A micropolar model for blood simulating magnetohydrodynamic flow through a horizontally nonsymmetric but vertically symmetric artery with a mild stenosis is presented. To estimate the effect of the stenosis shape, a suitable geometry has been considered such that the horizontal shape of the stenosis can easily be changed just by varying a parameter referred to as the shape parameter. Flow parameters, such as velocity, the resistance to flow (the resistance impedance), the wall shear stress distribution in the stenotic region, and its magnitude at the maximum height of the stenosis (stenosis throat), have been computed for different shape parameters, the Hartmann number and the Hall parameter. This shows that the resistance to flow decreases with the increasing values of the parameter determining the stenosis shape and the Hail parameter, while it increases with the increasing Hartmann number. The wall shear stress and the shearing stress on the wall at the maximum height of the stenosis possess an inverse characteristic to the resistance to flow with respect to any given value of the Hartmann number and the Hall parameter. Finally, the effect of the Hartmann number and the Hall parameter on the horizontal velocity is examined.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of 0.1% thyme oil (TO), trans-cinnamaldehyde (TC), ferulic acid (FA), p-coumaric acid (p-CA), caffeic acid (CA), lavender essential oil (LO), geranium essential oil (GO) and tee tree oil (TTO) to control biofilms formed by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Depending on the strains, TO reduced 59.7–85% of biofilm mass, while TC 52.9–82.4% after 48 h of treatment. Reduction of metabolic activity of biofilms in ranges 79.3–86% and 85.9–88.7% was observed after 48 h of TC and TO of treatment, respectively. In the case of some strains, reduction of biofilm mass in the presence of FA, CA, GO, LO and TTO was not observed. This study showed that TO and TC might have therapeutic potential as an inhibitory agents for use in MRSA biofilm-related infections.  相似文献

The behavior in gallium arsenide of copper introduced through the melt has been investigated. Measurements have been made on the electrical and photoluminescent properties of single crystals that had either been quenched from Tcryst, slowly cooled after crystallization or thermally annealed at 1100°C after completion of the growth. On quenching from Tcryst, formation of very shallow acceptors is observed. On slow cooling or annealing at 1100°C, acceptor levels are formed of the order of 0.12 and 0.02 eV. The concentration of carriers for both levels diminishes with lower temperatures of annealing and with concentration of copper added. The 0.12 eV level is assigned to the center (CuGaVGa).  相似文献

We describe azophenylindane based molecular motors (aphin-switches) which have two different rotamers of trans-configuration and four different rotamers of cis-configuration. The behaviors of these motors were investigated both experimentally and computationally. The conversion of aphin-switch does not yield single isomer but a mixture of these. Although the trans to cis conversion leads to the increase of the system entropy some of the cis-rotamers can directly convert to each other while others should convert via trans-configuration. The motion of aphin-switches resembles the work of a mixing machine with indane group serving as a base and phenol group serving as a beater. The aphin-switches presented herein may provide a basis for promising applications in advanced biological systems or particularly in cases where on demand disordering of molecular packing has value, such as lipid bilayers.  相似文献

Reactions of N-(2,2-dichloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethyl)-substituted azoles with zinc, magnesium, butyllithium, and tris(diethylamino)phosphine were studied, and optimal conditions for the preparation of the corresponding N-(2-chloro-1,2-difluorovinyl) derivatives were found [tris(diethylamino)phosphine, chlorotrimethylsilane].
