Hewlett-Packard 8460A microwave spectrometer has been connected to a microcomputer based on the Motorola MC6800 microprocessor. The microcomputer is programmed to control frequency and Stark voltage and to perform AD conversion, storage and accumulation of intensities.The microcomputer is connected to a larger local computer, the RC4000, from which it may be loaded with a program, started and stopped, and from which data transfer between the storages of the two computers is controlled. This transfer may be performed, while the microcomputer is running a spectrum.  相似文献

Electron impact spectra of thermolysis products of organic salts heated in the ion source of a mass spectrometer may give rise to organic ions corresponding to the cation of the salt. Field ionization mass spectrometry has been used as a facile method for detemining whether such an ion is due to ionization of the corresponding radical present in the gas phase, or to an electron impact induced fragmentation of a reaction product of higher mass. By comparison of the electron impact and field ionization spectra of a series of N-methyl pyridinium, tropylium and 1,2-dithiolylium salts it has been found possible to identify the radicals formed thermolytically, when present.  相似文献

Poly(styrene-co-acrylamide) (PS-AAM) latex was prepared, fractionated by sedimentation under gravity, and characterized by PCS, infrared spectra, secondary and backscattered electron imaging in the scanning electron microscope, and electron spectroscopy imaging in an analytical transmission electron microscope. Three latex fractions were obtained. The lower fraction was opalescent and its particles were the more uniform, concerning size, chemical composition, and topochemical features. This lower fraction was still further fractionated by zonal centrifugation in a density gradient, yielding two fractions with similar macrocrystal-forming abilities but different sizes and chemical compositions. In international legislation concerning trace elements in food, in the environment or in occupational health most regulations are based on the total element contents, and are frequently given as maximum limits or guideline levels. In contrast, only few regulations pay attention to the molecular species in which the elements are bound. The international legislation concerning contaminants in food is presently being established in the Codex Alimentarius, which is an independent United Nations organisation under the joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme. Development of the Codex General Standard for Contaminants and Toxins in Food provides the framework for future international legislation on metals as contaminants in food. For certain food additives, which include some essential minerals, speciation is an integral part of the set of specification criteria, because only certain defined chemical compounds are permitted as sources of the essential element. The development of more species-specific analytical and toxicological data, and improved communication with legislators will be necessary before it will become possible to lay down species-specific regulations in all the cases where the specialised scientist will consider it reasonable.  相似文献

We report ultrafast femtosecond transient absorption measurements of energy-transfer dynamics for the antenna protein phycoerythrin 545, PE545, isolated from a unicellular cryptophyte Rhodomonas CS24. The phycoerythrobilins are excited at both 485 and 530 nm, and the spectral response is probed between 400 and 700 nm. Room-temperature measurements are contrasted with measurements at 77 K. An evolution-associated difference spectra (EADS) analysis is combined with estimations of bilin spectral positions and energy-transfer rates to obtain a detailed kinetic model for PE545. It is found that sub pulse-width dynamics include relaxation between the exciton states of a chromophore dimer (beta 50/60) located in the core of the protein. Energy transfer from the lowest exciton state of the phycoerythrobilin (PEB) dimer to one of the periphery 15,16-dihydrobiliverdin (DBV) bilins is found to occur on a time scale of 250 fs at room temperature and 960 fs at 77 K. A host of energy-transfer dynamics involving the beta 158, beta 82, and alpha 19 bilins occur on a time scale of 2 ps at room temperature and 3 ps at 77 K. A final energy transfer occurs between the red-most DBV bilins with a time scale estimated to be approximately 30 ps. The role of the centrally located phycoerythrobilin dimer is seen as crucial-spectrally as it expands the cross-section of absorption of the protein; structurally as it sits in the middle of the protein acting as an intermediary trap; and kinetically, as the internal conversion and subsequent red-shift of the excitation is extremely fast.  相似文献

A method for the determination of ethotoin and its p-hydroxylated and dealkylated metabolites in urine has been developed. Ethotoin and the metabolites were extracted from acidified urine with ethyl acetate and silylated before injection into a combined gas chromatograph--mass spectrometer. Four partly identified metabolites were recorded, but their exact quantitation was not possible as pure reference substances were not available. The limit of sensitivity was far below the amounts of ethotoin and of its metabolites found in urine from patients treated with therapeutic doses of ethotoin.  相似文献

The air-gap electrode has been used in kinetic chemical analysis, illustrated by the assay of the activities of the enzymes urease and arginase. The determinations are based on monitoring the initial reaction rates of the selective release of ammoniacal nitrogen, which in the arginine—arginase system was ensured by adding excess of urease. The reaction rates measured are in the range 2.5 · 10-5—1.5 · 10-3M min-1; the relative standard deviation is ca. 2.8 %.  相似文献

Iron L-edge, iron K-edge, and sulfur K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy was performed on a series of compounds [Fe(III)H(3)buea(X)](n-) (X = S(2-), O(2-), OH(-)). The experimentally determined electronic structures were used to correlate to density functional theory calculations. Calculations supported by the data were then used to compare the metal-ligand bonding and to evaluate the effects of H-bonding in Fe(III)(-)O vs Fe(III)(-)S complexes. It was found that the Fe(III)(-)O bond, while less covalent, is stronger than the Fe(III)(-)S bond. This dominantly reflects the larger ionic contribution to the Fe(III)(-)O bond. The H-bonding energy (for three H-bonds) was estimated to be -25 kcal/mol for the oxo as compared to -12 kcal/mol for the sulfide ligand. This difference is attributed to the larger charge density on the oxo ligand resulting from the lower covalency of the Fe-O bond. These results were extended to consider an Fe(IV)(-)O complex with the same ligand environment. It was found that hydrogen bonding to Fe(IV)(-)O is less energetically favorable than that to Fe(III)(-)O, which reflects the highly covalent nature of the Fe(IV)(-)O bond.  相似文献

A method of analysis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in chicken meat was developed. The homogenized chicken meat sample, which was spiked with AgNPs, was subjected to enzymolysis by Proteinase K for 40 min at 37 °C. Transmission electron microscopy and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in single particle mode were used to characterize the number-based size distribution of AgNPs in the meat digestate. Because similar size distributions were found in the meat digestate and in the aqueous suspension of AgNPs used for spiking the meat, it was shown that no detectable dissolution of the AgNPs took place during the sample preparation stage. The digestate was injected into the asymmetric flow field flow fractionation (AF4) -ICP-MS system, which enabled fractionation of nanoparticles from the remaining meat matrix, and resulted in one large peak in the fractograms as well as two smaller peaks eluting close to the void volume. The recovery of silver contained in the large AgNP peak was around 80 %. Size determination of AgNPs in the meat matrix, based on external size calibration of the AF4 channel, was hampered by non-ideal (early elution) behavior of the AgNPs. Single particle ICP-MS was applied for determination of the number-based particle size distribution of AgNPs in collected fractions. The presented work describes for the first time the coupling of AF4 and ICP-MS for AgNP separation in a food matrix.  相似文献
