Novel metal-complex assemblies constructed from the flexible hinge-like ligand H(2)bhnq (H(2)bhnq=2,2'-bi(3-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone)) have been synthesized. The X-ray crystal structures of these compounds reveal that four types of architectures are accessible by variation of the metal ions. In copper(II) compounds 1-3, the chelating bhnq(2-) ions bridge copper(II) centers to form one-dimensional zigzag chains. The chains of 1-3 are arranged by hydrogen-bonding interactions and stacking interactions to produce porous structures. Cobalt(II) and zinc(II) compounds 4 and 5 form one-dimensional helical chains. In 4 and 5, the crystal packing induces spontaneous resolution of the helical chains with chiral cavities formed perpendicular to the helices. Nickel(II) compounds 6 and 7 form cyclic tetramers. The fourth architecture, a dimer (compound 8), is obtained by the reaction of zinc(II) and bhnq(2-) in MeOH. In these compounds, changes of the dihedral angles and the metal-coordination mode of the bhnq(2-) ion induce the structural versatility. The assemblies of the zigzag chains of the copper(II) compounds exhibit reversible vapochromic behavior. UV/Vis, powder X-ray diffraction, EPR, and adsorption isotherm measurements indicate that this vapochromic behavior is based on the hinge-like flexibility of the bhnq(2-) ion. 相似文献

Reaction pathways in the enzymatic formation and cleavage of the N-N and N-O bonds, respectively, are difficult to verify without the structure of the intermediates, but we now have such information on the heme a(3)(2+)-NO species formed in the reaction of ba(3)-oxidase with NO from resonance Raman spectroscopy. We have identified the His-heme a(3)(2+)-NO/Cu(B)(1+) species by its characteristic Fe-NO and N-O stretching frequencies at 539 and 1620 cm(-)(1), respectively. The Fe-NO and N-O frequencies in ba(3)-oxidase are 21 and 7 cm(-)(1) lower and higher, respectively, than those observed in Mb-NO. From these results and earlier Raman and FTIR measurements, we demonstrate that the protein environment of the proximal His384 that is part of the Q-proton pathway controls the strength of the Fe-His384 bond upon ligand (CO vs NO) binding. We also show by time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy that Cu(B)(1+) has a much lower affinity for NO than for CO. We suggest that the reduction of NO to N(2)O by ba(3)-oxidase proceeds by the fast binding of the first NO molecule to heme a(3) with high-affinity, and the second NO molecule binds to Cu(B) with low-affinity, producing the temporal co-presence of two NO molecules in the heme-copper center. The low-affinity of Cu(B) for NO binding also explains the NO reductase activity of the ba(3)-oxidase as opposed to other heme-copper oxidases. With the identification of the His-heme a(3)(2+)-NO/Cu(B)(1+) species, the structure of the binuclear heme a(3)-Cu(B)(1+) center in the initial step of the NO reduction mechanism is known. 相似文献

The first isolation and spectroscopic characterization of the mononuclear hydroperoxo-iron(III) complex [Fe(H(2)bppa)(OOH)](2+) (2) and the stoichiometric oxidation of substrates by the mononuclear iron-oxo intermediate generated by its decomposition have been described. The purple species 2 obtained from reaction of [Fe(H(2)bppa)(HCOO)](ClO(4))(2) with H(2)O(2) in acetone at -50 degrees C gave characteristic UV-vis (lambda(max) = 568 nm, epsilon = 1200 M(-1) cm(-1)), ESR (g = 7.54, 5.78, and 4.25, S = (5)/(2)), and ESI mass spectra (m/z 288.5 corresponding to the ion, [Fe(bppa)(OOH)](2+)), which revealed that 2 is a high-spin mononuclear iron(III) complex with a hydroperoxide in an end-on fashion. The resonance Raman spectrum of 2 in d(6)-acetone revealed two intense bands at 621 and 830 cm(-1), which shifted to 599 and 813 cm(-1), respectively, when reacted with (18)O-labeled H(2)O(2). Reactions of the isolated (bppa)Fe(III)-OOH (2) with various substrates (single turnover oxidations) exhibited that the iron-oxo intermediate generated by decomposition of 2 is a nucleophilic species formulated as [(H(2)bppa)Fe(III)-O*]. 相似文献

A series of the octapalladium chains supported by meso-Ph2PCH2P(Ph)CH2P(Ph)CH2PPh2 (meso-dpmppm) ligands, [Pd8(meso-dpmppm)4(L)2](BF4)4 (L=none ( 1 ), solvents: CH3CN ( 2 a ), dmf ( 2 b ), dmso ( 2 c ), RN≡C: R=Xyl ( 3 a ), Mes ( 3 b ), Dip ( 3 c ), tBu ( 3 d ), Cy ( 3 e ), CH3(CH2)7 ( 3 f ), CH3(CH2)11 ( 3 g ), CH3(CH2)17 ( 3 h )) and [Pd8(meso-dpmppm)4(X)2](BF4)2 (X=Cl ( 4 a ), N3 ( 4 b ), CN ( 4 c ), SCN ( 4 d )), were synthesized by using 2 a as a stable good precursor, and characterized by spectroscopic (IR, 1H and 31P NMR, UV-vis-NIR, ESI-MS) measurements and X-ray crystallographic analyses (for 1 , 2 a , b , 3 a , b , e , f , 4 a – d ). On the basis of DFT calculations on the X-ray determined structure of 2 b ( [2b-Pd8]4+ ) and the optimized models [Pd8(meso-Ph2PCH2P(H)CH2P(H)CH2PH2)4(CH3CN)2]4+ ( [Pd8Ph8]4+ ) and [Pd8(meso-H2PCH2P(H)CH2P(H)CH2PH2)4(CH3CN)2]4+ ( [Pd8H8]4+ ), with and without empirically calculating dispersion force stabilization energy (B3LYP-D3, B3LYP), the formation energy between the two Pd4 fragments is assumed to involve mainly noncovalent interactions (ca. −70 kcal/mol) with four sets of interligand C−H/π interactions and Pd⋅⋅⋅Pd metallophilic one, while electron shared covalent interactions are almost canceled out within the Pd8 chain. All the compounds isolated are stable in solution and exhibit characteristic absorption at ∼900 nm, which is assignable to a spin allowed HOMO to LUMO transition, and shows temperature dependent intensity change with variable absorption coefficients presumably due to coupling with some thermal vibrations. The structures and electronic states of the Pd8 chains are found finely tunable by varying the terminal capping ligands. In particular, theoretical calculations elucidated that the HOMO-LUMO energy gap is systematically related to the central Pd−Pd distance (2.7319(6)–2.7575(6) Å) by two ways with neutral ligands L ( 1 , 2 , 3 ) and with anionic ligands X ( 4 ), which are reflected on the NIR absorption energy of 867–954 nm. The isocyanide terminated Pd8 complexes ( 3 ) further reacted with excess of RNC (6 eq) to afford the Pd4 complexes, [Pd4(meso-dpmppm)2(RNC)2](BF4)2 ( 13 ), and the cyclic voltammograms of 2 a (L=CH3CN), 3 , and 13 (R=Xyl, Mes, tBu, Cy) demonstrated wide range redox behaviors from 2{Pd4}4+ to 2{Pd4}0 through 2{Pd4}2+↔{Pd8}4+, {Pd8}3+, and {Pd8}2+ strings. The oxidized complexes, [Pd4(meso-dpmppm)2(RNC)3](BF4)4 ( 16 ), were characterized by X-ray analyses, and the two-electron reduced chain of [Pd8(meso-dpmppm)4](BF4)2 ( 7 ) was analyzed by spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques and DFT calculations. Reactions of 2 a with 1 equiv. of aromatic linear bisisocyanide (BI) in CH2Cl2 deposited insoluble coordination polymers, {[Pd8(meso-dpmppm)4(BI)](BF4)4}n ( 5 ), and interestingly, they were soluble in acetonitrile, 31P{1H} and 1H DOSY NMR spectra as well as SAXS curves suggesting that the coordination polymers may exist in acetonitrile as dynamically 1D self-assembled coordination polymers comprising ca. 50 units of the Pd8 rod averaged within the timescale. 相似文献

In this study, we have demonstrated a two-legged, upright molecular design method for monochromatic and bright red luminescent LnIII-silica nanomaterials. A novel EuIII-silica hybrid nanoparticle was developed by using a doubly binding TPPO−Si(OEt)3 (TPPO: triphenyl phosphine oxide) linker. The TPPO−Si(OEt)3 was confirmed by 1H, 31P, 29Si NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Luminescent Eu(hfa)3 and Eu(tfc)3 moieties (hfa: hexafluoroacetylacetonate, tfc: 3-(trifluoromethylhydroxymethylene)camphorate) were fixed onto TPPO−Si(OEt)3-modified silica nanoparticles, producing Eu(hfa)3(TPPO−Si)2-SiO2 and Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si)2-SiO2, respectively. Eu(hfa)3(TPPO−Si)2−SiO2 exhibited the higher intrinsic luminescence quantum yield (93 %) and longer emission lifetime (0.98 ms), which is much larger than those of previously reported EuIII-based hybrid materials. Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si)2−SiO2 showed an extra-large intrinsic emission quantum yield (54 %), although the emission quantum yield for the precursor Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si(OEt)3)2 was found to be 39 %. These results confirmed that the TPPO−Si(OEt)3 linker is a promising candidate for development of EuIII-based luminescent materials. 相似文献
