We address Anderson localization of light in disordered optical lattices where the disorder strength varies across the transverse direction. Such variation changes the preferred domains where formation of localized eigenmodes is most probable, hence drastically impacting light localization properties. Thus, step-like disorder results in formation of modes with different decay rates at both sides of the interface, while a smoothly varying disorder yields appearance of modes that are extended within weakly disordered domains and rapidly fade away in strongly disordered domains.  相似文献

The dynamics of molecules under strong laser pulses is characterized by large Stark effects that modify and reshape the electronic potentials, known as laser-induced potentials (LIPs). If the time scale of the interaction is slow enough that the nuclear positions can adapt to these externally driven changes, the dynamics proceeds by adiabatic following, where the nuclei gain very little kinetic energy during the process. In this regime we show that the molecular dynamics can be simulated quite accurately by a semiclassical surface-hopping scheme formulated in the adiabatic representation. The nuclear motion is then influenced by the gradients of the laser-modified potentials, and nonadiabatic couplings are seen as transitions between the LIPs. As an example, we simulate the process of adiabatic passage by light induced potentials in Na(2) using the surface-hopping technique both in the diabatic representation based on molecular potentials and in the adiabatic representation based on LIPs, showing how the choice of the representation is crucial in reproducing the results obtained by exact quantum dynamical calculations.  相似文献

An analysis is made of measured ultraviolet erythemal solar radiation (UVER) data recorded during the year 2003 by the networks of the Catalan Weather Service and the Environment Department of Valencia (both on the Spanish Mediterranean coast). Results show a latitudinal variation at sea level, of 3-4% per degree and an increase with altitude of 10% per km. Based on these data the UV Index has been evaluated for the measuring stations. The maximum experimental value of the UV Index was around 9 during the summer, although higher values were recorded at two stations, one at the highest elevation and the other at the lowest latitude. The annual accumulated doses of irradiation on a horizontal plane have been presented as well as the evolution through the year in units of energy, Standard Erythemal Doses and Minimum Erythemal Doses according to different phototypes. Lastly, the UV Index forecast, determined with a multiple scattering radiative transfer model, has been analyzed. Total agreement or only one unit of difference between measured and modelled values was found in 94% of cloud-free cases.  相似文献

The capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) has recently been proposed by our group as a novel technique for outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) characterization (J. Chromatography 1621 (2020) 461047). In present work the impact of selected parameters of CZE method on OMVs isolates analysis was assessed. It was shown that the extension of sample injection plug length significantly improves the detectability of macromolecular aggregates in CZE. Moreover, a negligible adsorption of OMVs to both uncoated and polymer-modified (poly(DMA-GMA-MAPS)) capillary walls was proven. Finally, the relaxation effect as well as deformation/polarization of vesicles were demonstrated to affect OMVs electrophoretic mobility. The significance of these findings was discussed.  相似文献

The existence of photonic stop bands in the self-assembled arrangement of pores in porous anodic alumina structures is investigated by means of rigorous 2D finite-difference time-domain calculations. Self-assembled porous anodic alumina shows a random distribution of domains, each of them with a very definite triangular pattern, constituting a quasi-random structure. The observed stop bands are similar to those of photonic quasicrystals or random structures. As the pores of nanoporous anodic alumina can be infiltrated with noble metals, nonlinear or active media, it makes this material very attractive and cost-effective for applications including inhibition of spontaneous emission, random lasing, LEDs and biosensors.  相似文献

We reveal that lattice interfaces imprinted in nonlocal nonlinear media support surface solitons that do not exist in other similar settings, including interfaces of local and nonlocal uniform materials. We show the impact of nonlocality on the domains of existence and stability of the surface solitons, focusing on new types of dipole solitons residing partially inside the optical lattice. We find that such solitons feature strongly asymmetric shapes and that they are stable in large parts of their existence domain.  相似文献
