Laser radiation is used for the deposition of dielectric erbium doped BaTiO3 thin films for photonic applications. Pulsed laser deposition with KrF excimer laser radiation (wavelength 248 nm, pulse duration 20 ns) is used to grow dense, transparent, amorphous, poly-crystalline and single crystalline erbium doped BaTiO3 thin films. Visible emission due to up-conversion luminescence (wavelength 528 nm and 548 nm) under excitation with diode laser radiation at a wavelength of 970–985 nm is investigated as a function of the erbium concentration of 1–20 mol% and structural film properties. We present a facile 19F NMR spectroscopic approach for the characterization of bistable RNA. The concept is based on the site-specific labeling of RNA with single 2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro (2'-F) nucleosides. Depending on the position of the 2'-F label (either within a double helix or a single-stranded region), significantly different 19F chemical shifts were observed and assigned to the particular alternative folds. This has been exemplified for a series of bistable RNAs. The approach is promising for the detailed investigation of complex RNA folding pathways.  相似文献

Subwavelength ripples (<λ/4) are obtained by scanning a tightly focused beam (∼1 μm) of femtosecond laser radiation (λ = 800 nm, tp = 100 fs) over the surface of either bulk fused silica and silicon and Er:BaTiO3. The ripple pattern extends coherently over many overlapping laser pulses parallel and perpendicular to the polarisation. Investigated are the dependence of the ripple spacing on the spacing of successive pulses, the direction of polarisation and the material. The evolution of the ripples is investigated by applying pulse bursts with N = 1 to 20 pulses. The conditions under which these phenomena occur are specified, and some possible mechanisms of ripple growth are discussed. Potential applications are presented.  相似文献

Hydrogen as a high-quality and clean energy carrier has attracted renewed and ever-increasing attention around the world in recent years, mainly due to developments in fuel cells and environmental pressures including climate change issues. In thermochemical processes for hydrogen production from fossil fuels, separation and purification is a critical technology. Where water-gas shift reaction is involved for converting the carbon monoxide to hydrogen, membrane reactors show great promises for shifting the equilibrium. Membranes are also important to the subsequent purification of hydrogen. For hydrogen production and purification, there are generally two classes of membranes both being inorganic: dense phase metal and metal alloys, and porous ceramic membranes. Porous ceramic membranes are normally prepared by sol-gel or hydrothermal methods, and have high stability and durability in high temperature, harsh impurity and hydrothermal environments. In particular, microporous membranes show promises in water gas shift reaction at higher temperatures. In this article, we review the recent advances in both dense phase metal and porous ceramic membranes, and compare their separation properties and performance in membrane reactor systems. The preparation, characterization and permeation of the various membranes will be presented and discussed. We also aim to examine the critical issues in these membranes with respect to the technical and economical advantages and disadvantages. Discussions will also be made on the relevance and importance of membrane technology to the new generation of zero-emission power technologies.  相似文献

3-(1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctyl)-1-vinylimidazolium chloride [2126844–17–3], a strong fluorosurfactant with remarkably high solubility in water, was expediently converted into the respective doubly NHC-complexed silver salt with nitrate as counter ion in quantitative yield. Due to its vinyl substituents, [bis(3-(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl)-1-vinylimidazol-2-ylidene)silver(I)] nitrate, Ag(FNHC)2NO3, represents a polymerizable N-heterocyclic carbene transfer reagent, thus potentially offering simple and robust access to coordination polymers with crosslinking metal bridges. The compound was characterized by infrared and NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry as well as elemental analysis, and supplemented by X-ray single-crystal structure determination. It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system in the space group P21/c. With 173.3°, the geometry of the Ag-carbene bridge deviates slightly from linearity. The disordered perfluoroalkyl side chains exhibit a helical conformation.  相似文献

KrF-excimer laser irradiation of polyimide (PI) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) at fluences near and below the material removal threshold ?t causes oxygen depletion, with the effect being much more pronounced for PI. In the case of PI there is also a slight nitrogen depletion, an opening of the imide ring at the N atom, and the formation of doubly bonded nitrogen, probably in an isoimide structure. Aluminium films on PI exhibit significantly more interfacial Al3+ after irradiation near ?t, indicating an enhancement of the metal/polymer binding, in spite of the reduced oxygen content in such surfaces. In contrast, irradiated PBT surfaces show little change in the amount of interfacial aluminium species compared to unirradiated surfaces.  相似文献

Four different spruce sulphite pulp samples were used for the preparation of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). The characteristics of the unreacted fibre and particle residuals obtained in the CMC-preparation were used to establish a correlation between the hemicellulose in the pulp and the intrinsic viscosity, i.e.,␣cellulose chain length and the occurence of unreacted residuals. It was shown that the residual particles in the CMC consisted of fibres, fibre fractions and gel particles of different degrees of substitution. The results suggested that pulps with long cellulose chains, i.e., pulps with high intrinsic viscosities, resulted in particles that were more substituted and more swollen. These pulps also resulted in more substituted hemicelluloses in the CMC and more substituted residuals. It was also suggested that galactoglucomannan in the cellulose pulps is favourable for the swelling which results in more substituted hemicelluloses in the CMC and more swollen residuals. The amount of residuals was influenced mainly by the characteristics of the cellulose in the pulp. It is therefore believed that a combination of high viscosity and a suitable combination of hemicelluloses is the most favourable way of eliminating the occurrence of undissolved residuals in CMC.  相似文献
