Measurements of the fluctuation magnetoconductivity as a function of both the magnetic field up to 13 T and the temperature in thin films of Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox are presented. . The latter behavior is attributed to an inhomogeneous critical temperature in the films. The results are analyzed in terms of recent theoretical models for fluctuation-enhanced magnetoconductivity in layered superconductors. The magnetoconductivity in a magnetic field oriented normal to the copper-oxide layers is dominated by the orbital contribution of the Aslamazov-Larkin effect. The magnetoconductivity in the parallel orientation is distinctly smaller and provides evidence for the corresponding Zeeman contribution. The distorted Born approximation is used to calculate the bistatic scattering coefficients from a layer of sparsely distributed discrete dielectric scatterers over a random interface. After specializing to the backscatter case, the scattering coefficient is determined as a sum of direct, direct reflected and interface scatter contributions. The direct reflected term contains contributions from the average interface and the interface fluctuations. These direct reflected terms include both incoherent and coherent or enhancement terms. The results are applied to backscattering from a mature hemlock forest over a roughened ground. The model results show that the direct reflected surface fluctuation terms give the dominant contribution to backscatter at P band and are equal in magnitude to the volume scatter at L band. Use of these new results brings the model predictions and experimental results into agreement. 相似文献

Within the last decade mid-infrared absorption spectroscopy between 3 and 20 μm, known as infrared laser absorption spectroscopy
(IRLAS) and based on tuneable semiconductor lasers, namely lead salt diode lasers, often called tuneable diode lasers (TDL),
and quantum cascade lasers (QCL) has progressed considerably as a powerful diagnostic technique for in situ studies of the
fundamental physics and chemistry of molecular plasmas. The increasing interest in processing plasmas containing hydrocarbons,
fluorocarbons, organo-silicon and boron compounds has lead to further applications of IRLAS because most of these compounds
and their decomposition products are infrared active. IRLAS provides a means of determining the absolute concentrations of
the ground states of stable and transient molecular species, which is of particular importance for the investigation of reaction
kinetics. Since plasmas with molecular feed gases are used in many applications such as thin film deposition, semiconductor
processing, surface activation and cleaning, and materials and waste treatment, this has stimulated the adaptation of infrared
spectroscopic techniques to industrial requirements. The recent development of QCLs offers an attractive new option for the
monitoring and control of industrial plasma processes as well as for highly time-resolved studies on the kinetics of plasma
processes.
The aim of the present article is twofold: (i) to review recent achievements in our understanding of molecular phenomena in
plasmas using TDLs and (ii) to report on selected new applications of QCLs in the mid-infrared.

With the infection rate of Bordetella pertussis at a 60-year high, there is an urgent need for new anti-pertussis vaccines. The lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of B. pertussis is an attractive antigen for vaccine development. With the presence of multiple rare sugars and unusual glycosyl linkages, the B. pertussis LPS is a highly challenging synthetic target. In this work, aided by molecular dynamics simulation and modeling, a pertussis-LPS-like pentasaccharide was chemically synthesized for the first time. The pentasaccharide was conjugated with a powerful carrier, bacteriophage Qβ, as a vaccine candidate. Immunization of mice with the conjugate induced robust anti-glycan IgG responses with IgG titers reaching several million enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) units. The antibodies generated were long lasting and boostable and could recognize multiple clinical strains of B. pertussis, highlighting the potential of Qβ-glycan as a new anti-pertussis vaccine. 相似文献

Diethyl 2,6-dimethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate (HEH) has been utilized as a visible-light photoredox catalyst for the cross coupling of arylhalides and arylsulfinates without transition metal, sacrificial agent, and mediator. This method is compatible with various functional groups and provides diaryl sulfones in good to high yields. Mechanistic studies indicate that this reaction undergoes the stepwise light irradiation of HE−, single electron transfer (SET) in donor–acceptor complex (DAC) from *HE− to arylhalide, trapping of aryl radical with sulfinate, and SET oxidation of sulfone radical anion by HE. to sulfone by the DAC method. 相似文献
