The crossover in kinetic roughening of thin films from a particle-character-dominated regime to continuous growth behavior has been observed in this work. This has been accomplished by atomic force microscopy investigations of pulsed laser deposited amorphous organic films with thicknesses ranging from several nanometers to more than 4 microm. The early-stage random-deposition-like processes end once a closed layer is formed, which grows without saturation on the characteristic length scales. Experimental investigation of an electric arc stabilized by a water vortex was carried out in a DC arc plasma torch for the power range 90-200 kW. Volt-ampere characteristics of the arc as well as the power balance were determined separately for the part of the arc column stabilized by water and for the remaining part between the nozzle exit and the external anode. The temperature of arc plasma close to the nozzle exit was determined by emission spectroscopy. Negatively biased electric probes in the ion collecting regime were used for determination of the plasma flow velocity. The measured temperatures up to 27000 K, and velocities up to 7 km/s are higher than the values commonly reported for plasma torches with DC arcs stabilized by a gas flow. Mass and energy balances within the arc chamber were determined from the experimental results. The radial transport of the energy by radiation was identified as a decisive process controlling the arc and plasma properties. The balance of radial energy transport was studied. The ratio of energy spent for evaporation of the water to the energy absorbed in the evaporated mass is very low in the water stabilized arc. We investigate short-range correlations in nuclear and hypernuclear matter. Self-energies due to short-range correlations
and their influence on the nucleon and Λ -hyperon spectral functions are described in an approach accounting for a realistic
treatment of mean-field dynamics and a self-consistently derived quasi-particle interaction. Landau-Migdal theory is used
to derived the short-range interaction from a phenomenological Skyrme energy density functional, subtracting the long-range
pionic contributions to the nucleonic spectral functions. We discuss our results for different hyperon-baryon ratios to show

We demonstrate experimentally a novel technique for characterizing transverse spatial coherence by using the Wigner distribution function. The method is based on the measurement of interference between a pair of rotated and displaced replicas of the input beam with an area-integrating detector, and it provides an optimal signal-to-noise ratio in regimes when array detectors are not available. We analyze the quantum-optical picture of the presented measurement for single-photon signals and discuss possible applications in quantum information processing. 相似文献

We consider deep inelastic scattering off nuclei in the Regge limit within the Glauber–Gribov model. Using unitarized parton distribution functions for the proton, we find sizeable shadowing effects on the nuclear total and longitudinal structure functions, $F_{2}^{A}$ and $F_{L}^{A}$ , in the low-x limit. Extending a fan-diagram analysis for the large-mass region of coherent diffraction off nuclei to high Q 2, we also find significant shadowing effects in this kinematical regime. Finally, we discuss the shortcomings of our approach and possible extensions of the model to other kinematical regimes. 相似文献

Abstract Kinetics of base catalysed solvolytic cleavage of phenoxy group from compounds of general structure X (CH2)nSiMe2OPh, where n=1,2,3 and X=Me,Ph2P, Ph2P (p), Ph2P(s) has been investigated. The main purpose was to study the effect of phosphorus groups on the reactivity in substitution reaction at silicon. We wanted to answer the question whether there is any direct interaction of the phosphorus groups with silicon moiety, modifying this reactivity.
