New method for determination of equilibrium/kinetic sorption parameters   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We proposed a new method from which kinetic sorption parameters can be estimated using aqueous phase concentration versus time data commonly available from adsorption tests. The method relies on the analytical solution that was solved for two-site reversible sorption kinetics based on mass conservation law for solute in a batch reaction system. In order to validate the method, model parameters were compared with those of three-stage kinetic models available in the literature. It was revealed that model parameters of the two-site kinetics could accurately be estimated as much as other model parameters. Advantage of the new method is acquisition of additional parameter, distribution or partitioning coefficient (Kd) frequently used in the analysis of chemical transfer in the solid–liquid interface.  相似文献

New ferroelectric Pb(Zr,Ti)O3-Pb(Mn,W,Sb,Nb)O3 (PZT-PMWSN) thin film has been deposited on a Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by pulsed laser deposition. Buffer layer was adopted between film and substrate to improve the ferroelectric properties of PZT-PMWSN films. Effect of a Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) and (Pb0.72La0.28)Ti0.93O3 (PLT) buffer layers on the stabilization of perovskite phase and the suppression of pyrochlore phase has been examined. Role of buffer layers was investigated depending on different types of buffer layer and thickness. The PZT-PMWSN thin films with buffer layer have higher remnant polarization and switching polarization values by suppressing pyrochlore phase formation. The remnant polarization, saturation polarization, coercive field and relative dielectric constant of 10-nm-thick PLT buffered PZT-PMWSN thin film with no pyrochlore phase were observed to be about 18.523 μC/cm2, 47.538 μC/cm2, 63.901 kV/cm and 854, respectively.  相似文献

Summary: Carbon molecular‐sieve membranes (CMSMs) have shown great potential for gas separation. They exhibit high selectivity by permitting effective size‐ and shape‐separation between gas molecules of similar molecular dimensions. Hence, the control of their pore size is very important. While previous studies have focused on the conditions of pyrolysis and its effect on CMSM properties, a novel approach is reported here whereby the precursor polymer is chemically modified prior to pyrolysis and the resultant CMSM was investigated for its gas separation properties. Pyrolysis of chemically crosslinked and uncrosslinked Matrimid® resulted in a change in d‐spacing from 5.6 to 3.6 and 3.7 Å, respectively. The crosslinked CMSM also exhibited greater ordering in its packing. The Matrimid‐derived CMSMs exhibited excellent separation properties for CO2/CH4.

Summary: Copolymerization of propylene and 1,4‐divinylbenzene was successfully performed by a MgCl2‐supported TiCl4 catalyst, yielding isotactic poly(propylene) (i‐PP) polymers containing a few pendant styrene groups. With a metalation reaction with butyllithium and a hydrochlorination reaction with dry hydrogen chloride, the pendant styrene groups were quantitatively transformed into benzyllithium and 1‐chloroethylbenzene groups, respectively, which allowed the synthesis of i‐PP‐based graft copolymers by living anionic and atom transfer radical (ATRP) polymerization mechanisms.

The incorporation of styrene pendant groups into isotactic poly(propylene) using a Zeigler–Natta catalyst gave functionalized polymers able to undergo living anionic and atom transfer radical (ATRP) polymerizations.  相似文献

A film of poly(butyl methacrylate) with a surface‐active end group was prepared. The contact angle of the film surface has a higher value as compared with the neat polymer due to the segregation of surface‐active groups. We propose a simple method to obtain the diffusion constant by measuring the contact angle when the film is turned upside‐down and heated.  相似文献

In ionic liquids (ILs), the electric double layer (EDL) is where heterogeneous electron transfer (ET) occurs. Nevertheless, the relationship between the EDL structure and its kinetics has been rarely studied, especially for ET taking place in the inner Helmholtz plane (IHP). This is largely because of the lack of an appropriate model system for experiments. In this work, we determined the reorganization energy (λ) of Br2 reduction in a redox-active IL 1-ethyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium polybromide (MEPBr2n+1) based on the Marcus–Hush–Chidsey model. Exceptionally fast mass transport of Br2 in MEPBr2n+1 allows voltammograms to be obtained in which the current plateau is regulated by electron-transfer kinetics. This enables investigation of the microscopic environment in the IHP of the IL affecting electrocatalytic reactions through reorganization energy. As a demonstration, TiO2-modified Pt was employed to show pH-dependent reorganization energy, which suggests the switch of major ions at the IHP as a function of surface charges of electrodes.

Ultrafast transport of Br2 in a polybromide redox-active ionic liquid allows electron transfer-limited voltammograms of Br2 reduction. The reorganization energy at the inner-Helmholtz plane can be determined based on the Marcus–Hush–Chidsey model.  相似文献

Nowadays, many studies focus on the potential of bamboo as a source of bioactive compounds and natural antioxidants for nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and food sources. This study is a pioneering effort to determine the total phenolic content, total flavonoid content and free radical scavenging activity, as well as the phenolic identification and quantification of Bambusa beecheyana. The study was conducted by using ethanol, methanol, and water for solvent extraction by applying cold maceration, Soxhlet, and ultrasonic-assisted extraction techniques. The results showed that Soxhlet and ultrasonic-assisted Bambusa beecheyana culm extracts had an increase in the extract’s dry yield (1.13–8.81%) but a constant p-coumaric acid (4) content (0.00035 mg/g) as compared to the extracts from the cold maceration. The ultrasonic-assisted extraction method required only a small amount (250 mL) of solvent to extract the bamboo culms. A significant amount of total phenolics (107.65 ± 0.01 mg GAE/g) and flavonoids (43.89 ± 0.05 mg QE/g) were found in the Soxhlet methanol culm extract. The extract also possessed the most potent antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 40.43 µg/mL as compared to the positive control, ascorbic acid. The UHPLC–ESI–MS/MS analysis was carried out on the Soxhlet methanol extract, ultrasonic-assisted extract at 40 min, and cold methanol extract. The analysis resulted in the putative identification of a total of five phenolics containing cinnamic acid derivatives. The two cinnamic acid derivatives, p-coumaric acid (4) and 4-methoxycinnamic acid (5), were then used as markers to quantify the concentration of both compounds in all the extracts. Both compounds were not found in the water extracts. These results revealed that the extract from Soxhlet methanol of Bambusa beecheyana could be a potential botanical source of natural antioxidants. This study provides an important chemical composition database for further preclinical research on Bambusa beecheyana.  相似文献
