls and corresponding tariffs that would collectively benefit all travelers and would lead to a user equilibrium solution. Obtaining high-quality solutions for this framework is a challenge for large networks. In this paper, we propose an approach to solve the two problems jointly, making use of a biased random-key genetic algorithm for the optimization of transportation network performance by strategically allocating tolls on some of the links of the road network. Since a transportation network may have thousands of intersections and hundreds of road segments, our algorithm takes advantage of mechanisms for speeding up shortest-path algorithms.  相似文献

This paper describes students’ solutions to a commonly taught and not commonly taught inequality. The findings showed students’ difficulties. Participants implicitly and explicitly exhibited two intuitive beliefs: inequalities must result in inequalities and solving inequalities and equations are the same process. Following the analysis of students’ written solutions, individual interviews were conducted that gave a better insight into their reasoning and provided some ideas for teaching. The concluding section of the paper offers relevant educational implications.  相似文献

Implantable medical devices (IMDs) are susceptible to microbial adhesion and biofilm formation, which lead to several clinical complications, including the occurrence of implant-associated infections. Polylactic acid (PLA) and its composites are currently used for the construction of IMDs. In addition, chitosan (CS) is a natural polymer that has been widely used in the medical field due to its antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties, which can be dependent on molecular weight (Mw). The present study aims to evaluate the performance of CS-based surfaces of different Mw to inhibit bacterial biofilm formation. For this purpose, CS-based surfaces were produced by dip-coating and the presence of CS and its derivatives onto PLA films, as well surface homogeneity were confirmed by contact angle measurements, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The antimicrobial activity of the functionalized surfaces was evaluated against single- and dual-species biofilms of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Chitosan-based surfaces were able to inhibit the development of single- and dual-species biofilms by reducing the number of total, viable, culturable, and viable but nonculturable cells up to 79%, 90%, 81%, and 96%, respectively, being their activity dependent on chitosan Mw. The effect of CS-based surfaces on the inhibition of biofilm formation was corroborated by biofilm structure analysis using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), which revealed a decrease in the biovolume and thickness of the biofilm formed on CS-based surfaces compared to PLA. Overall, these results support the potential of low Mw CS for coating polymeric devices such as IMDs where the two bacteria tested are common colonizers and reduce their biofilm formation.  相似文献

Expression of proteins related to cell surveillance has been described in tumors presenting resistance to photodynamic therapy (PDT). The aim of this study was to verify whether there was upregulation of proteins related to resistance in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) after PDT. OSCC was chemically induced in rats and treated after one cycle of PDT mediated by 5‐aminolevulinic acid (5‐ALA‐PDT). Immunolabeling of p‐NFκB, Bcl‐2, survivin, iNOS, p‐Akt, p‐mTOR and cyclin D1 was performed after the treatment. There was increased expression of Bcl‐2 (P = 0.008), iNOS (P = 0.020), p‐Akt (P = 0.020) and p‐mTOR (P = 0.010) by surviving neoplastic cells after PDT when compared to the control. In conclusion, after one cycle of 5‐ALA‐mediated PDT, Bcl‐2, p‐Akt, p‐mTOR and iNOS were upregulated in neoplastic cells of OSCC, suggesting an activation of antiapoptosis and cell proliferation pathways. This fact must be considered in the establishment of PDT protocols for OSCC treatment, mainly those in which PDT will be combined with chemotherapy drugs targeted at the studied proteins.  相似文献
