This paper is concerned with the development of a high‐order numerical scheme for the modelling of two‐phase Newtonian flows. The companion paper, herein referred to as Part 2, extends the scheme to two‐phase viscoelastic flows. The particular problem of the collapse of a two‐dimensional bubble in the vicinity of a rigid boundary is considered. The governing equations are discretized using the spectral element method, and the two phases are modelled using a marker particle method. The marker particle scheme is validated using the Zalesak slotted disk rotation test problem. A comprehensive set of results is presented for the problem of bubble collapse near a rigid wall, and qualitative agreement is obtained with other numerical studies and experimental observations. Viscous effects are shown to inhibit bubble collapse and prevent jet formation and are therefore likely to have a mitigating effect on cavitation damage.Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Mössbauer spectra of charge-ordered/valence-mixed GdBaFe2O5 have been analyzed in order to determine the orbital occupancies of the minority-spin d electron as a function of temperature. In the charge-ordered state below the Verwey temperature T V, it occupies the Fe2+ d xz orbital, which is ordered. Above T V, the electron partially occurs also at the trivalent iron and spreads over two additional orbitals, $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$ and $d_{z^{2}}$ . In the valence-mixing state (above T p) also orbital d yz participates. The study illustrates how the Mössbauer electric-field gradient, center shift and internal field jointly reflect the distribution of the minority-spin electron culprit behind the Verwey transition.  相似文献

Phosphorylation of protein tyrosine residues regulates many cell functions and has also been proved to be involved in oncogenesis. Thus, the identification of the phosphotyrosine (pTyr) proteome of cells is a very important task. Since tyrosine phosphorylation represents only around 1% of the total human phosphoproteome, the study of pTyr proteins is rather challenging. Here we report the optimization study of the phosphotyrosine proteome using K562 cells as a model system. A substantial segment of the phosphotyrosine proteome of K562 cells was characterized by immunoaffinity enrichment with 4G10 and PYKD1 antibodies followed by LC-MS/MS analysis. 480 non-redundant pTyr peptides corresponding to 342 pTyr proteins were found. 141 pTyr peptides were not described elsewhere. The mass spectrometry approach involving high-resolving FTMS analysis of precursor ions and subsequent detection of CID fragments in a linear ion trap was considered as optimal. For detection of low abundant pTyr peptides pooling of individual immunoaffinity enrichments for one LC-MS/MS analysis was crucial. The enrichment properties of the monoclonal PYKD1 antibody were presented for the first time, also in comparison to the 4G10 antibody. PYKD1 was found to be more effective for protein enrichment (1.2 and 5% efficiency at peptide and protein level correspondingly), while 4G10 showed better results when peptide enrichment was performed (15% efficiency versus 3.6% at protein level). Substantially different subsets of the phosphoproteome were enriched by these antibodies. This finding together with previous studies demonstrates that comprehensive pTyr proteome characterization by immunoprecipitation requires multiple antibodies to be used for the affinity enrichment.  相似文献

Retinol decomposes rapidly into a number of products, including its aldehyde form, retinal, when introduced into buffer in phospholipid vesicles or ethanol. Interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding protein at low concentrations is found to protect retinol from isomerization and oxidation. The addition of alpha-tocopherol to either liposomes or an ethanolic-buffer solution also prevents decomposition. Neither of these agents interferes with the successful regeneration of pigment with 9-cis retinal in rod outer segment preparations or the restoration of sensitivity by retinoids in isolated rod photoreceptors.  相似文献

In this article we derive a class of cooperative games with non-transferable utility from multiple objective linear programs. This is done in order to introduce the nucleolus, a solution concept from cooperative game theory, as a solution to multiple objective linear problems.We show that the nucleolus of such a game is a singleton, which is characterized by inclusion in the least core and the reduced game property. Furthermore the nucleolus satisfies efficiency, anonymity and strategic equivalence.We also present a polynomially bounded algorithm for computation of the nucleolus. Letn be the number of objective functions. The nucleolus is obtained by solving at most2n linear programs. Initially the ideal point is computed by solvingn linear programs. Then a sequence of at mostn linear programs is solved, and the nucleolus is obtained as the unique solution of the last program.Financial support from Nordic Academy for Advanced Study (NorFA) is gratefully acknowledged.
