Hydrogen atoms adsorbed on TiO2(110)-(1x1) surfaces have been characterized by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) combined with electron stimulated desorption (ESD) technique. Certain amounts of H atoms are unexpectedly found on the TiO2 surfaces annealed at 900 K. Two forms of adsorption were discriminated in STM images from the different sensitivity to ESD and tentatively assigned to hydroxyl-type (O-H) and hydride-type (Ti-H) species.  相似文献

Adsorption and thermally-induced dissociation of disilane (Si2H6) on clean Ge(001)2 × 1 surfaces have been investigated using a combination of Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). With initial Si2H6 exposure at room temperature, the Si surface coverage increased monotonically, the EELS surface dangling bond peak intensities continuously decreased, and the intensity of half-order RHEED diffraction rods decreased. The low-coverage Si2H6 sticking probability at 300 K on Ge(001) was found to be 0.5 while the saturation coverage was 0.5 ML. A new EELS feature, GSH, involving Si-H and Ge-H bond states was observed at Si2H6 exposures φ 3.4 × 1013 cm−2. In contrast to Si2H6 -saturated Si(001), the saturated Ge(001) surface significant fraction of dimerized bonds. Adsorbed overlayers were highly disordered with the primary species on saturated surfaces being SiH2, GeH, and undissociated SiH3· Si2H6-saturated Ge(001)2 × 1 substrates were annealed for l min at temperatures Ta between 425 and 825 K. Admolecules were mobile at Ta = 545 K giving rise to significant ordering in one-dimensional chains. By Ta = 605 K, essentially all of the admolecules were captured into coarsened islands. Dangling-bond EELS peaks reappeared by 625 K and the intensities of the half-order RHEED diffraction rods increased. Ge segregation to the surface, which began at Ta 625 K, occurred rapidly at Ta 675 K. All H was desorbed by 725 K.  相似文献

The results of the comparison of product-ion tandem mass (MS/MS) spectra recorded on three ion trap mass spectrometers, a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer and a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer are reported. The spectra were recorded in accordance with a simple experimental protocol, which involved the collision-induced dissociation (CID) attenuation of the abundance of the [M+H]+ ion to between 10 and 50% of its original abundance.The degree of similarity between the spectra from four of the mass spectrometers was calculated off-line by comparing the five most abundant ions from the spectrum on each instrument. A percentage fit value (20% for each ion that matches) was calculated by comparing each spectrum against the spectra recorded for the same compound on each instrument. The percentage of the inter-library pairwise comparisons (total = 434) that matched to > or = 60% ranged from 64-89%, depending on the instrument pair. A blind trial was also undertaken using five unknown compounds resulting in 1670 pairwise comparisons with the library entries. The blind trial produced no false positives and correct identifications in all cases. The results of the study have established the basis for the construction of a transferable product-ion MS/MS library.  相似文献

The antitumor drug bleomycin (BLM) is proposed to act via a low-spin iron(III) hydroperoxide intermediate called "activated bleomycin". To gain more insight into the mechanistic aspects of catalytic oxidation by these intermediates we have studied the reactivity of [(N4Py)Fe(CH3CN)](ClO4)2 (1) (N4Py = N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-N-bis(2-pyridyl)methylamine) with excess H2O2. Under these conditions a transient purple species is generated, [(N4Py)FeOOH]2- (2), which has spectroscopic features and reactivity strongly reminiscent of activated bleomycin. The catalytic oxidation of alkanes such as cyclohexane, cyclooctane, and adamantane by 1 with H2O2 gave the corresponding alcohols and ketones in up to 31% yield. It was concluded, from the O2 sensitivity of the oxidation reactions, the formation of brominated products in the presence of methylene bromide, and the nonstereospecificity of the oxidation of cis- or trans-dimethylcyclohexane, that long-lived alkyl radicals were formed during the oxidations. Oxidation of alkenes did not afford the corresponding epoxides in good yields but resulted instead in allylic oxidation products in the case of cyclohexene, and cleavage of the double bond in the case of styrene. Addition of hydroxyl radical traps, such as benzene and acetone, led to only partial quenching of the reactivity. The kinetic isotope effects for cyclohexanol formation, ranging from 1.5 in acetonitrile to 2.7 in acetone with slow addition of H2O2, suggested the involvement of a more selective oxidizing species in addition to hydroxyl radicals. Monitoring the UV/Vis absorption of 2 during the catalytic reaction showed that 2 was the precursor for the active species. On the basis of these results it is proposed that 2 reacts through homolysis of the O-O bond to afford two reactive radical species: [(N4Py)Fe(IV)O]2+ and *OH. The comparable reactivity of 1 and Fe-BLM raises the possibility that they react through similar mechanistic pathways.  相似文献

Liquid chromatography combined with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS) has been used successfully for the characterization of biomolecules in proteomics in the last few years. This methodology relied largely on the use of reversed-phase chromatography, in particular C18-based resins, which are suitable for separation of peptides. Here we show that polymeric [polystyrene divinylbenzene] monolithic columns can be used to separate peptide mixtures faster and at a higher resolution. For 500 fmol bovine serum albumin, up to 68% sequence coverage and Mascot Mowse scores of >2000 were obtained using a 9 min gradient on a monolithic column coupled to an ion trap mass spectrometer with ultra-fast MS/MS scan rates. In order to achieve similar results using C18 columns, it was necessary to extend gradient times to 30 min. In addition, we demonstrate the utility of this approach for the analysis of whole Escherichia coli cell lysates by one-dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (1D-SDS-PAGE) in combination with LC/MS/MS using 4 min gradients on monolithic columns. Our results indicate higher throughput capabilities of monolithic columns (3-fold gain in time or more) for conventional proteomics applications, such as protein identification and high sequence coverage usually required for detection of post-translational modifications (PTMs). Further optimization of sensitivity and quality of sequence information is discussed, in particular when combined with mass spectrometers that have very fast MS-MS/MS switching and scanning capabilities.  相似文献
