ZnO:Fe array thin films were prepared by the hydrothermal method using the sol-gel grown film as a seed layer. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet/visible absorption spectra (UV-vis) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The photocatalytic activities of the prepared samples were investigated for the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) under sunlight irradiation. The results show that the lattice constant a and the cell volume of ZnO:Fe film increase due to the substitution of Fe for Zn. The absorption edge of Fe-doped ZnO displays a red shift with a significant absorption between 600 and 700 nm. The ZnO:Fe array film is composed of disk particles with uniformity and compactness. Doping Fe ions enhances the photodegradation rate of ZnO array film for MB. 1.5% Fe doped ZnO sample exhibits the highest activity under irradiation time of 4 h. A series of measurements on the high pressure (up to 18 bar) coaxial e-beam pumped Ar/Xe laser has been made at high power loading (up to 25 MW/cm~2) for various Xe mole fraction in Ar. We found that the optimum laser gas composition in our system was 0.4% Xe in Ar which was independent of the total gas pressure. At the optimum gas composition the output energy increased with increasing total gas pressure up to 16 bar, but the intrinsic efficiency reached a maximum at the total gas pressure of 8 bar. It was also found that at the optimum power deposition for both the 2.63μm and 2.65μm transitions the ratio of the integrated optical energy to that of the 1.73μm transition had a minimum in most cases at the optimum gas mixture for various gas pressures. This ratio increased with increasing gas pressure. We propose a new and simple estimating equation for the parameters in median regression models with designed censoring variables, and then apply the empirical log likelihood ratio statistic to construct confidence region for the parameters. The empirical log likelihood ratio statistic is shown to have a standard chi-square distribution, which makes this method easy to implement. At the same time, another empirical log likelihood ratio statistic is proposed based on an existing estimating equation and the limiting distribution of the empirical likelihood ratio statistic is shown to be a sum of weighted chi-square distributions. Geometrical and electronic structures of C35X fullerenes with , N and Si as substitutional dopants have been studied. Three non-equivalent sites in the D6h structure of C36 have been considered for the substitution. We have found that the dopant has a strong tendency to substitute at sites where

Based on our study on field emission from multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), we experimentally manufactured field emission display (FED) triode with a MWNTs cold cathode, and demonstrated an excellent performance of MWNTs as field emitters. The measured luminance of the phosphor screens was 1.8 × 103 cd/m2 for green light. The emission is stable with a fluctuation of only 1.5% at an average current of 260 μA. 相似文献

Thin surface layers consisting of nano-crystalline and amorphous phases on the surface of stainless steel have been attained under the Nd:YAG pulsed laser irradiation. The phases and microstructures were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The phase compositions of the surface determined by XRD were α-Fe (ferrite) and γ-Fe (austenite) or only γ-Fe in the near surface region on the bases of the different laser power densities. The nano-crystalline grains with sizes of 4-100 nm could result from high cooling rate and crystallization in amorphous region by homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation. A series of porphyrin‐containing polyimide (PI) photocatalysts were synthesized by a one‐step solvothermal method. Characterization results revealed that porphyrin was uniformly coupled into the PI framework through covalent bonding and the visible‐light absorption was greatly improved. The photodegradation activity of porphyrin‐containing PIs for methyl orange (MO) under visible light was enhanced significantly, with the highest pseudo‐first‐order rate constant 35 times higher than that of neat porphyrin and 10 times higher than that of porphyrin‐free PI. The enhancement is mainly attributed to an increased light harvesting accompanied by a varied HOMO level, which was clarified by control experiments, characterizations and theoretical calculations.
