Abstract
A series of mono-alkylcarboxylic acid derivatives of tetraphenylporphyrin have been prepared. All the porphyrins were completely characterized by use of mass, 1H NMR, UV–visible, and fluorescence spectroscopy. Experimental log P were determined by use of reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography with use of log P Rekker. These porphyrins are potential photosensitizers in photodynamic therapy. 相似文献103.

Summary. The hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of 3-dimethylamino-1-(2-thienyl)-2-propene-1-thione (diene) with substituted β-nitrostyrenes, as well as maleic
and fumaric acids (dienophiles) yielded 3,4-dihydro-2H-thiopyran derivatives. The treatment of some of those cycloadducts with acetic acid caused elimination of dimethylamine,
affording stable 2H-thiopyrans. A reaction of the diene with maleic anhydride furnished a cycloadduct which underwent spontaneous rearrangement
to form an N,N-dimethylamide derivative. Cycloadditions of the diene to maleimide, N-phenylmaleimide, maleic acid monoanilide,
diethyl maleate, fumarate, and butenolide carried out in the presence of acetic anhydride were followed by elimination of
dimethylamine under formation of stable 2H-thiopyran derivatives.

Ilex paraguariensis, the holly tree, is a plant with recognized biological properties, whose aqueous infusions are known as “Yerba mate”, that regulate lipid metabolism, reduce obesity, and improve brain stimulation. In the present study, the effect of standardized saponin and terpenoid fractions of a European taxon, Ilex aquifolium, on blood biochemical parameters in a rat model of metabolic disorder, (fa/fa) Zucker, are presented. The profiles of the volatile fractions of two species and six European varieties of Ilex were investigated. After selecting the best variety, the saponin and terpenoid fractions were isolated and standardized, and animals were fed 10 mg kg−1 b.w. for 8 weeks. A statistically significant decrease in liver adiposity was observed, confirmed by histology and quantitative identification (gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analyses of hepatic lipids. RT-qPCR analysis of gene expression in the aorta revealed that the administration of the terpenoid fraction downregulated LOX-1, suggesting a reduction in atherosclerotic stimuli. In addition, a statistically significant reduction (p < 0.05) in PPARγ for the saponin fraction was observed in the liver. The expression of the ACAT-1 gene in the liver, responsible for the formation of cholesterol esters, increased significantly in the group receiving the terpenoid fraction compared to the control, which was also confirmed by the analysis of individual blood biochemical parameters. The opposite effect was observed for saponins. Taking the above into account, it is shown for the first time that Ilex aquifolium can be a source of compounds that positively influence lipid metabolism. 相似文献

This study aimed to determine the use of selected vegetables (pumpkin, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot) as carriers of potassium iodide (KI) and potassium iodate (KIO3) by determining changes in iodine content under various conditions of impregnation as the degree of hydration, impregnated sample temperature, and impregnation time. The influence of these conditions on iodine contents in vegetables after their fortification and storage (21 °C/230 days) was analyzed. The results showed that all selected vegetables could be efficient iodine carriers. However, the conditions of the impregnation process are crucial for fortification efficiency, particularly the degree of hydration and the temperature of the impregnated samples before drying. The results showed that the lowest iodine content was in samples fortified at 4 °C and 1:4 hydration. On the other hand, the highest reproducibility of iodine was for the following fortification conditions: temperature of −76 °C and hydration of 1:1. The studies confirmed the higher stability of iodine in KIO3 form compared to KI. To increase recovery of the introduced iodine in the product after drying, using the conditioning step at 4 °C is not recommended. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is used to estimate phase and element contents of the composites based on cubic boron nitride. A composite is a mixture of several compounds and the use of traditional X-ray diffraction for phase analysis in many cases can be difficult. By using XPS, we were able to evaluate the atomic concentration of elements and the content of different compounds of each element. SEM and XPS showed that samples are heterogeneous. The TiB2 phase, expecting from thermodynamic calculations, was formed in both investigated samples of cBN/Ti3SiC2/TiC but in different amount. Polyhedral oligomeric silesquioxanes (POSS) with eight polyether substituents were mixed with the liquid crystal (LC) 4-octyloxy-4′-cyanobiphenyl and spread at the air/water interface. The surface pressure-area and surface potential-area isotherms were recorded for different weight ratios of both components. The obtained results showed that POSS molecules had beneficial influence on LC monolayer improving its stability and rigidity. Moreover, it was found that some LC–POSS mixtures collapse reversibly and form multilayer films on the top of LC monolayer. On the other hand, interfacial dilatational and shear rheology indicated decrease of elasticity of the films after mixing. Brewster angle microscopy revealed multilayer structure of the condensed film and formation of net-like structures in the expanded film. These films were successfully transferred on solid substrates using the Langmuir–Blodgett technique. The scanning electron microscopy images confirmed the film deposition and formation of networks by POSS–LC mixtures. These findings may be useful in the fabrication of electronic devices based on LCs. 相似文献

Summary Two complexes formed from CuII acetate and thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (4-TCA) and 2-amino-4-thiazoleethanoic acid (ATAA) have been prepared and characterized by magnetic and spectroscopic techniques. The influence of the nature of ligands and solvents upon CuII e.p.r. properties was investigated for these compounds, Spin-Hamiltonian parameters from these data enabled suggestions concerning the structure of these complexes and the binding ability of the ligands. 相似文献
