Some kinetic features of the hydrolysis of protopectin

Some features of the kinetics of the hydrolysis of apple protopectin have been studied on the basis of an analysis of monosaccharide residues of the pectin substances and determinations of characteristic viscosity. It has been shown that the fine regulation of the physicochemical parameters of the hydrolysis of protopectin leads to the formation of pectin substances with different properties.     

Mass spectra of pseudoguaianolides related to carpesiolin

The main directions of fragmentation and the EI of six pseudoguaianolides related to carpesiolin have been studied. It has been established that acylation of the OH group at C-6 suppresses the selective breakdown of the guaiane skeleton, while the simultaneous presence of AcO groups at C-2 and C-4 favors the formation of a number of characteristic ions. Methylphosphonothionates of N-(β-hydroxypropyl)anabasine — Synthesis,structure, and sensitivity of cholinesterases to them

The synthesis has been effected of alkyl anabasinoprop-2-yl and alkyl piperidinoprop-2-yl methylphosphonothionates. It has been shown by¹H,¹³C and³¹P NMR spectroscopies that the anabasine derivatives exist in solution as four diastereomeric forms. The kinetics of the interaction of the compounds synthesized with two types of cholinesterases has been studied.A. S. Linearization of column responses by correlation chromatography. Separation improvement and reduction of undesired adsorption effects

Summary Experiments and simulations prove that correlation chromatography can greatly reduce the disadvantage of a non-linear response of the chromatographic column. A factor that has been accepted as being an important source of error in correlation or multiplex chromatography, has been shown not to be. Separations affected, improve dramatically when correlation chromatography is used, and a substantial amount of correlation noise only arises when there is a large difference in separation between a conventional chromatogram and a correlogram.A model has been developed for simulating these nonlinearities. It is shown that, especially for correlation chromatography, the simulation results match the practical measurements very well.     

Beryllium coordination chemistry

The coordination chemistry of beryllium with particular emphasis on chelates under physiological or near physiological conditions is surveyed. Hard donors such as oxygen are emphasized; equilibrium data and formation constants are reported as an indication of the strength of the complex.     

Mechanical properties of polyester polymer-concrete

The properties of a polymer-concrete composed of polyester matrix and locally available rock aggregate are investigated. The formula of the concrete is found by an experimental-calculation approach in such a way as to attain a closer packing of the aggregate particles on the one hand, and to ensure the needed processing characteristics (placeability) of the mix on the other. It is shown experimentally that the material obtained has a rather high compression strength. Under prolonged compression loads, the polymer-concrete exhibits a noticeable creep behavior with a linear relation between the creep strains and stresses. After the action of half the ultimate load over 3000 h, the total strains exceed the instantaneous ones by 2.0 to 2.2 times. The accumulation of irreversible strains is also observed; however, their contribution to the total strain is small. Selective photoconductivity induced in PbTe(Ga) by a local phonon mode

Selective photoconductivity at frequency ω=155 cm⁻ was discovered in PbTe(Ga) narrow-gap semiconductors at liquid-nitrogen temperatures. The corresponding energy is much lower than all characteristic energies of the electronic spectrum of the semiconductor. The effect is attributed to optical excitation of a local vibrational mode of an impurity center leading to delocalization of the electrons. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor.
