Contrary to what has been observed thus far collision-induced light scattering (CILS) can be completely polarized. This exceptional behavior characterizes the very far wing of the binary CILS spectrum by gaseous helium. This conclusion is drawn from an experimental study of the depolarization ratio of He (2) in a much extended, previously unexplored, spectral domain. Our analysis shows that this property, unique thus far, is mainly due to an almost perfect cancellation between polarization and exchange pair polarizability contributions to the depolarized spectrum, taking place at internuclear distances shorter than the atomic diameter.  相似文献

A cause of observed anomalous plasma momentum transport in a reversed-field pinch is determined experimentally. Magnetohydrodynamic theory predicts that nonlinear interactions involving triplets of tearing modes produce internal torques that redistribute momentum. Evidence for the nonlinear torque is acquired by detecting the correlation of momentum redistribution with the mode triplets, with the elimination of one of the modes in the triplet, and with the external driving of one of the modes.  相似文献

Suppose that a consistent one-step numerical method of orderr is applied to a smooth system of ordinary differential equations.Given any integer m 1, the method may be shown to be of orderr + m as an approximation to a certain modified equation. Ifthe method and the system have a particular qualitative propertythen it is important to determine whether the modified equationsinherit this property. In this article, a technique is introducedfor proving that the modified equations inherit qualitativeproperties from the method and the underlying system. The techniqueuses a straightforward contradiction argument applicable toarbitrary one-step methods and does not rely on the detailedstructure of associated power series expansions. Hence the conclusionsapply, but are not restricted, to the case of Runge-Kutte methods.The new approach unifies and extends results of this type thathave been derived by other means: results are presented forintegral preservation, reversibility, inheritance of fixed points.Hamiltonian problems and volume preservation. The techniquealso applies when the system has an integral that the methodpreserves not exactly, but to order greater than r. Finally,a negative result is obtained by considering a gradient systemand gradient numerical method possessing a global property thatis not shared by the associated modified equations.  相似文献

The recent discovery of the promising tumor cell kill by a novel platinum-acridine conjugate [Martins, E. T.; et al. J. Med. Chem. 2001, 44, 4492] has prompted us to explore the utility of analogous light-activatable rhodium(III) compounds as photocytotoxic agents. Here, the design and synthesis of [Rh(NH(3))(5)L](n)(+) complexes are described with L = 1,1,3,3-tetramethylthiourea (tmtu) or 1-[2-(acridin-9-ylamino)ethyl]-1,3,3-trimethylthiourea (2). The intercalator-based DNA-affinic carrier ligand 2 was synthesized from N-acridin-9-yl-N'-methylethane-1,2-diamine and dimethylthiocarbamoyl chloride and isolated as the hydrotriflate salt 2(CF(3)SO(3)). [Rh(NH(3))(5)(tmtu)](3+) (1) and [Rh(NH(3))(5)(2)](4+) (3) were obtained from the reactions of the trifluoromethanesulfonato complex [Rh(NH(3))(5)(OSO(2)CF(3))](CF(3)SO(3))(2) with the appropriate thiourea in noncoordinating solvents. All compounds were characterized by (1)H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopies and by elemental analyses. The single-crystal X-ray structures of 1(CF(3)SO(3))(3) x 2MeOH, 2(CF(3)SO(3)), and 3(CF(3)SO(3))(4) x H(2)O have been determined. Ligand-field photolysis of thermally inert 1 (lambda(max) = 378 nm) resulted in the aquation of 2 equiv of ammine ligand without noticeable release of sulfur-bound tmtu ((1)H NMR spectroscopy, NH(3)-sensitive electrode measurements). This was confirmed by (15)N[(1)H] NMR spectroscopy using (15)N-labeled [Rh((15)NH(3))(5)(tmtu)](3+) (1), which also indicated photoisomerization of the [RhN(5)S] moiety. Despite greatly accelerated ligand exchange, rhodium in 1 and 3 did not show light-enhanced formation of covalent adducts in calf thymus DNA. "Dark binding" levels of 3 in native DNA were slightly higher than for nontargeted 1, but significantly lower than those observed for analogous platinum-acridine. Agarose gel electrophoresis revealed photocleavage of supercoiled pUC19 plasmid DNA in the presence of hybrid 3 and its individual constituents 1 and 2. Simple 1 induced single-strand breaks while 3 produced complete degradation of the DNA after 24 h of continuous irradiation. Acridine 2 alone produced double-strand breaks. The extent of DNA damage observed for 1-3 correlates with the photocytotoxicity of the compounds in human leukemia cells, suggesting that DNA might be the cellular target of these agents.  相似文献

A specific and stability-indicating high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed for the analysis of calcium cyanamide in bulk material and dosage form. Calcium cyanamide in samples was converted into dansyl cyanamide. A muBondapak C18 column was employed for HPLC with 0.01 M sodium phosphate (pH 6.3)-acetonitrile (75:25, v/v) as the mobile phase. The proposed HPLC method was validated for linearity, specificity, accuracy and reproducibility.  相似文献

Treatment of [M(CO)(6)](-), M = Nb, Ta, with Ag(+), I(2) or NO(+) in the presence of CNXyl provided [M(CNXyl)(7)](+), M(CNXyl)(6)I, or cis-[M(CNXyl)(4)(NO)(2)](+), which are isocyanide analogues of the unknown carbonyl complexes [M(CO)(7)](+), M(CO)(6)I, or cis-[M(CO)(4)(NO)(2)](+), respectively. Reduction of M(CNXyl)(6)I by cesium graphite gave the respective Cs[M(CNXyl)(6)], which have been structurally characterized and represent the first isolable homoleptic isocyanidemetalates for second or third row transition metals. Nitrosylation of [Ta(CNXyl)(6)](-) affords a rare example of a mononitrosyl tantalum complex, Ta(CNXyl)(5)NO, which is an isocyanide analogue of the unknown Ta(CO)(5)NO. This study emphasizes, inter alia, the remarkable versatility of the CNXyl ligand compared to CO in stabilizing various electronic environments at heavier group 5 metal centers.  相似文献
