Electron transporting (n-channel) polymer semiconductors for field-effect transistors are rare. In this investigation, the synthesis and characterization of new electron-depleted N-alkyl-2,2'-bithiophene-3,3'-dicarboximide-based pi-conjugated homopolymers and copolymers containing the 2,2'-bithiophene unit are reported. A novel design approach is employed using computational modeling to identify favorable monomer properties such as core planarity, solubilizing substituent tailorability, and appropriate electron affinity with gratifying results. Monomeric model compounds are synthesized to confirm these properties, and a crystal structure reveals a short 3.43 A pi-pi stacking distance with favorable solubilizing substituent orientations. A family of 10 homopolymers and bithiophene copolymers is then synthesized via Yamamoto and Stille polymerizations, respectively. Two of these polymers are processable in common organic solvents: the homopolymer poly(N-(2-octyldodecyl)-2,2'-bithiophene-3,3'-dicarboximide) (P1) exhibits n-channel FET activity, and the copolymer poly(N-(2-octyldodecyl)-2,2':5',2':5',2'-quaterthiophene-3,3'-dicarboximide) (P2) exhibits air-stable p-channel FET operation. After annealing, P1 films exhibit a very high degree of crystallinity and an electron mobility > 0.01 cm (2) V(-1) s(-1) with a current on-off ratio of 10 (7), which is remarkably independent of film-deposition conditions. Extraordinarily, P1 films also exhibit terracing in AFM images with a step height matching the X-ray diffraction d spacing, a rare phenomenon for polymeric organic semiconductors. Another fascinating property of these materials is the air-stable p-channel FET performance of annealed P2 films, which exhibit a hole mobility of approximately 0.01 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) and a current on-off ratio of 10(7).  相似文献

The present study was conducted to characterize caviar obtained from farmed white sturgeons (Acipenser transmontanus) subjected to different dietary treatments. Twenty caviar samples from fish fed two experimental diets containing different dietary lipid sources have been analysed for chemical composition, fatty acids and flavour volatile compounds. Fatty acid make up of caviar was only minimally influenced by dietary fatty acid composition. Irrespective of dietary treatments, palmitic acid (16:0) and oleic acid (OA, 18:1 n-9) were the most abundant fatty acid followed by docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6 n-3) and eicopentaenoic (EPA, 20:5 n-3). Thirty-three volatile compounds were isolated using simultaneous distillation-extraction (SDE) and identified by GC-MS. The largest group of volatiles were represented by aldehydes with 20 compounds, representing the 60% of the total volatiles. n-Alkanals, 2-alkenals and 2,4-alkadienals are largely the main responsible for a wide range of flavours in caviar from farmed white surgeon.  相似文献

We formulate a flexible micro‐to‐macro kinetic model which is able to explain the emergence of income profiles out of a whole of individual economic interactions. The model is expressed by a system of several nonlinear differential equations which involve parameters defined by probabilities. Society is described as an ensemble of individuals divided into income classes; the individuals exchange money through binary and ternary interactions, leaving the total wealth unchanged. The ternary interactions represent taxation and redistribution effects. Dynamics is investigated through computational simulations, the focus being on the effects that different fiscal policies and differently weighted welfare policies have on the long‐run income distributions. The model provides a tool which may contribute to the identification of the most effective actions toward a reduction of economic inequality. We find for instance that, under certain hypotheses, the Gini index is more affected by a policy of reduction of the welfare and subsidies for the rich classes than by an increase of the upper tax rate. Electrospun poly‐l ‐lactic acid (PLLA) nanofiber mats carrying surface amine groups, previously introduced by nitrogen atmospheric pressure nonequilibrium plasma, are embedded into aqueous solutions of oligomeric acrylamide‐end capped AGMA1, a biocompatible polyamidoamine with arg‐gly‐asp (RGD)‐reminiscent repeating units. The resultant mixture is finally cured giving PLLA‐AGMA1 hydrogel composites that absorb large amounts of water and, in the swollen state, are translucent, soft, and pliable, yet as strong as the parent PLLA mat. They do not split apart from each other when swollen in water and remain highly flexible and resistant, since the hydrogel portion is covalently grafted onto the PLLA nanofibers via the addition reaction of the surface amine groups to a part of the terminal acrylic double bonds of AGMA1 oligomers. Preliminary tested as scaffolds, the composites prove capable of maintaining short‐term undifferentiated cultures of human pluripotent stem cells in feeder‐free conditions.

A comparative investigation of the noncovalent interaction of the platinum(II) polypyridine complexes [Pt(dipy)(n-Rpy)2]2+ and [Pt(4,4'-Me2dipy)(2-Rpy)2]2+ (dipy = 2,2'-dipyridine; Me = CH3; n = 2-4; R = H or CH3) with double-helical DNA (calf thymus) and RNA [poly(A).poly(U)] has been conducted. With the exception of [Pt(dipy)(2-Mepy)2]2+, all of the complexes interact strongly, by intercalation, with both nucleic acids giving rise to large changes in the electronic spectra and induced circular dichroism signals; in addition, viscosity experiments on rodlike DNA and RNA show that both biopolymers elongate upon interaction with the complexes. The binding constant values, KB, determined at 25 degrees C, indicate that, at 0.101 M ionic strength, the affinity for poly(A).poly(U) is strongly dependent on the complexes nature, while for DNA it is leveled off. [Pt(dipy)(2-Mepy)2]2+ binds to DNA but does not interact appreciably with poly(A).poly(U).  相似文献

Aqueous mixtures containing a homopolymer, poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), or a hydrophobically modified graft copolymer, HM-pullulan, (PULAU9, where 9 stands for the nominal substitution degree), and different Gemini surfactants have been investigated at 25.0 degrees C. A wide variety of experimental conditions were addressed by changing the amount of polymer and of surfactant. The Gemini surfactants were synthesized, purified, and characterized by routine methods. They differ from each other in polar head groups (two sulfonate-, two quaternary ammonium-, or two arginine-based groups), in alkyl chain length (11 or 12 carbon atoms), and in the distance between the polar head groups. The spacers consist of 2, 3, and 6 methylene units or 3 oxyethylene units. Surface activity and solution calorimetry measurements yield some physicochemical features inherent to micelle formation and polymer-surfactant interactions. The data are supported by ionic conductivity, detecting the critical thresholds and quantifying the modifications in binding associated with critical association (CAC) and micelle formation (CMC*). The Gibbs energy of transfer from the micelles to a polymer-binding site, DeltaGtrans, was evaluated from the CAC/CMC* ratios versus the amount of added polymer. A similar procedure determined the enthalpy of transfer, DeltaHtrans. DeltaGtrans decreases with added polymer, whereas DeltaHtrans becomes more negative on increasing the amount of polymer in the medium. According to the selected data presented here, cationic Geminis do not interact with PVP, while significant interactions have been observed in other surfactants. In mixtures with PULAU9, the interaction is significant for all Geminis. This effect is due to interactions between the surfactants and the hydrophobic alkyl groups on the main polymer chain. The pendent groups facing away from the polysaccharide chain act as binding sites for aggregates onto such polymers.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new approach for studying the electronic properties of self-assembled monolayers and their interaction with a conductive substrate, the low-energy photoelectron imaging spectroscopy (LEPIS). LEPIS relies on imaging of photoelectrons ejected from a conductive substrate and subsequently transmitted through organic monolayers. Using this method, we measure the relative work-function of alkanethiols of different length on gold substrate, and we are able to follow the changes occurring when the surface coverage is varied. We also computed the work-function of model alkanethiols using a plane-wave density functional theory approach, in order to demonstrate the correlation between changes in the work-function with the monolayer organization and density.  相似文献

In this paper, the stability of infinitely long submerged slopes subject to rapid sedimentation processes is theoretically/numerically investigated. In particular, rapid deposition is considered as a potential triggering factor for static liquefaction in inclined loose sand layers. The corresponding initial boundary value problem is numerically analysed by employing a one-dimensional finite difference scheme in conjunction with two distinct versions of the same constitutive model—elasto-plastic and elasto-viscoplastic (EV). The EV approach is shown to be the most suitable for describing the onset of liquefaction phenomena, since its mathematical well-posedness and numerical stability are never lost. The results of parametric analyses for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous strata are critically discussed in the light of some case history data concerning natural and anthropic sedimentation processes.  相似文献

The binding affinity for Pb2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+ of the sinapic acid–calix[4]arene hybrid 2, having four sinapyl pendants at the upper rim, has been investigated via an UV–Vis study. Compound 2 has better complexing ability than the monomeric p-phenetidine derivative 1. This highlights that the clustering of sinapyl units in a basket-like structure, dictated by the calixarene scaffold, greatly enhances the complexing properties. Ligand 2 forms complexes even with Hg2+, which is not complexed by 1 at all; the complexes formed by 2 with Pb2+ and Cd2+ are much stronger than the analogous complexes formed by 1. The UV–Vis investigation shows that the hybrid 2 markedly favors Pb2+ over Cd2+ and Hg2+. Information on the structural properties of the complex species was obtained by 1H NMR spectroscopy. NMR data show that all three metal ions are placed into the cavity consisting of the calixarene scaffold and the sinapyl pendants, though their binding affects the coordinating regions to a different extent.  相似文献
