Photoproduction of πmesons off protons from the Δ(1232) region to Eγ = 3 GeV

Photoproduction of π⁰-mesons was studied with the Crystal-Barrel detector at ELSA for incident energies from 300MeV to 3GeV. Differential cross-sections dσ/dΩ, dσ/dt, and the total cross-section are presented. For E _γ < 3GeV, the angular distributions agree well with the SAID parametrization. At photon energies above 1.5GeV, a strong forward peaking indicates t-channel exchange to be the dominant process. The rapid variations of the cross-section with energy and angle indicate production of resonances. An interpretation of the data within the Bonn-Gatchina partial-wave analysis is briefly discussed.     

Light-mediated heterogeneous cross dehydrogenative coupling reactions: metal oxides as efficient, recyclable, photoredox catalysts in C-C bond-forming reactions

Let there be light: A heterogeneous photocatalytic system based on easily recyclable TiO(2) or ZnO allows cross dehydrogenative coupling reactions of tertiary amines. The newly developed protocols have successfully been applied to various C-C and C-P bond-forming reactions to provide nitro amines as well as amino ketones, nitriles and phosphonates.     

Metal-Free Synthesis of 3,3-Disubstituted Oxoindoles by Iodine(III)-Catalyzed Bromocarbocyclizations

"I" did it: An iodine(III)-mediated bromocarbocyclization was elaborated as an efficient tool for the synthesis of oxoindoles. This method is applicable to a variety of structurally different substrates, also with chemically sensitive groups, and gives access to the heterocycles in a regio- and stereoselective fashion. The indole-2-ones obtained can be converted easily into structurally complex target compounds, such as the alkaloid physostigmine.
