Comments on charmed baryon pair production in e+e−-annihilation

We show that the symmetric quark model calculation of charmed baryon pair creation in e⁺e^?-annihilation has an incorrect threshold structure. The cc?-pair creation model possesses the correct s-wave threshold behaviour, if the cc?-pair and diquark pair are created in orbital s-waves. We show that the two models become identical for a specific orbital configuration and discuss implications for the relative production rates of $\text{Λ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{Λ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{:Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{:Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}{}^1\text{+Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}{}^1\text{Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}\text{:Σ}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}{}^1{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>c</mtext>}}{}^1$.     

Bidirectional and colorimetric recognition of sodium and potassium ions

Solid State Intercalation of 4,4′-Bipyridine into the Interlayer Space of Montmorillonites

Abstract

Intercalation of 4,4′-bipyridine into the interlayer spaces of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II)-montmorillonites by solid-solid reactions was investigated. The successful intercalation of 4,4′-bipyridine and the complex formation in the interlayer spaces of montmorillonites was confirmed by powder XRD (the change in the basal spacings) as well as IR and the thermal analysis of the products.     

Microscopic Studies of 2H-NbSe2 Probed by Positive Muon

Abstract

The microscopic state of the positively charged light particle in the transition metal dichalcogenide 2H-NbSe₂ was studied using the muon spin relaxation method (μ⁺SR) and muon level crossing resonance method (μ-LCR). Muons are expected to stay at interlayer position and behaves as a hydrogen like intercalant. We discuss the relation between conduction electron properties and the muon's behavior.     

Design of New Reaction Fields for Spherical Polypyrrole Particle Synthesis

Summary: Polypyrrole conducting polymers have been investigated widely for various applications because of their thermal and environmental stability and good electrical conductivity. Using chemical oxidative polymerization for the synthesis of polypyrrole particles, the reaction rate is very fast. In this study, we designed two new reaction fields for the synthesis of spherical polypyrrole nanoparticles. In the first system, oxidative polymerization of monomer droplets infused in a water/oil (W/O) emulsion reaction field was investigated. The second system employed dispersed monomer in an aqueous solution with a low concentration of oxidant in which polymerization was augmented by ultrasonic irradiation. Effective control of the reaction rate was important for enabling the synthesis of fine spherical polypyrrole particles.
