Melting gels are a class of organically modified silica gels that are rigid at room temperature, flow at temperature T1 and consolidate at temperature T2 (T2 > T1), when crosslinking is complete. The process of (a) softening, (b) becoming rigid and (c) re-softening can be repeated many times. Mixtures of mono-substituted alkoxysilanes and di-substituted alkoxysilanes have been studied in a systematic way to identify suitable melting gel compositions. The mixtures and the resulting melting gels have been characterized for their softening temperatures and consolidation temperatures. With an interest in using these materials for sealing microelectronics, their physical properties have been measured.  相似文献

Access to novel imine‐substituted 1,2‐azaborinines, as well as highly arylated boracyclohexa‐3,5‐dienes has been developed by ring expansion of boroles with diazoalkanes with varying degrees of steric bulk. The formation of a diazoalkane intermediate is also discussed for the reaction of ortho‐brominated p‐tolyl‐azide with 1,2,3,4,5‐pentaphenylborole. Structural details as well as UV/Vis spectroscopic and cyclic voltammetric data are provided. These boron‐containing heterocycles have the potential to serve as building blocks for boron‐containing materials.  相似文献

N-Heterocyclic carbene catalysed redox isomerisation with reduction about the carbonyl has been developed in the transformation of trienyl esters to tetrasubstituted benzaldehydes. The reaction proceeds in good to excellent yield, and in cases that provide 2,2′-biaryls, enantioselectivity is observed. Mechanistic studies demonstrate the intermediacy of a cyclohexenyl β-lactone, while implicating formation of the homoenolate as turnover limiting.  相似文献

We have exploited the reactivity of antiaromatic boroles, gaining access to aryl‐substituted monocyclic 1,2‐azaborinines. The observed ring‐expansion reaction of inherently electron‐deficient boroles with organometallic and organic azides is demonstrated for representative examples. This substance class is expected to provide a new avenue into 1,2‐azaborinine chemistry, especially in the area of functional organoboron materials. Our results are based on NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy as well as single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography and provide a virtually quantitative approach that also offers numerous points of variation.  相似文献

This Review gives an overview of precursor systems, their processing, and the final precursor‐dependent structure of carbon fibers (CFs) including new developments in precursor systems for low‐cost CFs. The following CF precursor systems are discussed: poly(acrylonitrile)‐based copolymers, pitch, cellulose, lignin, poly(ethylene), and new synthetic polymeric precursors for high‐end CFs. In addition, structure–property relationships and the different models for describing both the structure and morphology of CFs will be presented.  相似文献

A series of Ru(II) complexes, tcc-RuX2(POC4Pyr-P,O)2 (X = Cl (3), Br (4), I (5)), containing the hemilabile phosphine pyrenyl ether ligand 4-{2-(diphenylphosphino)phenoxy}butylpyrene (POC4Pyr (1)) are reported. The synthesis and spectroscopic properties of both the ligand, POC4pyr (1), and ligand oxide, P(=O)OC4pyr 2, and the solid-state structure of 1 are reported. Complexes 3-5 react rapidly with CO to give complexes ttt-RuX2(CO)2(POC4pyr-P)2 (X = Cl (6), Br (7), I (8)). No pyrene excimer emission is detected from 3-5; however, different intensities of excimer emission are observed for 6-8. The intensity of excimer emission decreases through the series, with 6 showing the most intense response. The emission is solely due to intramolecular pyrene excimers at low concentrations (< or =10(-4) M). Comparison of the UV-vis and steady-state fluorescence spectra shows overlap between the low energy d-d absorption of 7 and 8 with excimer emission (480 nm), suggesting nonradiative energy transfer may be occurring. Once excess CO is removed, complexes 6-8 isomerize to cis-dicarbonyl complexes cct-RuX2(CO)2(POC4Pyr-P)2 (X = Cl (9), Br (10), I (11)). The intensity of excimer emission from 9-11 increases with respect to the excimer emission observed for 6-8, with 9 showing a significant increase in excimer intensity.  相似文献

The alkylation reactions of soft scorpionates are reported. The hydrotris(S‐alkyl‐methimazolyl)borate dications (alkyl=methyl, allyl, benzyl), which were prepared by the reaction of TmMe anion and primary alkyl halides, have been isolated and structurally characterised. The reaction is, however, not universally successful. DFT analysis of these alkylation reactions (C?S versus B? H alkylation) indicates that the observed outcome is driven by kinetic factors. Extending the study to incorporate alternative imine thiones (mercaptobenzothiazole, bz; thiazoline, tz) led to the structural characterisation of di[aquo‐μ‐aquohydrotris(mercaptobenzothiazolyl)boratosodium], which contains sodium atoms in the κ3S,S,S coordination mode. Alkylation of Na[Tbz] and Na[tzTtz] leads to decomposition resulting in the formation of the simple S‐alkylated heterocycles. The analysis of the species involved in these reactions shows an inherent weakness in the B? N bond in soft scorpionates, which has implications for their use in more advanced chemistry.  相似文献

Three criteria are evaluated to assess the potential of a dendrimer based on triazines, 1, for use as a vehicle for drug delivery. These criteria are: (1) its ability to solubilize small hydrophobic guests as measured spectrophotometrically; (2) its ability to deliver a drug in vitro as evaluated using a gene reporter assay; and (3) its in vivo toxicity in mice as determined by autopsy and screens of liver and kidney function. Vehicle 1 solubilizes pyrene to a similar extent to dendrimers based on poly(arylether)s, 4, encapsulating approximately 0.2 molecules of pyrene per dendrimer. This activity is approximately 10-fold greater than that of the more polar poly(propyleneimine) and poly(amidoamine) dendrimers, 2 and 3. Gas-phase computational models reveal that both 1 and 4 have cores that are accessible to solvent, suggesting that these dendrimers can occupy much greater volumes than 2 and 3 whose cores are confined toward the interior of the structure. Electrostatic potential maps can be used to rationalize differences in solubilization between 1 and 4. Precipitation results from mixing cationic 1 with the anionic indomethacin, but not with methotrexate, suggesting that the composition of the drug may dictate the scope of delivery applications. Dendrimer 1 solubilizes 10-hydroxycamptothecin and a novel bisindolemethane; approximately four and five molecules of drug per dendrimer are solubilized, respectively. In cell-culture experiments using a luciferase reporter gene assay, the dendrimer:bisindolemethane conjugate shows comparable activity to the bisindolemethane delivered in aqueous DMSO, suggesting that the dendrimer does not preclude delivery of the molecule to an intracellular target. Preliminary toxicology studies of 1 in mice show that this molecule has no adverse toxicity to the kidneys or the liver in single doses delivered intraperitoneally up to 10?mg/kg.  相似文献
