Preparation and characterization of lamellar magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) thin films on cotton fabrics are reported in this paper. Mercerized cotton fabrics were treated with citric acid, so carboxyl groups were introduced to the surface of the fabrics. Mg(OH)2 seeds were first adsorbed on the citric acid‐treated cotton fabrics and then Mg(OH)2 thin films grew on the fabric through secondary growth method. Kinetics and isotherm studies found that the adsorption of Mg(OH)2 seeds on citric acid‐treated cotton fabrics followed pseudo second‐order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm. This indicated that Mg(OH)2 seeds adsorption was monolayer chemical adsorption driven by electric attraction between positively charged Mg(OH)2 seeds and ? COO? ions on the cotton fiber surface. The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and SEM characterizations of the Mg(OH)2 thin films covered cotton fabrics found that standing flaky Mg(OH)2 crystals formed a shell of porous but continuous network on cotton fabric surface. Owing to the Mg(OH)2 thin film covering, the fabric had fireproof property, lower thermal conductivity and higher optical absorbance in the UV, Vis and IR regions. Counterion exchange in cationic conjugated polyelectrolytes provides for a straightforward method to modulate the performance of these materials as the electron transport (injection) layer (ETL) in organic light emitting diodes. The bromide counterions of [(9,9-bis(6'-N,N,N-trimethylammonium)-hexyl)fluorene]bromide (PF-Br) can be easily replaced with trifluoromethylsulfonate (PF-CF3SO3), tetrakis(imidazolyl)borate (PF-BIm4) or tetrakis(3,5-trifluoromethylphenyl)borate (PF-BArF4) by a procedure that involves precipitation and washing. The performance of LEDs using MEH-PPV as the emissive layer, Al as the cathode, and the conjugated polyelectrolytes as the ETL varies in the order: PF-BIm4 > PF-CF3SO3 > PF-Br > PF-BArF4. In the case of PF-BIm4, the luminous efficiencies of the devices are similar to those of devices using Ba as the cathode. Thus, by properly choosing the counterion one can use higher work function metals that are more stable than lower work function metals without a substantial barrier to electron injection.  相似文献

A new titanium (IV) complex bearing phenoxyimine‐fluorene ligand was prepared and its behaviors in ethylene homo‐ and copolymerization with 1‐hexene, 1‐octene, and norbornene in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO) were studied respectively. The effects of various polymerization conditions including polymerization temperature, ethylene pressure and the concentration of comonomer on the catalytic activities and properties of the resultant polymer were investigated. The broad molecular weight distribution of resulting polymer indicated that the multiple active species were formed during polymerization. Such complex showed good catalytic activities in ethylene homo‐ and copolymerizations and good capabilities of incorporating various comonomers into polyethylene backbone. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of fused thiophenes composed of fused α‐oligothiophene units as building blocks, end‐capped with either styrene or 1‐pentyl‐4‐vinylbenzene groups, has been synthesized through Stille coupling reactions. The compounds have been fully characterized by means of 1H NMR spectrometry, high‐resolution mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The molecules present a transtrans configuration between their double bonds, which has been verified and confirmed by Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. The X‐ray crystal structures showed π–π overlap and sulfur–sulfur interactions between the adjacent molecules. The decomposition temperatures were all found to be above 300 °C, indicating that compounds of this series possess excellent thermal stability. The fact that no phase transition occurs at low temperature indicates that they should be well‐suited for application in devices. Moreover, they possess low HOMO energy levels, based on cyclic voltammetry measurements, and suitable energy gaps, as determined from their thin‐film UV/Vis spectra. Thin‐film X‐ray diffraction analysis and atomic force microscopy revealed high crystallinity on supporting substrates. In addition, as the substrate temperature has a significant influence on the morphology and the degree of crystallinity, the device performance could be optimized by varying the substrate temperature. These materials were found to exhibit optimal field‐effect performance, with a mobility of 0.17 cm2 V?1 s?1 and an on/off ratio of 105, at a substrate temperature of 70 °C.  相似文献
