The stability of monocalcium aluminate decahydrate, with the nominal composition CaAl(2)O(4).10H(2)O (CAH(10)), has a decisive role for the strength development and durability of cementitious materials based on high alumina cements. This has prompted an investigation of the thermal transformation of crystalline monocalcium aluminate decahydrate in air to an amorphous phase by in-situ synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction in the temperature range from 25 to 500 degrees C, by DTA/TGA, and (2)H, (27)Al MAS NMR spectroscopy. The decomposition includes the loss of hydrogen-bonded water molecules in the temperature range up to 175 degrees C, coupled with a reduction of the unit cell volume from 1928 A(3) at 25 degrees C, to 1674 A(3) at 185 degrees C. Furthermore, X-ray diffraction shows that CaAl(2)O(4).10H(2)O starts to transform to an amorphous phase at approximately 65 degrees C. This phase is fully developed at approximately 175 degrees C and it converts to crystalline CaAl(2)O(4) when heated to 1300 degrees C. The thermal decomposition in the temperature range from approximately 65 to approximately 175 degrees C involves both formation of an amorphous phase including AlO(4) tetrahedra and structural changes in the remaining crystalline phase. 相似文献

We present density functional theory (DFT) calculations for N2 dissociation on stepped face-centred cubic (211) surface slabs. By using the same crystal structure, the same adsorption site for atomic nitrogen, and the same transition-state bond length of N2 over a range of pure metal surfaces, a perfectly linear Br?nsted-Evans-Polanyi (BEP) relation between the transition-state potential energy and the dissociative chemisorption energy is obtained. The perfect BEP relation, which extends over 12 eV in chemisorption energy, suggests that the manifestation of BEP relations for surface reactions is a general electronic structure effect, and that geometric effects are responsible for the scatter which is normally observed around the BEP line. The BEP relation is also shown to be valid for both surface and bulk alloys. The scatter is, however, larger than for the pure elements. This can be understood as a larger geometrical variance. To analyze the accuracy of the DFT calculations a detailed convergence study is performed for several adsorbates on stepped hexagonal close-packed and face-centred cubic Ru slabs. 相似文献

This study concerns the technique electric field-assisted capillary liquid chromatography. In this technique, an electric field is applied over the separation capillary in order to provide an additional selectivity. In this technique, the electric field is applied in-line in the separation capillary and here the electric current is the factor limiting the magnitude of applied electric field. The influence of Joule heating and other factors on the current in such systems has been investigated. The temperature in the capillary was first measured within a standard CE set-up, as function of effect per unit of length. Then the same cooling system was applied to an in-line set-up, to replicate the conditions between the two systems, and thus the temperature. Thus Joule heating effects could then be calculated within the in-line system. It was found that for systems applying an electric field in line, the direct influence from Joule heating was only relatively small. The pH in the capillary was measured in the in-line set-up using cresol red/TRIS solutions as pH probe. Significant changes in pH were observed and the results suggested that electrolysis of water is the dominant electrode reaction in the in-line system. In summary, the observed conductivity change in in-line systems was found to be mainly due to the pH change by hydrolysis of water, but primarily not due the temperature change in the capillary column. 相似文献

Abstract Indoor tanning increases skin cancer risk, but the importance of different parts of the UV spectrum is unclear. We assessed irradiance of tanning devices in Norway for the period 1983-2005. Since 1983, all tanning models needed approval before being sold or used. UV Type 3 limits were valid from late 1992 (<0.15 W m(-2) for CIE-weighted, i.e. erythemally weighted, short and long wave irradiances). We analyzed data from 90% of the approved tanning models (n = 446 models) and two large inspection surveys in 1998/1999 and 2003 (n = 1341 tanning devices). Mean CIE-weighted short wave irradiance of approved models increased from 0.050 W m(-2) (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.045-0.055) in 1983-1992 to 0.101 W m(-2) (95% CI 0.098-0.105) in 1993-2005, and mean long wave from 0.091 W m(-2) (95% CI 0.088-0.095) to 0.112 W m(-2) (95% CI 0.109-0.115), respectively. Inspection surveys revealed short wave irradiances much higher than that approved. In 1998-1999, only 28% (293/1034) of the devices were equipped with correct sunlamps and only 1 out of 130 inspected establishments fulfilled all requirements. In 2003, corresponding numbers were 59% (180/307) of devices and 2 out of 52 establishments. Mean short and long wave irradiances of the inspected tanning devices in 2003 were 1.5 and 3.5 times, respectively, higher than the irradiance of natural summer sun in Oslo. In conclusion, the short wave irradiance has increased in indoor tanning devices in Norway over the last 20 years. Due to the high long wave irradiance throughout this period, the percentage of short wave irradiance was much lower than for natural sun. 相似文献

Complexes of the Alkali Metal Tetraphenylborates with Macrocyclic Crown Ethers Alkali metal tetraphenylborates, MB(C6H5)4 (M = Li to Cs), react in tetrahydrofuran with macrocyclic crown ethers to give complexes of the general formula MB(C6H5)4(crown)m(THF)n. Suitable single crystals for X‐ray structure analysis were grown from a solvent mixture of tetrahydrofuran and n‐hexane. The salt like complexes [Li(12‐crown‐4)(thf)][B(C6H5)4] ( 1 ), [Na(15‐crown‐5)(thf)][B(C6H5)4] ( 2 ), and [Cs(18‐crown‐6)2][B(C6H5)4] · THF ( 6 ), the mononuclear molecular complexes [KB(C6H5)4(18‐crown‐6)(thf)] ( 3 ), [RbB(C6H5)4(18‐crown‐6)] ( 4 ), and [CsB(C6H5)4(18‐crown‐6)] · THF ( 5 ), and the compound [CsB(C6H5)4(18‐crown‐6)]2[Cs(18‐crown‐6)2][B(C6H5)4] ( 7 ), which contains a binuclear molecule ([CsB(C6H5)4(18‐crown‐6)]2) beside a [Cs(18‐crown‐6)2]+ cation and a [B(C6H5)4]? anion, are described. CE was coupled to inductively coupled plasma MS (ICP-MS) and ESI-MS to identify and quantify the arsenic species arsenobetaine (AsB), arsenite (As(III)), arsenate (As(V)), and dimethylarsinic acid (DMA). A GC-flame ionization detector (FID)-based German standard method and ICP-MS were used for validation of the data obtained for arsenobetaine and total arsenic, respectively. LODs obtained with the CE-ESI-TOF-MS method were 1.0x10(-7) M for AsB, 5.0x10(-7) M for DMA, and 1.0x10(-6) M for As(III) and As(V). For the CE-ICP-MS method, LODs were 8.5x10(-8) M for AsB, 9.5x10(-8) M for DMA, 9.3x10(-8) M for As(III), and 6.2x10(-8) M for As(V). While CE-ICP-MS provided high sensitivity and better reproducibility for quantitative measurements, CE-ESI-MS with a TOF mass analyzer proved to be valuable for species identification. With this setup, fish samples were prepared and analyzed and the obtained data were successfully validated with the independent methods. 相似文献

The benefits of defining common spot boundaries when several gels from 2-DE are compared and analyzed have lately been stressed by both commercial software producers and users of this software. Though the importance of common spot boundaries is clearly stated, few reports exist that target this issue explicitly. In this study a method for defining common spots boundaries is developed, called the spot density method. The method consists of the following steps: segmentation and spot identification on each individual gel, transferring the spot-center coordinates for all gels onto a single new gel, collecting spot centers clustered together in the new gel and finally assigning pixels and new spot boundaries based on the spots in each cluster. The method is compared to a synthetic gel approach, and validated by visual inspection of three representative areas in the gels. The gel images need to be aligned prior to segmentation and spot identification, but the method can be used regardless of the choice of segmentation procedure. This makes the method an easy extension to existing methods for spot identification and matching. Conclusions based on the visual inspection are that the spot density method identifies partly overlapping spots and low-intensity spots better than the synthetic gel approach. 相似文献

This paper introduces four different modes of multiple-injection CZE (MICZE). The validity of these MICZE models was evaluated by the experimental data. Prior to the application of MICZE, the electrophoretic conditions are developed in the single-injection mode by adjusting different experimental parameters such as pH, type and concentration of buffer additives and temperature. Based on the migration time difference (Deltatmig) between the analyte and the internal standard or injection marker, one or more MICZE modes can be employed. The injection marker is added to the sample to compensate for injection-volume fluctuations. The inter-plug distance is regulated by applying an electrical field over the capillary for a short period of time between each injection. After the final injection, the separation is completed by electrophoresis for a time period corresponding to that in the single-injection mode. 相似文献

A simple and easy-to-use extraction method for aqueous samples based on hollow fibre-supported liquid membrane (HF-SLM) followed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was developed to determine ivermectin and transformation products, the monosaccharide (TP1) and the aglycon of ivermectin (TP2). The proposed method attained enrichment factors up to 80, after optimising parameters, such as fibre length, organic solvent, stirring speed, salt level, pH in samples/fibre, extraction time and fibre emptying technique. Method validation with tap and lake water samples provided good linearity and detection limits of 0.2, 1.6 and 0.9 microg/l for ivermectin, TP1 and TP2 in lake water with RSD below 15%. 相似文献

Mixtures of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) or hydrophobically modified CMC with an oppositely charged surfactant (benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride) in water were prepared. When the global polymer concentration is 0.18% by weight and the surfactant content is high enough, a precipitate with hexagonal order is formed. The precipitate composition shows practically constancy in its water content and a slight diminution in polymer concentration when the global surfactant content is varied between 0.9 and 23 wt%. The lattice parameter in this phase decreases when the polymer/surfactant ratio in the phase increases; this variation is faster with CMC than with the hydrophobically modified CMC. In this way electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions are far from being additive. From the extrapolation to infinite dilution, the global interaction seems to depend on the substitution degree in the polymer. Additionally, the comparison between the radius at the polar-apolar interface in the cylinders and the lattice parameter as a function of polymer/surfactant ratio in the hexagonal phase is compatible with some of the alkyl chains belonging to the hydrophobically modified CMC being present in the aqueous zone. 相似文献
