A simple induction anisometer

Magnetic anisotropy of rotationally symmetric samples is measured by a simple induction method based on transverse susceptibility measurements. The sample is magnetically saturated by a d.c. field perpendicular to the axis of rotation. A small a.c. field is applied in the direction perpendicular to both the d.c. field and the axis of rotation. The transverse a.c. susceptibility is measured by a Hartshorn bridge of mutual inductance. From the transverse susceptibilities along different directions the anisotropy constants as well as the saturation magnetization can be determined.     

On the isolated singularities of the solutions of the Gaussian curvature equation for nonnegative curvature

The precise asymptotic behaviour of the solutions to the two-dimensional curvature equation Δu=k(z)e2u with e2u∈L¹ for bounded nonnegative curvature functions −k(z) near isolated singularities is obtained.

Mössbauer spectroscopy of creep-annealed soft magnetic amorphous alloys

To produce magnetic anisotropy in amorphous alloys, stress-annealing above the Curie temperature was substituted for the common thermomagnetic treatment. A tilting three-angle Mössbauer method was applied to see the changes of the⁵⁷Fe hyperfine field directions and intensities due to this procedure. The resulting pictures of the domain orientations distribution in the Fe₈₀Cr₂B₁₄Si₄ and Fe₄₀Ni₄₀B₂₀ amorphous alloys are compared with the measured magnetic anisotropies and domain structures.
