A bidirectional hybrid dense-wavelength-division-multiplexing (DWDM)-passive optical network (PON) employing optical injection locking technique on vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) and data comparator, as well as optical injection locking technique on distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB LDs) and amplitude/phase compensator is proposed and demonstrated. Improved performances of bit error rate (BER) and carrier-to-noise ratio/composite second order/composite triple beat (CNR/CSO/CTB) were observed in our proposed bidirectional hybrid DWDM-PON. Bidirectional transmission in bidirectional hybrid DWDM-PON architecture is a very attractive option, the capacity of the optical network can be expanded relatively easily by bidirectional transmission technology.  相似文献

We propose all‐dielectric metasurfaces that can be actively re‐configured using the phase‐change material Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) alloy. With selectively controlled phase transitions on the composing GST elements, metasurfaces can be tailored to exhibit varied functionalities. Using phase‐change GST rod as the basic building block, we have modelled metamolecules with tunable optical response when phase change occurs on select constituent GST rods. Tunable gradient metasurfaces can be realized with variable supercell period consisting of different patterns of the GST rods in their amorphous and crystalline states. Simulation results indicate a range of functions can be delivered, including multilevel signal modulating, near‐field coupling of GST rods, and anomalous reflection angle controlling. This work opens up a new space in exploring active meta‐devices with broader applications that cannot be achieved in their passive counterparts with permanent properties once fabricated.

Steroid ligands can easily diffuse through the cell membrane and this property makes it feasible to be used for in-situ staining of the nuclear receptors. However, nonspecific binding of the internalized ligand probe with the cellular components has caused serious interferences for the detection of receptor-expressing cells. We report a novel gold nanocluster (AuNC)-conjugated estrogen probe that can eliminate nonspecific internalization and accelerate nuclear localization to achieve selective and rapid detection of estrogen receptors (ERs) in live cells. The AuNC, protected by bovine serum albumin (BSA), BSA-AuNCs, was prepared by the synthesis and confirmed to be 1.9 nm in core size and 18 nm in diameter. Ethinyl estradiol was used as the precursor of 17β-estradial (E2) to conjugate with BSA-protected AuNCs via polyethylene glycol linker (E2-PEG/BSA-AuNCs) or to conjugate with Cy3 dyes (E2-Cy3). The conjugated probe was determined to contain five E2 molecules per BSA-AuNC by mass spectrometry and exhibit an emission maximum of around 640 nm, which was not altered by E2 conjugation indicating that the structural integrity of BSA-AuNCs was conserved. E2-PEG/BSA-AuNCs probes were quickly internalized by MCF-7 (ER+) cells and localized to the nuclei in 2 h. Such internalization was sensitive to competition by free E2 and was rarely detected in the controls using either non-conjugated BSA-AuNCs in MCF-7 (ER+) cells or E2-PEG/BSA-AuNCs in MDA-MB-231 (ER-) cells. In contrast to the high specificity of E2-PEG/BSA-AuNCs probe, the uptake of E2-Cy3 probe could not differentiate between MCF-7(ER+) and MDA-MB-231(ER-) cells during the early phases of the treatment. Moreover, nuclear targeting by E2-Cy3 was three times slower than that by the E2-PEG/BSA-AuNC probe. Such accelerated nuclei targeting was consistent with the enhanced cell viability by conjugating E2 with BSA-AuNC. In conclusion, the E2-PEG/BSA-AuNC probes are promising candidates that can be used for the detection of ER+ tumor tissues and the same strategy can be applied to fabricate other steroid probes.  相似文献

We have investigated decoherence in Josephson-junction flux qubits. Based on the measurements of decoherence at various bias conditions, we discriminate contributions of different noise sources. We present a Gaussian decay function extracted from the echo signal as evidence of dephasing due to 1/f flux noise whose spectral density is evaluated to be about (10(-6)Phi0)2/Hz at 1 Hz. We also demonstrate that, at an optimal bias condition where the noise sources are well decoupled, the coherence observed in the echo measurement is limited mainly by energy relaxation of the qubit.  相似文献

Given a family of Riemann surfaces and a holomorphic vector bundle Beilinson and Schechtman construct a canonical connection on the associated determinant bundle. We prove the conjecture which states that their connection coincides with the Quillen connection. This is done by reducing to the case where along fibers are invertible. We study the dissipative effect of the boundary condition in the kinetic theory. We focus our study on the simplest situation of the free molecular flow with diffuse reflection boundary condition and constant boundary temperature, T *. The geometry is also chosen to be the simplest ones, a bounded symmetric domain in ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ : an interval for d = 1, a disk for d = 2, and a ball for d = 3. It is shown that the solution converges to the global Maxwellian with the given boundary temperature T *. We obtain the optimal convergence rates of (t + 1)?d . The stochastic formulation of Shih-Hsien Yu is refined and generalized for our analysis.  相似文献

A side-bump feature in a photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of an InGaN compound was widely observed. With reasonable fitting to PL spectra with three Gaussian distributions, the temperature variations of the peak positions, integrated PL intensities, and peak widths of the main and first side peaks of three InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well samples with different nominal indium contents are shown and interpreted. The existence of the side peaks is attributed to phonon–replica transitions. The variations of the peak position separations and the decreasing trends of the first side peak widths beyond certain temperatures in those samples were explained with the requirement of phonon momentum condition for phonon–replica transitions. In the sample with 25% nominal indium content, the phonon–replica transition could become stronger than the direct transition of localized states.  相似文献

Energy relaxation processes initiated by sudden heating of the vibrational degree of freedom were studied with molecular dynamical method. A unit cell of bee structure containing 128 diatomic molecules with periodic boundary conditions was considered. Compound Morse potential was assumed as the atom-atom interactions. It was found that the logarithra of the equilibration time depends linearly upon a factorf 21 which is proportional to the frequency ratio of the intra- and inter-molecular vibrations. We study the CP-violation effects from two types of neutrino mass matrices with (i) \((M_\nu )_{ee}=0\), and (ii) \((M_\nu )_{ee}=(M_\nu )_{e\mu }=0\), which can be realized by the high-dimensional lepton number violating operators \(\bar{\ell }_R^c\gamma ^\mu L_L (D_\mu \Phi )\Phi ^2\) and \(\bar{\ell }_R^c l_R (D_\mu {\Phi })^2\Phi ^2\), respectively. In (i), the neutrino mass spectrum is in the normal ordering with the lightest neutrino mass within the range \(0.002\,\mathrm{eV}\lesssim m_0\lesssim 0.007\,\mathrm{eV}\). Furthermore, for a given value of \(m_0\), there are two solutions for the two Majorana phases \(\alpha _{21}\) and \(\alpha _{31}\), whereas the Dirac phase \(\delta \) is arbitrary. For (ii), the parameters of \(m_0\), \(\delta \), \(\alpha _{21}\), and \(\alpha _{31}\) can be completely determined. We calculate the CP-violating asymmetries in neutrino–antineutrino oscillations for both mass textures of (i) and (ii), which are closely related to the CP-violating Majorana phases.  相似文献
