UV radiations are principal causes of skin cancer and aging. Suntan creams were developed to protect epidermis and derma layers against photodegradation and photooxidation. The addition of antioxidant plant extracts (i.e. essential oil) to sunscreens is habitually performed, to increase their UV protective effects and to contrast pro‐radical and cytotoxic compounds present in these solutions. According to these observations, in the present work, the alteration of chemical composition and bioactive properties of Lavandula angustifolia Miller essential oil, exposed to UV light, was investigated. UV induced a significant deterioration of lavender oil biochemical profile. Moreover, the antioxidant activity of this solution, in in vitro tests and directly on B16‐F10 melanoma cells, greatly decreased after UV treatment. Our results also showed that essential oil was shielded from UV stress by propolis addition. Even after UV treatment, bee glue highly protected lavender oil secondary metabolites from degradation and also preserved their antiradical properties, both in in vitro antioxidant assays and in cell oxidative damage evaluations. This research proposed propolis as highly efficient UV protective and antiradical additive for sunscreens, cosmetics and alimentary or pharmaceutical products containing plant extracts.  相似文献

Intensive theoretical and experimental efforts over the past decade have aimed at explaining the discrepancy between data for the proton electric to magnetic form factor ratio, G(E)/G(M), obtained separately from cross section and polarization transfer measurements. One possible explanation for this difference is a two-photon-exchange contribution. In an effort to search for effects beyond the one-photon-exchange or Born approximation, we report measurements of polarization transfer observables in the elastic H(e[over →],e(')p[over →]) reaction for three different beam energies at a Q(2)=2.5 GeV(2), spanning a wide range of the kinematic parameter ε. The ratio R, which equals μ(p)G(E)/G(M) in the Born approximation, is found to be independent of ε at the 1.5% level. The ε dependence of the longitudinal polarization transfer component P(?) shows an enhancement of (2.3±0.6)% relative to the Born approximation at large ε.  相似文献

A study of the magnetic aftereffect in co-precipitated cobalt ferrite is presented. Measurements of the magnetic viscosity S were performed at room temperature along the demagnetization curve for different applied fields Hap over a wide range of fields (0 kOe<Hap<−7 kOe). The interrelation function η=(∂Mrev/∂Mirr)Hi between the DCD reversible Mrev and irreversible Mirr magnetization components was determined as well. The experimental results for Sη(Hi), where Hi is the internal field, showed a broad distribution with a maximum at Hi=2.7 kOe. However, the irreversible susceptibility χirr displays a maximum at Hc=0.75 kOe, the coercivity of the material. The experimental behavior of η and the non-proportionality between Sη and χiirr suggest that the magnetic viscosity in this material is principally supplied by events of nucleation of inverse domains and the depinning of domain walls. When the main mechanism of reversal magnetization changes to rotation of magnetic moments for all the grains, the magnetic viscosity decreases.  相似文献

A study of the experimental behavior of the reversible (Mrev) and the irreversible (Mirr) DCD magnetization components in enhanced-remanence SmCo films was carried out. The evolution of the DCD Mrev and Mirr components were determined at room temperature by measuring sets of first-order reversal curves from different points on the initial magnetization curve and the demagnetization curve. From these data, Mrev(Mirr)Hi curves were built, Hi being the internal field of the sample. Recent studies show that the behavior of the Mrev(Mirr) curves at a constant internal field can be used as an indicator of the mechanism of reversal magnetization. The non-monotonic behavior showed by these curves at low fields in our material, seems to be associated with an incoherent mechanism of magnetization reversal in the nanograins of SmCo.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of new surfactants with peculiar physical-chemical properties are amongst the most promising and expanding issues in pharmacological colloid science. The most used vesicular carriers are liposomes prepared from a wide variety of natural and synthetic phospholipids, but several ionic and non-ionic amphiphiles have been used to form multilamellar and/or unilamellar vesicles. In the present study the synthesis of alpha,omega-trioxyethylene-bis(sodium 2-dodecyloxy-propylenesulfonate), an anionic Gemini surfactant, and its ability to form niosomes are elucidated. The compound forms vesicles with and without added cholesterol. The vesicular systems were characterized by size, shape and drug entrapment efficiency. The compounds to be incorporated are beta-carotene and ferulic acid, as antioxidants, acetyl salicylic acid, as FANS, and the antineoplastic 5-flurouracil, widely used in dermatological disorders. The results of this study show that alpha,omega-trioxyethylene-bis(sodium 2-dodecyloxy-propylenesulfonate) can be used for the preparation of niosomes entrapping lypophilic, amphiphilic or hydrophilic substances. These niosomes may be promising candidates as percutaneous carriers for the aforementioned drugs.  相似文献

Recently, World Health Organization (WHO) and Medicins San Frontieres (MSF) proposed a classification of diseases as global, neglected and extremely neglected. Global diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular and mental (CNS) diseases represent the targets of the majority of the R&D efforts of pharmaceutical companies. Neglected diseases affect millions of people in the world yet existing drug therapy is limited and often inappropriate. Furthermore, extremely neglected diseases affect people living under miserable conditions who barely have access to the bare necessities for survival. Most of these diseases are excluded from the goals of the R&D programs in the pharmaceutical industry and therefore fall outside the pharmaceutical market. About 14 million people,mainly in developing countries, die each year from infectious diseases. From 1975 to 1999,1393 new drugs were approved yet only 1% were for the treatment of neglected diseases[3]. These numbers have not changed until now, so in those countries there is an urgent need for the design and synthesis of new drugs and in this area the prodrug approach is a very interesting field. It provides, among other effects, activity improvements and toxicity decreases for current and new drugs, improving market availability. It is worth noting that it is essential in drug design to save time and money, and prodrug approaches can be considered of high interest in this respect. The present review covers 20 years of research on the design of prodrugs for the treatment of neglected and extremely neglected diseases such as Chagas' disease (American trypanosomiasis), sleeping sickness (African trypanosomiasis), malaria, sickle cell disease, tuberculosis, leishmaniasis and schistosomiasis.  相似文献

The combination of catalytic methods provides multiple advantages in organic synthesis, allowing access to diverse organic molecules in a straightforward manner. Merging metal and enzyme catalysis is currently receiving great attention due to the possibility to assemble metal catalysis in C−C coupling, olefin metathesis, hydration and other reactions with the exquisite stereospecificity displayed by enzymes. Thus, this minireview is organized based on the action of the metal species (Pd, Ru, Au, Ir, Fe…) in combination with different enzymes. Special attention will be paid to the design of sequential processes and concurrent cascades, presenting solutions such as the use of surfactants or compartmentalization strategies for those cases where incompatibilities could hamper the overall process.  相似文献

Supramolecular systems chemistry has been an area of active research to develop nanomaterials with life-like functions. Progress in systems chemistry relies on our ability to probe the nanostructure formation in solution. Often visualizing the dynamics of nanostructures which transform over time is a formidable challenge. This necessitates a paradigm shift from dry sample imaging towards solution-based techniques. We review the application of state-of-the-art techniques for real-time, in situ visualization of dynamic self-assembly processes. We present how solution-based techniques namely optical super-resolution microscopy, solution-state atomic force microscopy, liquid-phase transmission electron microscopy, molecular dynamics simulations and other emerging techniques are revolutionizing our understanding of active and adaptive nanomaterials with life-like functions. This Review provides the visualization toolbox and futuristic vision to tap the potential of dynamic nanomaterials.  相似文献
