A novel thin layer cell equipped with thin layer gas electrode (TLGE) was studied as electrochemical gas sensor for the measurement of dissolved oxygen in water or aqueous solutions. The working electrode (TLGE) is a hydrophobic gas diffusing electrode placed between the cell electrolyte and the solution to be tested. The hydrophobic pores in TLGE serve as a gas chamber. After the sampling period, in which the partial pressure of dissolved oxygen in test solution becomes in equilibrium with that in the gas chamber, the TLGE is polarized with square wave or linear potential signal. Then the Faradaic charge (Q) consumed in depletion of the oxygen contained in pores of TLGE is measured. The main merits of this system are good linearity between the partial pressure of dissolved oxygen in test solution and Q, low zero-reading, negligible liquid-gas difference, convenient calibration and very low temperature coefficient (ca. 0.5%/°C). This technique can also be applied to the measurement of oxygen partial pressure in gas phases. 相似文献

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique is widely used for efficient detection of food-borne pathogens because of speed and specificity. However, PCR methods have focused mostly on species-specific detection. In the present work, we describe a PCR-based method for the simultaneous detection of all Vibrio species because lots of them are notorious food-borne human pathogens. We then combined this total detection method with specific detection of Vibrio cholerae pathogen. Using a degenerate primer set based on the sequence of the potassium uptake gene, trkA, we were able to successfully detect all Vibrio species. Specific detection of V. cholerae was also possible using primer sets based on putative flagellin sequence. Importantly, simultaneous total and species-specific Vibrio detection was possible using all two primer sets in a multiplexed PCR strategy. Thus, the PCR method we have developed is applicable to both simultaneous and two-step detection of total and specific Vibrio species. 相似文献

A 32 in RGB LED backlight unit is developed. A local dimming algorithm is designed for the backlight, and grid-noise artifacts in the LC driving signal are successfully removed with consideration of the backlight distribution to provide identical intensity from each LED block. The 32 in RGB LED backlight LCD display has achieved a static display contrast of over 20000:1 and an average power reduction of 30%. We have also obtained the color gamut transformation matrix for transferring a cold cathode fluorescent lamp BLU LCD display gamut system to our RGB LED BLU LCD display gamut system, and extended the color saturation by suppositional color expansion method. We investigate the structure of the cross-correlation in the Korean stock market. We analyze daily cross-correlations between price fluctuations of 586 different Korean stock entities for the 6-year time period from 2003 to 2008. The main purpose is to investigate the structure of group correlation and its stability by undressing the market-wide effect using the Markowitz multi-factor model and the network-based approach. We find the explicit list of significant firms in the few largest eigenvectors from the undressed correlation matrix. We also observe that each contributor is involved in the same business sectors. The structure of group correlation can not remain constant during each 1-year time period with different starting points, whereas only two largest eigenvectors are stable for 6 years 8-9 eigenvectors remain stable for half-year. The structure of group correlation in the Korean financial market is disturbed during a sufficiently short time period even though the group correlation exists as an ensemble for the 6-year time period in the evolution of the system. We verify the structure of group correlation by applying a network-based approach. In addition, we examine relations between market capitalization and businesses. The Korean stock market shows a different behavior compared to mature markets, implying that the KOSPI is a target for short-positioned investors. 相似文献
