Structure and stability of fluoroquinolone-(2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin complexes as perspective antituberculosis drugs

The formation of host–guest complexes of fluoroquinolones (FQs), such as levofloxacin, ofloxacin, and moxifloxacin with (2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HP–β–CD) was studied by spectroscopic methods. The stoichiometry and dissociation constants of the inclusion complexes were determined. The formation of complexes of FQs with HP–β–CD was confirmed by the solubility studies, the UV and FTIR spectra and the equilibrium dialysis. The use of the complex of levofloxacin with HP–β–CD leads to the prolonged release of the former observed in the dialysis experiments. The formation of inclusion complexes makes it possible to increase the solubility of FQs by two to five times. The research may provide a basis for the development of new FQ-containing drugs involving HP–β–CD as a nanocarrier system.     

Solubility in the 2KNO3 + MgCl2 ? 2KCl + Mg(NO3)2-H2O system

Solubility in the 2KNO₃ + MgCl₂ ↔ 2KCl + Mg(NO₃)₂-H₂O four-component reciprocal system was studied for the first time at 25 and 50°C in order to determine the feasibility of preparing potassium nitrate and magnesium chloride at near-ambient temperatures.     

Trends of salting out of oxyethylated anionic surfactant potassium bis(alkylpolyoxyethylene)phosphate with inorganic salts

The effect of salt structure on the ability to salt out oxyphos B from aqueous solutions is elucidated using the solubility data in pseudo-ternary inorganic salt–potassium bis(alkylpolyoxyethylene)phosphate (oxyphos B)–water systems in the temperature range of 20–90°С. The results are interpreted according to the Samoilov’s theory of salting-out.     

Solubility in the diagonal sections of the 2KCl + Ca(NO<Subscript>3</Subscript>)<Subscript>2</Subscript> ⇆ 2KNO<Subscript>3</Subscript> + CaCl<Subscript>2</Subscript>–H<Subscript>2</Subscript>O system

Solubility data in the diagonal sections of the quaternary reciprocal 2KCl + Ca(NO₃)₂ → 2KNO₃ + CaCl₂–H₂O system at 25 and 15°C are presented. It has been shown that the quaternary system has no stable diagonal at the studied temperatures, but contains a stable pair of salts, namely, potassium nitrate and calcium chloride. The obtained data can be used to optimize the thermal and concentrational parameters of the synthesis of potassium nitrate from calcium nitrate and potassium chloride.     

Supramolecular catalytic system triton X-100-polyethyleneimine-La(III) for hydrolysis of phosphonic acid esters

The self-organization of systems based on the nonionic surfactant Triton X-100, polyethyleneimine, and lanthanum ions has been investigated. The micellar solutions of Triton-X-100 alone and the Triton-X-100-polyethyleneimine binary systems inhibit the hydrolysis of phosphonic acid esters. The Triton-X-100-polyethyleneimine-La(III) ternary system with a certain component ratio exerts a considerable catalytic effect, raising the rate of the reaction by more than three orders of magnitude relative to the rate of the alkaline hydrolysis of the phosphonates.     

Solubility in the water-Catamine AB-(alkali metal or ammonium chloride) systems

Solubility in ternary aqueous stratifying systems containing Catamine AB (alkylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride [C _n H_{2n + 1}N⁺(CH₃)₂CH₂C₆H₅] · Cl, a cationic surfactant, where n = 10–18) and LiCl, NaCl, KCl, and NH₄Cl inorganic salts was studied for the first time at 25°C. The boundaries of two-phase liquid equilibrium fields were determined. The studied stratifying systems were proposed for use in the liquid extraction of metal ions.
