Functional Analysis of Tube Chain Conveyors

This paper describes some of the aspects necessary for the design and use of tube chain conveyors. It is based on the reports of experienced experts and recent tube chain conveyor experimental results. The aim of the research work is the formulation of general technical regulations for tube chain conveyors. Theoretical models were developed, which allow the calculation of the motion resistances in all parts of the conveyor by the use of empirical extracted correction factors. Specially designed measurement equipment enabled the measurement of the important chain tractive force from the closed tube system. The measurements show the influence of the major operational parameters and the bulk solid properties.     

Tunneling from a 3-dimensional quantum well in an electric field: an analytic solution

We derive the stationary tunneling solution for charged particles moving in a spherical, 3-dimensional zero-range potential plus a constant electric field. From the analytic expression for the wave function we calculate the distribution of the current inside and outside the vacuum barrier. At low field strengths there is a constant spreading of the tunnel current orthogonal to the direction of the applied field. At intermediate field strengths the exact results for the current distribution behave different from the semiclassical predictions.

Parametric decay below the upper hybrid frequency

Parametric decay of the upper hybrid mode is observed between the electron cyclotron frequency and its first two harmonics. The decay products are identified as electron Bernstein and ion acoustic mode. The diagnostic results confirm the relevant dispersion relations.

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Theorie über Metalle entwickelt, die in ihrem Grundgedanken dualistisch ist und sich in physikalischer und chemischer Beziehung an die vom Verf. früher angegebene Radikaltheorie aktiver Oxide in logischer Folge angliedert. Im einzelnen werden behandelt: Die Auflösung von Metallen in Säuren, ihre Passivierung sowie Oxidbildung und Rostverhütung, ferner elektrochemische Vorgänge, wie z. B. die NaCl-Elektrolyse. Katalytische Umsetzungen mitsamt Mechanismen wurden am Beispiel des SO₃-Kontaktverfahrens, der Ammoniaksynthese und-oxidation sowie von Dehydratisierungsreaktionen an Metallen besprochen. Auch das geschmolzene Metall fand in diesem Zusammenhang seine Berücksichtigung.

A theory about metals is developed, which is basically of a dualistic nature, and physically and chemically is connected to a radical theory of active oxides, previously developed by the same author. Especially treated are: the dissolution of metals in acids, their passivation and formation of oxides, and the inhibition of rust formation, as well as electrochemical reactions, for instance the NaCl-electrolysis. Catalytic reactions and their mechanism, the catalytic SO₃-process, the NH₃-synthesis and-oxidation, as well as the dehydration reactions on metals are discussed. Molten metals are also considered in this connection.

Zusammenfassung Die Hydrosole des röntgenamorphen Eisen (III)-hydroxids und seines Polymerysationsprodukts katalysieren in einer Reaktion I.
