A deviation from Graessley's theory of entanglement viscosity appears at very high shear rates when the flow of polydimethylsiloxanes of various molecular weights and their solutions with various concentrations is measured by the capillary method. In order to explain this deviation, a modified Graessley theory is proposed according to the previously reported suggestion that frictional viscosity appears not to be negligible at high shear rates. A reducing procedure taking a frictional viscosity parameter into account was performed. All of the reduced data are combined to give a master curve in spite of a wide range of molecular weight, concentration, and shear rate (from the lower Newtonian to very highest non-Newtonian flow region). The findings from the reducing procedure completely explain the mechanism of non-Newtonian flow for the bulk polymers with various molecular weights, including those below the critical molecular weight for entanglement, and for polymer solutions at any concentration. The viscosity of the linear polymer system consists of the shear-dependent entanglement term ηent proposed by Graessley and the shear-independent frictional term ηfric. The non-Newtonian behavior depends on the ratio of ηentfric at the shear rate of measurement. The ratio of zero-shear entanglement viscosity ηent,0 to ηfric and the critical shear rate for onset of the non-Newtonian flow may be used as a measure of the non-Newtonian behavior of the system and a measure of capability for its rising, respectively. The Graessley theory is to be included in the present modified theory and is applicable to the case of ηentηfric ? 1.  相似文献

The flow curves of fractionated polydimethylsiloxanes of different molecular weights were obtained over a wide range of shear rates, from 3 × 10?1 to 4.3 × 106 sec?1, by use of a gas-driven capillary viscometer designed to decrease the experimental error in high shear rate region. Non-Newtonian flow can occur at molecular weights below the critical molecular weight Mc for the entanglement of polymer chain. The critical molecular weight Mc for the onset of the non-Newtonian flow is identical with that of the segment of viscous flow. For the polymer of molecular weights from Mc to Mc, the upper Newtonian viscosity increases with an increase in molecular weight. Above Mc, the upper Newtonian viscosity is almost independent of the molecular weight.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] Spirocyclic C-arylribosides were synthesized from the known gamma-ribonolactone derivative. Lithium acetylide addition followed by glycosylation with 3-(trimethylsilyl)propargyl alcohol converted the ribonolactone to silylated diynes. After desilylation or iodination, subsequent ruthenium-catalyzed cycloaddition of resultant diynes with alkynes or chloroacetonitrile gave spirocyclic C-arylribosides.  相似文献

The anion exchange reaction is fundamental to the adsorption and desorption of a specific species from a solution phase to an extracting phase, and it is widely used for separation and waste fluid treatment in industrial fields. However, the details of the anion exchange reaction are poorly understood. Quantitative thermodynamic analysis needs a precise solution condition before and after the exchange reaction. Identification of species adsorbed on the anion exchanger is also necessary because there are multiple species in the solution phase in general. Cobalt is a base metal that is widely used in modern society. One of the authors determined the distribution of cobalt-chloro complexes in hydrochloric acid solutions. It is necessary to know what species are adsorbed on anion exchangers for the thermodynamic analysis of the anion exchange reaction. The comparison in structures between the species in the solution phase and adsorbed on anion exchangers reveals what species are adsorbed. Therefore, the determination of the structures of cobalt-chloro complexes in the solution phase is the next step for quantitative analysis. X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was used for the structure analysis. Factor analysis can decompose extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectra consisting of multiple species into individual spectra of single species using the distribution determined using UV-Vis absorption spectra. Fitting EXAFS theoretical models to the decomposed individual spectra determined the structures of three cobalt-chloro complexes: an octahedron of [CoII(H2O)6]2+, a distorted octahedron of [CoII(H2O)5Cl]+, and a tetrahedron of [CoIICl4]2?. The XANES spectra showed us that the Cl ligand in [CoII(H2O)5Cl]+ was attracted to the center atom of CoII by an electrostatic force, and the bonding system between Cl ligands and CoII in [CoIICl4]2? involved covalency.

We have investigated electron-boson coupling in the optical conductivity of high-Tc superconductors through the optical self-energy. The real part of the self-energy (ReΣop(ω)) of YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) shows a characteristic doping dependence. In the optimally doped YBCO, ReΣop(ω) has a single peak around 65 meV, which corresponds to the kink structure of the band dispersion. On the other hand, in the under-doped YBCO, the peak structure of ReΣop(ω) splits into two parts. To evaluate contribution from the phonons in electron-boson coupling, we have measured oxygen-isotope effects by substituting 16O→18O for the optimally doped and under-doped YBCO.  相似文献

A novel shunt product, actinoperylone, has been isolated from a deletion mutant of the actVA-ORF5 and ORF6 genes involved in the biosynthesis of a benzoisochromanequinone (BIQ) antibiotic actinorhodin (ACT) in Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2). Spectroscopic analysis revealed its perylenequinone-type skeleton with the four chiral centers, obviously derived from the dimerization of an ACT intermediate. The structure of actinoperylone indicates the essential role of ActVA-ORF5 in the oxygen introduction at C-6, which is common to the formation of BIQ chromophore. The present results also agree with the distribution of the actVA-ORF5 homologues in all known BIQ biosynthetic clusters in streptomycetes.  相似文献

The pH dependence of the structures of {Mo(154-x)} mixed-valence oxomolybdate giant clusters were investigated by synchrotron X-ray diffraction of systematically prepared crystals containing [Mo138O410(OH)20(OH2)46](40-) (1), [Mo138O410(OH)20(OH2)38](40-) (2), [Mo138O406(OH)16(OH2)46](28-) (3), [Mo142O400(OH)52(OH2)38](28-) (4), [Mo142O432(OH2)58](40-) (5), [Mo148O436(OH)15(OH2)56](27-) (6), [Mo150O451(OH)5(OH2)61](35-) (7), and both [Mo150O442.5(OH)11.5(OH2)64](24.5-) and [Mo152O446(OH)20(OH2)54](28-) (8). Crystals 1, 4, and 5 contain discrete clusters while intercluster Mo-O-Mo bonds connect the clusters into chains in crystal 7, into two-dimensional networks in crystals 2 and 3, and into a three-dimensional framework structure in crystal 6. Crystal 8 contains both discrete and linearly catenated clusters: discrete {Mo150} are located between the chains of {Mo152}. Direct correlation was observed between the nuclearity of the clusters with the pH of the mother liquor. On the other hand, the geometries of extended structures do not show apparent correlation with the pH. They turned out to be governed by the tectonics of the component clusters. The pH of the mother liquor exerts influence on the extended structure through the structures of the constituent clusters.  相似文献

The photoluminescence spectrum and action spectrum for the photooxidation of orthovanadate-like (V=O)O3 species exhibiting photoluminescence at 520 nm indicate that the triplet excited state T1 of the orthovanadate-like species, which is formed from the singlet excited states S1 and S2 by intersystem crossing, is directly involved in the photooxidation of cyclohexane into cyclohexanone in the presence of molecular oxygen.  相似文献

Holographic gratings were formed in thick polymer films containing azobenzene and diphenylacetylene (tolane) moieties in the Bragg regime. Amorphous polymers containing various contents of the azobenzene moiety with photosensitivity and the tolane moiety with large birefringence in the side chain were synthesized, and optically transparent thick polymer films were prepared. The films were irradiated with a linearly polarized beam from an Ar+ laser (488 nm), and the transmittance of a He-Ne laser beam (633 nm) through a pair of crossed polarizers, with the film between them, was measured to estimate a photoinduced birefringence (deltan). The value of deltan increased with an increase in the tolane moiety content in the polymer films. When two linearly polarized beams at 488 nm were interfered in the film, a diffraction beam was observed, and the maximum diffraction efficiency (eta) increased with the tolane moiety content. In the film containing 70 mol% of the tolane moiety, the highest eta of 99% was achieved, and angular selectivity due to Bragg diffraction was clearly observed. We consider the cooperative molecular motion of the tolane moieties to be induced by the photoinduced change in alignment of the azobenzene moieties even if the polymers show no liquid-crystalline phase. When two orthogonal circularly polarized beams were allowed to interfere in the film, a Bragg-type polarization grating was formed. It was found that the value of eta reached 90% within 920 ms.  相似文献
