Asymptotically stable periodic orbits of a coupled electromechanical system

In this paper an electromechanical system is analyzed. The existence and asymptotic stability of a periodic orbit are obtained in a mathematically rigorous way as well as an expansion of the period by using an adequate small parameter. For the analytical results the main tool used is the regular perturbation theory. Some results, such as the growing of the period according to some powers of the parameters and the relation 2:1 between the period of the cart, which is a part of the electromechanical system, and the period of the current, are compatible with earlier numerical findings.     

Complexes of Tin(IV) Tetrachloride with 3-Formylpyridine Semicarbazone and Thiosemicarbazones

The reaction of tin(IV) tetrachloride with 3-formylpyridine semicarbazone and different 3-formylpyridine thiosemicarbazones produces [Sn(HL)CL 3 ][SnCl 5 ] where HL stands for the neutral ligand. The tin(IV) complexes were characterized using a variety of spectroscopic techniques. Coordination through the pyridine nitrogen occurs in all cases. Solvation studies in DMSO indicated that dissociation of the ligands and their complete replacement by solvent molecules occurs.     

Thermal study of l-alanine, l-threonine, and taurine crystals related to hydrogen bonding

In this study l-alanine, l-threonine, and taurine crystals were characterized through dilatometric technique and thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis. The dilatometric analysis shows that the thermal expansion of the crystals is correlated with the strengths of local hydrogen bonding in the amino acid structures at room temperature. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis of the l-alanine, taurine, and l-threonine crystals have been performed at high temperatures. No clear correlation between the hydrogen bonding strengths and endothermic peak positions was observed.     

Electrochemical Oxidation of Ibuprofen and Its Voltammetric Determination at a Boron‐Doped Diamond Electrode

The electrochemical oxidation of ibuprofen at a boron‐doped diamond electrode (BDDE) and its voltammetric determination is reported for the first time. A well‐defined oxidation peak was observed at around 1.6 V in 0.1 mol L^?1 H₂SO₄ solution with 10 % (v/v) ethanol at the BDDE surface activated by either cathodic or anodic pretreatments. A differential‐pulse voltammetric method for the determination of ibuprofen in pharmaceutical formulations was optimized with a detection limit of 5 µmol L^?1 and compared with the British Pharmacopeia method.     

New Nitrogen Derivatives of Podophyllotoxin and a Novel Access to Dehydroanhydropicropodophyllin

The new compounds podophyllotoxone oxime (3) and epipodophyllotoxin azide (5) were prepared. The known dehydroanhydropicropodophyllin (6) was unexpectedly obtained from podophyllotoxin (1) by treatment with TMSCl/NaI/MeCN.
