The problem of estimating the bending stress distribution in the neighborhood of a crack located on a single line in an orthotropic elastic plate of constant thickness subjected to out-of-plane concentrated moments is examined. Using classical plate theory and integral transform techniques, the general formulae for the bending moment and twisting moment in an elastic plate containing cracks located on a single line are derived. The solution is obtained in a closed form for the case in which there is a single crack in an infinite plate subjected to symmetric concentrated moments.  相似文献

Single crystals of pure and Na+-doped strontium nitrate were grown by slow evaporation of aqueous solution. Systematic measurement of dielectric constant (ϵ) and loss (tan δ) have been carried out in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 100 kHz at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 420 °C. A.C. conductivity (σ) is obtained from the data on ϵ and tan δ, ϵ, and σ were found to show anomalies around 300 °C. The results are discussed in the context of order-disorder phase transition.  相似文献

The crystallinity and conductivity of nanoparticle‐filled solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are investigated as a function of thermal history and water content. Our objective is to evaluate how performance is affected by the conditions under which the SPEs are handled and tested. The samples consist of polyethylene oxide (PEO), LiClO4, and Al2O3 nanoparticles. At low humidity, SPEs at ether oxygen to lithium ratios of 8:1 do not crystallize immediately; instead, 3 days are required for crystallization to occur, and this does not depend strongly on the presence of nanoparticles. The conductivity is improved by the addition of nanoparticles at low humidity, but only at an ether oxygen to lithium ratio of 10:1, which corresponds to the eutectic concentration. At high humidity, the recrystallization time is delayed for 3 weeks, and the conductivity increases in both filled and unfilled SPEs beyond that of the low humidity samples. Although we observe that water amplifies the influence of nanoparticles on conductivity, we also find that nanoparticles inhibit water uptake—but only in the presence of lithium. Because Li+ strongly absorbs water, this result suggests that nanoparticles may interact directly with Li+ ions to prevent water uptake. In filled samples at the eutectic concentration (10:1), more water is absorbed compared to the nanoparticle‐filled 8:1 samples, even though less lithium is present. This suggests that nanoparticles may segregate to lithium‐poor regions in the 10:1 samples, and this scenario is supported by the morphology that would be expected at the eutectic concentration. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pink pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFM) isolated from water samples of Cooum and Adyar rivers in Chennai and soil samples of forests located in various districts of Tamil Nadu, India were screened for cellulase production using carboxymethylcellulose agar (CMC agar) medium. The strains showed wide variations in the production of clearing zones around the colonies on CMC agar medium flooded with Congo red. CMCase and filter paper assays were used to quantitatively measure the cellulase activity of 13 PPFM strains. Among the strains, Methylobacterium gregans, MNW 60, MHW 109, MSF 34, and MSF 40 showed cellulolytic activity ranging from 0.73 to 1.16 U mL−1 with wide temperature (35–65°C) and pH (5 to 8) tolerance. SDS-PAGE analysis of the crude enzyme of PPFM strain MNW 60 exhibited several protein bands, and zymogram analysis revealed two dimeric cellulase bands with molecular mass of ~92 and 42 kDa. Scanning electron microscopic studies revealed significant morphological differences between the cells grown in normal and CMC amended medium. The strain MNW 60 was identified as Methylobacterium sp. based on biochemical, physiological, and morphological analyses, and the methylotrophic nature was authenticated by the presence of mxaF gene, encoding methanol dehydrogenase as a key indicator enzyme of methylotrophs, with 99% similarity to Methylobacterium lusitanum. With the 16S ribosomal RNA sequence showing 97% similarity to M. lusitanum strain MP2, this can be proposed as a novel taxon of the genus Methylobacterium. The study forms the first detailed report on the extracellular cellulase production by pink pigmented Methylobacterium sp., and it is expected that this might be the basis for further studies on cellulase production by PPFMs to explore the molecular mechanism, strain improvement, and large-scale cellulase production for its application.  相似文献

Abstract  

The liquid-phase selective dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol has been investigated using two classes of catalyst containing either Cu2O or CuO on TiO2 under solar light in deaerated conditions at room temperature using acetonitrile medium in a batch reactor. The effect on dehydrogenation of three conditions, cyclohexanol concentration, copper loading on TiO2, and amount of catalyst, were investigated. The maximum yield of cyclohexanone obtained was 40%. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, UV–DRS, TEM, SEM–EDAX, and XPS. It was found that 1% (w/w) Cu2O/TiO2 was 100% selective for photocatalytic dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol.  相似文献
